the johnson's cafe

johnson's cafe is one of the best places in manali for working or hanging out. it is spread over a huge area with indoor and outdoor seating and arrangements for live concerts as well. we really loved the ambience !

coming to the food, we tried the following -

👉 virgin pina colada - it made us feel refreshed !

👉 paneer kebab - the paneer were really soft but a little bland in taste.

👉 pepperoni pizza - the quantity easily suffices three people and also it tasted great !

👉 lemon cheesecake - the cheesecake is a must try from this place. it was soft and heavenly !

👉 apple pie - this isnicebut i found it sweeter than necessary.

overall, the place offers great ambience but the prices are also on the higher side. the food is average except the cheesecake which was reallynice! 🙈

first of all, the place seems lit from outside and it was indeed lit once we got inside... the interiors and ambience of the place is super good. now coming back to food, we had ordered garlic breads, chicken pizza, veg pizza, chicken burger and veg arrabiata pasta... we liked almost all the dishes except garlic bread and pasta which somehow seemed and tasted like a naan. the pasta was undercooked for which we asked a replacement and gladly they honoured the request and provided a fresh nicely cooked pasta... overall the experience wasnice👌🏻

interiors are amazing and food wasnicetoo but i'll let you know that the staff members doesn't behave well they don't know how to behave with the customers. they are very rude and there service is very slow. i'll never recommend to go there instead go to other restaurants/cafe . note(owner):- kindly check on your staff asap for better future.
my overall experience was pathetic so i'll not recommend to others.

johnson cafe was the one nearest to my hotel in manali, famous plus in centre of manali mall road i.e. heart of city❤️

we ordered mushroom bruschetta🍞, veg pizza🍕n coffee☕️.. everything was good in taste.

we ended up here after getting confused with johnson’s bar cafe so was initially sceptical. the menu was also small. but the chef really understands good food and ensures every item in the menu tasted amazing. we ordered chilly cheese fries, their homemade burgers, mixed herb trout. and in drinks, we had apple cinnamon martini and rum tody. apple cinnamon martini and trout was exceptional! burgers were really fresh and tasty.
ambience isnicebut when we visited there was lack of music. but i’m sure weekend vibes would be better. highly recommend this place for a great calming meal.

aniceplace to chill around and go out for a date with your loved one. beautiful flowery garden and view of hills in the background adds a lot of romance to the place.

food is not amazing as expected. but good enough to have a small bite and have a long chat.

amazing place!!! well obviously manali keeps on a general high but the food at johnson's and the ambiance they are an add on. a wide range of breakfast platters to choose from, fresh food cooked just the right way! the homemade figs jam was something i could bring home with me! the meat they served wasniceand tender and even the mushrooms tasted so much better!
one little glitch though that their coffee machine wasn't working and i had to settle for the regular nescafe ;)
and yes, their staff, warm and welcoming!

if you want to soak in the feeling of being in manali with somenicecocktails, pizza and great ambience, then the johnson's cafe is where you should be. this cafe overlooks the scenic beauty and chilly mountains of manali giving it an amazing aura. the decor is colourful and peppy which adds to the character of this cafe. as far as the food is concerned, you won't be disappointed. they serve some reallynicefreshly baked pizza. the cocktails are just amazing, especially the ones with cinnamon in it. you can also sit by the bonfire and enjoy your meals during chilly nights. really an inviting place.

we found this quaint and peaceful cafe somewhat towards the end of the mall when we were tired with walking and shopping. beautiful decor and great views. we ordered hot chocolate, cake and honey ginger lemon tea. everything was wonderful. came to know it's also known for it'snicelive music in evenings. highly recommended!

johnson is a must go cafe. food, ambiance & service - everything is great. i love their baked trout - if you eat fish then trout is a must try in manali and no better place to try than johnson.
in the town even the most basic looking restaurant or cafe is not cheap like one might expect, especially around mall road and old manali. you can just spend a little extra at the johnson's and you will be assured a good food at aniceplace.

decent cafe to visit while your stay in manali. try the fresh trouts here. they are baked, grilled and served with mashed potato and sautéed vegetables. light on stomach, buttery in taste, this will want you to make them visit again :) pizzas are alsonicehere. good crowd and music also adds to its popularity. recommended!

heard a lot about the place so had to go there. but found out that it is hyped up a little. the restaurant is well constructed with a lot of seating area outside and inside as well. the decor is all wooden. but the food wasn't good.

the cheese balls were really bad and we could not even finish it as the cheese tasted bad.

the pizza was also the same. it was too bland and cheese was really bad.

the oreo shake was a good choice withnicetexture and and flavour.

the standout was the fish sticks. the fish was soft while the layering was crunchy. the tartar sauce was also tasty.

the trout was ok-ok. it wasn't bad but it wasn't that great that i would like to pay a visit to this place again for the fish(which is supposed to be there niche).

overall felt a bit disappointing

didn't have a good experience during my only visit here in august 2018.
had kingfisher premium for the lack of options at this place. ordered chicken nachos, chowmien and a burger.
the service was prompt, nachos and chowmien were tasty. then came the burger. with hair in it. got it replaced to find a hair in the next one too. was done with the place.
it has anicesetting though. we sat in the garden. the interiors are also good.
