have visited several times, love certain dishes.. my family has visited several times and we really enjoy the pulled pork and spicy slaw sandwiches. i will agree some reviewers that the food hasn't been consistent, sometimes the pork is dripping with sauce and is too messy to eat, other times there very little slaw, other times there is plenty. i'm not sure if we've experienced different kitchen staff or what. we experienced a hostess that was not nice at all but the wait staff has been excellent and very willing to fix any problems. drinks have been inconsistent too but we visited a lot during the world cup and they were very busy. i hope to see improvement in consistency because because i really love the shepherd's pie but the fish and chips are lacking flavor and are full of grease. i'm glad i didn't try that one first. it's good when you know what to order.

bye bye birdie! it is with .... bye bye birdie!
it is with heavy heart i write this review because as an ex pat englishman i really liked it here......
sadly the menu has been stripped of everything british save for a few frozen items. a reuben sandwich come on!
i used to come for fish (cod) and chips .... british fish and chips is traditionally cod or haddock in batter with fresh thick cut fried potatoes...what we were served is so far removed it is rediculous.
the fish is now pollack ( a cheap frozen greasy fish) battered in some dreck with pepper flakes and parsley!!! acompanied by some frozen bag us french fries . this abomanation is then served with a bulk produced glop. (tartar sauce) and the cheapest us sourced malt vinegar... no sarsons here diners....
pitiful!!
will not be back you have ruined a good thing, shame!
btw i am not a drinker but out of 30 odd tap beers only 4 are english and 3 of those are supermarket brands!!!
fail!!!

not impressed. scotch eggs were not bad, everything else was just bar food quality ( more emphasis on bar than food). out of stock on two different beers, brought wrong soft drink, dinner food came before appetizer, salad dressing wrong, fish greasy, and mac and cheese like soup. if england is known for not having especially good food, they nailed it.

surmising "the londoner" in .... surmising the londoner in one word? that's easy: flavor.

you can taste everything. the subtle flavor of the fish. the beer in the beer batter. the potatoes in the chips (french fries). they add just enough spices and herbs to accent what you're eating, not hide it.

they don't load everything up with salt and grease to the point you've forget what you're eating. and, the toffee pudding is worth the drive no matter what part of town you live in.

our waitress, victoria, was polite, very we'll-mannered and prompt.

i recommend the londoner, highly.

great place. we went here on a whim and was blow away. the staff was so attentive, i have never been served like that in a bar/pub place. the food was absolutely amazing and the beer list was full of tons of local and imported beers. something for everyone's taste buds. the prices were very affordable especially for someone who is on a budget. before we left the waiter stated that he hopes we will visit again. this is a place that we will visit as often as we can!!

used to be good. this used to be our favorite casual spot for a drink and a good meal. well, the good meal part is gone so we won't be back. the menu has been slashed to nothing but sandwiches, fried food and a couple of horrible salads. along with getting rid of all of the good menu selections (grilled tuna, all the chicken dishes, the curry, etc.), the owner must have fired the chef too. the tomato soup was awful and had huge chunks of raw garlic in it. even the fries tasted different.

the atmosphere alone is unlike anything else i've found in baton rouge. great place to go any time of the day or night. the food does not disappoint. fish & chips is a staple item that is always good. pork sliders are flavorful. shepherds pie is pretty incredible as well. i've eaten here at least a handful of times and have yet to find something bad on the menu.

no no no. i used to frequent this place a couple of times a week but it is surely going downhill. there's no consistency what so ever and they change management like i change underwear!! must say something about the owners? its probably an issue on their part..like i said food is never consistent, you go in expecting one thing and get something totally different..one major factor of a good restaurant is consistency! another thing, where are all the people who worked here within the last year..there are only 1 or 2 people recognizable!! the new waiters/waitresses clearly have no clue about customer service nor do they seem to care!!! get your stuff together londoner! bring back old managers and employees whatever you have to do! and serve the same consistent food!!!!

always a pleasure. this place is close, open late, and affordable - so as a grad student, it's a natural habitat. the menu items are definitely different from what you'll find elsewhere in baton rouge, with a good mix of home comfort food and american pub favorites. the prices are good, getting a large burger on homemade sweet buns with a crock of creamy mac and cheese is under $10. i wouldn't say that the wait staff is the friendliest, but they always have prompt service and are hospitable. prices are good and the beer selection is one of the better in baton rouge, with a good mix of british imports and louisiana brews. definitely a bar-like atmosphere and popular with locals.

interesting. no, the wait-staff isn't overly nice. it's a dark pub and cool hangout. i wasn't out alone and i don't expect waitresses to be my temporary new bff, so it wasn't a big deal. hubby had the steak & ale pie. the more of it he ate, the more he liked it. we got the impression that if you like ale, you probably like it. i wasn't feeling adventurous and got the steak sandwich, because i figured it would be similar to a philly. complaints: it seemed like there was only swiss on one side and it could have used more grilled onions and bell peppers. it tasted great, but could have been even better with swiss evenly distributed and more onions and peppers.

please don't waste your money, service was poor at best my poor waitress had the personality of a wet doughnut and the kicker is that they had her training a new waitress. food was not much better than the waitress. the place was dirty that was my first and last time to waste my time and money there.
they really need that guy on tv for a restaurant rescue.

this place was awful. it came recommended from a friend an we were very dissapointed. after the bad service and overpriced burger- i asked her when the last time she had eaten there even was. she ha actually been there recently as well and was disappointed the second time around. maybe the cook or the recipes changed? we won't be back to find out. waste of money.

avoid at all costs. the few times i have gone to the londoner i was terribly disappointed. the food was either super super bland or was salty to the point of being inedible. the sodas were flat, the glasses are always dirty, and the waitstaff is slow and apathetic.

the londoner is an english style pub located on sherwood forest blvd. in baton rouge, la. true to form they have a very nice and large bar area with darts & pool tables..styled nicely and also had comfy couches, large chairs and big tv’s throughout the place. as i said it is styled nicely true to  standards of a real english pub. beautiful inside and they play most all soccer game from around the world.   the food however is a different story. i have never been to england but the food here for the most part is bland and boring. we sampled the scotch eggs (hard boiled egg wrapped in pork then breaded and fried) they looked amazing, but were almost tasteless. the sauce that same along side for dipping also tasted like nothing. we also had the “tower of london burger” which we found to be an average, run of the mill burger, again under seasoned and just plain boring.   fish and chips     the fish and chips were the only thing we found to be tasty. although the portion siz
