the johnson's cafe

on our travel to manali we decided to lunch at the very famous johnson's cafe situated just 2kms from mall road. this place has beautiful garden surrounding the cafe along with tables alongside. the ambience is superb and you'll feel the natural air when here. johnsons has really good food with great healthy options. heres a list of the dishes we tried.

1. cafe frappe - blended coffee with vanilla ice cream and fresh cream. a refreshing choice on a sunny day.

2. watermelon delight - watermelon chunks mixed with soda, mint and slices of lemon. a healthy detox option you can enjoy here. the watermelon coupled with mint just refreshes your mouth and body.

3. tomato mozzarella and basil pesto- mozzarella pieces served with tomato pieces sprinkled with olive oil, basil leaves and pesto garnish. this healthy salad is delicious. the mozzarella melts in your mouth and the tomato adds to the tangy flavour. a good way to start your meal.

4. smoked chicken sandwich - smoked chicken mixed with onions, tomatoes, cucumber and mayonnaise. the sandwich was toasted and served with fries and sauce. the smoked chicken had a good flavour and the chicken was very fresh.

5. arabiatta chicken pasta - we had chosen flat noodles as a choice of our pasta. this red sauce pasta was tossed with special herbs and sprinkled with mozzarella cheese and served with garlic bread. just mouth watering is our only opinion.

eating at the johnsons cafe is nothing but peaceful. the serenity of the nature around will make you stay there forever. hence when you visit manali consider dining here once

amazing place!!! well obviously manali keeps on a general high but the food at johnson's and the ambiance they are an add on. a wide range of breakfast platters to choose from, fresh food cooked just the right way! the homemade figs jam was something i could bring home with me! the meat they served was nice and tender and even the mushrooms tasted so much better!
one little glitch though that their coffee machine wasn't working and i had to settle for the regular nescafe ;)
and yes, their staff, warm and welcoming!

loved everything about this cafe.. from the wooden setup to their food and huge open area on the side where kids could just play around .
though didn't get to try too many things on the menu.. but whatever we tried was very good .. really loved their coffees, be it cold or hot and pizzas were amazing too. definitely a must try on your manali trip.

we try so much food at so many places but tbh not every food describe itself...but here at @thejohnsonscafe they make sure that people visiting this place get connected to their food from the first bite😍😍

we tried ( **barbeque lamb chops with greens, served with potato wedges and topped with sundried tomatoes** ) it was just perfect, the atmosphere was making it even more heavenly...as we say (people, process, place and presentation makes a dish perfect) and we can happily say that here all the 4 elements are in abundance... we are visiting this place again and again...

if you want to soak in the feeling of being in manali with some nice cocktails, pizza and great ambience, then the johnson's cafe is where you should be. this cafe overlooks the scenic beauty and chilly mountains of manali giving it an amazing aura. the decor is colourful and peppy which adds to the character of this cafe. as far as the food is concerned, you won't be disappointed. they serve some really nice freshly baked pizza. the cocktails are just amazing, especially the ones with cinnamon in it. you can also sit by the bonfire and enjoy your meals during chilly nights. really an inviting place.

one of the best pizzas i've had in my life was right here at johnson's cafe. we visited this cafe on a rainy night during a holiday and it was a memorable experience. the wooden, classic decor, live music, excellent service, and divine food made it really special. we had a lot of fun on a girls night out in the old town of manali. 

we ordered wine and cosmic karma pizza-with feta cheese and pesto sauce. the ingredients were so fresh and tasty, the wine was soft and delicious -paired perfectly with the pizza and the ambience was fun and vibrant. the prices were also very reasonable and we relished our meal.

i would love to come back here once again and highly recommend this for anyone visiting manali:)

nice and cozy place. we ordered trout fish which was really good. along with that we ordered manali local chicken curry which i found to be very ordinary. loved the decor.

i need to first clarify the pictures uploaded here are for johnson's bar restaurant. both the places belong to the same owner. it's just divided by a single wall. we ordered the crispy fried trout. it was pretty average after i had the tandoori trout the previous afternoon in the next restaurant. the service was very bad and i would recommend johnson's bar restaurant instead of this place.

went there during my solo trip to manali on nov 2018. came here for dinner after cafe 1947 did not serve me as i was a single customer and they preferred to serve groups... however loved johnson's cafe ... the staff extremely courteous... the food was great.. loved the baked trout they served...

loved it. great ambience, good food, nice locality. good to head here with friends and good company. definitely recommend when on a trip this side of manali. cheers

johnson's cafe is one of the most happening and gorgeous hangout places in main manali and doesn't need an introduction.
close to the market, it takes just a few mins walk to reach here.

i have been to johnson's cafe as well as their lounge a few times and ordered everything from the english breakfast to pizza, pasta , garlic bread, coffee etc. and everything was delicious.

if it's your first time in manali i would recommend visiting it once.

we found this quaint and peaceful cafe somewhat towards the end of the mall when we were tired with walking and shopping. beautiful decor and great views. we ordered hot chocolate, cake and honey ginger lemon tea. everything was wonderful. came to know it's also known for it's nice live music in evenings. highly recommended!

a warm place with delicious food.perfect place to hangout with your beloved ones. enjoy christmas throughout the year.

johnson is a must go cafe. food, ambiance & service - everything is great. i love their baked trout - if you eat fish then trout is a must try in manali and no better place to try than johnson.
in the town even the most basic looking restaurant or cafe is not cheap like one might expect, especially around mall road and old manali. you can just spend a little extra at the johnson's and you will be assured a good food at a nice place.

one of the best cozy restaurants in manali! the fireplace inside is an added luxury feature. the place has friendly staff and are quite helpful.
