the johnson's cafe

johnson's cafe is one of the best places in manali for working or hanging out. it is spread over a huge area with indoor and outdoor seating and arrangements for live concerts as well. we really loved the ambience !

coming to the food, we tried the following -

👉 virgin pina colada - it made us feel refreshed !

👉 paneer kebab - the paneer were really soft but a little bland in taste.

👉 pepperonipizza- the quantity easily suffices three people and also it tasted great !

👉 lemon cheesecake - the cheesecake is a must try from this place. it was soft and heavenly !

👉 apple pie - this is nice but i found it sweeter than necessary.

overall, the place offers great ambience but the prices are also on the higher side. the food is average except the cheesecake which was really nice ! 🙈

been there and done that. they have a trout special. must try. they also make decentpizzaand pastas. good but if you need spicier meal, you need to specifically ask for it. ambience is great and with proximity to mall road, it has quieter look and feel. can visit. quantity as specified.

we ordered pizza, wine and beer.pizzahad no salt at all. the sauce and toppings on thepizzawas very less. definitely don't recommend orderingpizzahere.

this place is really beautiful. the decor and the infrastructure of not just the cafe but also the resort premise is mesmerizing. didn't eat much here but had the following :

hot chocolate - pretty decent
margheritapizza- pretty darn good
burger - good

wish could try more things but yes , i totally recommend going here.

started with the dirty table which the waiter insisted was clean. it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned for ages and was sticky.
we ordered pizza, baked potatoes and coffee. the hot coffee had turned cold and the food took ages to arrive. called out to one of the waiters to ask for the food but he saw us and turned away! the food (when it finally arrived) wasn't great. half bakedpizzaand absolutely bland potatoes.

please avoid.

situated in old manali, johnson's serves some really good food and well prepared drinks. the ambience is a very big plus - it is spacious, and the well lit up during the evening. they have both outdoor and indoor seating

now coming to the food. overall it was a great food experience. we ordered cheese balls, chilli cheede fries, paneer tikka with mint chutney, and mixed veg pizza.

strongly recommend the cheese balls, paneer tikka and mixed veg pizza. thr cheese balls are served with plum sauce and salad, and surprisingly they complement each other. the mint chutney served with paneer tikka is to die for. thepizzawas also very well prepared. i am a stickler for thepizzabase, it was neither too doughy nor too thin - just how i like it!

it is a bit heavy on the pocket, but the food and ambience should be experienced on your visit to manali

visit this place if you have ample of time at your disposal. food is good but service is very bad. it took 45mins to get apizzaand it was not properly baked. also staff did not respond when asked reason for delay in service.

a more accurate rating may have been 3.5. the place has a good ambience, but the waiters don't seem very happy to serve. we had apizzaand cheese fries. definitely one of the better pizzas i have had, but the fries were really below par.

the place was so beautiful. the view was mesmerising. the place has both an indoor as well as an outdoor seating for the guests.
we sat on the outdoor area. it was so peaceful and chilling .
although the menu was 90% non veg we still managed to order a woodfire veg margaritapizzaplaying safe with the flavours.
thepizzawas delicious. totally loved it. i mean going manali its a must you visit this cafe.

no doubt that the soup was amazing as usual, having said that one of the worst experiences when eatingpizzaas it was totally tasteless and bland. when we told the same to the server both of them told us that they dont add salt topizzawhile cooking and serve it on the table ... i expected some quality food from this place and was not expecting this kind of response. inr 450 for this was totally waste of money and moreover the experience i had to face..pizzawas so bad that i had to get it packed and then throw it away in trash later on .
would think twice now before visiting this place again

don’t even think, contemplate or doubt visiting. order the wood fired pizza, any variety is great. but the feta cheese one cosmic karma is the best. undoubtedly one of the bestpizzaplaces in the country. other items such as pasta and pancakes are also great but thepizzais miles ahead.

ask for the waiter rajeev, stay away from the waiter roshan who is a rude and growling man.

manali and the johnson's cafe go hand in hand. i clearly remember having the best time with my friends when i had last visited the place which was around 8 years back. visiting the cafe just recently was a trip down the memory lane. the place felt same and the food even better. i find the johnson's cafe a perfect hangout spot to chill with family and friends. pick anything from their menu and am sure you won't be disappointed. however, wood fired pizzas and burgers are a must must try here.

being in manali for few hours after humpta pass trek meant going for a good and long shower (effects of not having bath for 5 days🤭) and binge eating at the johnson's cafe.😝

ordered my all time favorite chicken tikkapizzaand chili chicken. wanted to treat my palate with spicy and real food.🤤🤤pizzawas crispy, wood fired thin crust with perfect flavors. chili chicken was tender and cooked to perfection with chinese sauces.😍

went there last month ...ordered the veg soup they have..it was great and i was very impressed. so we took a gamble an decided to have our dinner there. to our bad luck all the dishes i ordered from the vegetarian menu ie white sauce pasta, a vegpizzaand noodles were below standard products. i am a vegetarian so i can only tell about the veg food. i hope you guys take this as an advice and will up your veg food game. ps thepizzawas a paneer something pizza...and the cottage cheese was old and hard.

beautiful place.. live music was amazing.. the wine was siperb.. and the spicy chickenpizzawas amazing. just loved it. the staff was courteous.

very beautiful place. the garden outside itself will mesmerize you. there was live music inside so you can get taste of both worlds. i ordered a margheritapizzaand a veg arrabiata spaghetti pasta. thepizzawas really good, the pasta was really oily and could have been better. considering all factors the place is a must visit.
