went here around 2:30-3:00 pm on a sunday. there was a short ~10 minute wait to be seated, which leads me to believe that during the main meal times there is a significant wait. i assume it has indoor tables, but we were seated outside, which was fine because we were hungry and the weather was tolerable.
i ordered rose lemonade and the breakfast plate, which had sweet potato biscuits with boudin patties, truffle grits, and crab boil poached eggs. i really enjoyed the truffle grits and thought they had a great flavor. however, i can eat grits plain, and my father said he didn't notice much flavor when he tried them, so take that how you will. i did not notice much flavor difference in the crab boil poached eggs from regular poached eggs, but they were still good. the sweet potato biscuits with boudin we're just a touch disappointing. they were still good, but i expected them to be better. nothing about the biscuit's flavor said "sweet potato" to me, and combined with the boudin, it made for a mouthful that would've really benefited from some sort of condiment.
the rose lemonade was weird, like drinking perfume. i guess i should've expected that. it wasn't bad, but i wouldn't order it again.
my father ordered the duck sausage po-boy. i got to taste a piece of the sausage and couldn't tell the difference from regular sausage. my father didn't rave about the po-boy, but he also didn't rant about it. considering he's new orleans born and raised, with very specific ideas about po-boys, that's probably the best outcome one could expect for a restaurant like this.
for being in the french quarter, it's reasonably priced. new orleans is short on places where you can take vegetarians/vegans, especially if they want to eat more than salad and you still want meat, so this is a good option to keep in mind.
