the restaurant itself is small and a bit stuffy with an area in the back corridor of what seems like the entrance of a residential building/law firm. the service was good. but then again, we were the only ones there when we arrived. the menus is simple with a variety of veggie options for those vegetarians that have a hard time finding food in the french quarter.  neither the count or i are vegetarians and therefore opted for the  grilled pork and shrimp bahn mi  and the  cuban sandwich . while waiting for our lunch to arrive i was becoming more and more skeptical as the place really did not seem clean. i’m sure if i snuck in the back i would find enough to turn me off. but what you can’t see doesnt hurt you…. i guess. perhaps the grimy state of

kinda quirky. but the food was scrumptious. i had the daily soup, with boudin sausage. the definite highlight of the meal, however, was the bacon, praline sundae. yes, bacon and pralines and whipped cream and ice-cream. i'm not really one to take pictures of my food, but in this case, i had to. wanted to make it the cover of my christmas card -- it was so worthy.

i think i know why so many people have claimed service issues at this place. while waiting for my food, i observed waitresses doing the job of bartenders, expos, busboys and hostesses. it is a small restaurant with only about 8 or so tables, so i guess maybe they would hire more ppl if it was bigger. the food portions are small and price is higher than expected, but it was good.

very innovative. some dishes were hit or miss but mostly hit. get the ice cream with bacon and black sea salt if it's on the dessert menu. unreal!

the flavors and ingredients from the cornucopia of da bayou tasting menu truly did seem to travel the world, and with each course, it was a chance to see how my palate would be challenged and rewarded. even with their affinity for quotation marks, i wouldn’t hesitate to revisit the menu at the green goddess especially with the korean pork belly calling my name.

green goddess is my favorite restaurant in new orleans, and i recommend it highly to anyone who loves good food and has an open mind. i ask for the open mind because gg is not a traditional restaurant. it doesn’t follow rules or fit in boxes. i can’t tell you what kind of food it serves, other than that it tastes great. the ambience can be described as awesome. helpful, no?

not very vegetarian. i assumed this was a vegetarian restaurant but there were only a couple of vegetarian options. my impression of this place was that it was more about the alcohol than the food.

this is a review about the service, we did not even get to try the food. my wife and i went in and asked for a table for two. we were told it would be about twenty minutes. there is really nowhere to wait in this restaurant so they take your phone number and tell you they will call you when your table is ready. no problem really, we went right across the street and waited at another restaurant's bar... and waited... and waited. we waited over an hour. my wife finally had to walk over to see what was happening, our table was ready but no one had bothered to call us. we were seated (quant little table right next to a noisy ice machine),and we looked over the menu. the menu itself is a rambling list of dishes ranging from $8 to $30, it seemed like some things could be appetizers and others could be main dishes. so i asked our waitress to please explain the menu a bit... the waitress very condescendingly told me the menu is "self explanatory" and gave some bizarre explanation that made really no sense. i was still confused and asked again and was told by her "as i just explained...." my wife, now confused and a bit put off by our waitress's comments asked again about the menu. the waitress replied "as i just explained to him..." again with nonsensical explanation. well, we had heard and had enough at this point. we walked out of the restaurant. i have never experienced anything like this before. the level of rudeness we experienced was off the charts. this place seems to be getting some buzz right now and clearly they have bought into their own press and treat their customers very poorly.

mixed feelings. portions are a bit pricy for small plates, which were 13-20 each. probably needed 3 to make a meal for two of us. drinks were outstanding. waitstaff was varied and knowledgeable. we came in the winter, but it seems like a great place to sit outside and have a long meal with a couple of unique cocktails. multiple vegetarian friendly options.
cons: value
pros: delicious, innovative, vegetarian friendly, good drinks and wine list

thoughtful cooking!. this is a lovely little place, where the chef's have a true passion for cooking and bringing the best that their fresh ingredients have to offer. the grits with truffles and the duck gravy are magnificent. wouldn't hesitate to eat there again! very small - but worth any wait.

omg-dess!. lunch wed-mon 11am-3:30pm, dinner thu-sun 6pm-11pm. casual dining, outdoor seating available. a hidden gem down the exchange place alley off bienville street, this petite cafe' wowed us! the applewood-smoked duck & soba noodles (the daily special for $15) was exceptional - thin slices of duck breast over noodles with a fig-blueberry-sesame compote, pickled turnips, almonds, and a wonderful peach-basil pepper jelly. my wife loved the caramelized heirloom tomato (also $15), three huge slices covered in manchego cheese, toasted almonds, garlic aioli and green onions. hope you have as great a dining experience as we did!

different, amazing,. i love this place. it has different food that i have not experienced at any other restaurant ever. i also like that it has alot of vegetarian options that arent just a basic salad, that took actual creativity and skill to make... and it has meat-centered options for those carnivorous folks.

you have to understand what you are getting into when you go to green goddess. im not trying to be a food snot here, but its not a friggin' chilis. its a awesome atmosphere, laid back, staffed by knowledgeable people and the chefs love and know food. they dont serve you something they arent passionate about. so dont expect to go there and get a cheeseburger and dont go there if you are looking for basic staples. the way the menu is set up, you are supposed to try a few dishes and share them with dinner friend. thats the best way to experience this place. get a few different tastes and plates and such. yeah, its not the cheapest way to dine, but its worth the money you pay, . you are paying for ingredients that are hard to get and not found everywhere. its also not a meant to be a quick bite. sit back, relax, and enjoy a bottle of wine

speaking of that, you can get really really good wine for very decent fancyish restaurant wine prices. we got a bottle for $32 that was amazing.

in short, im sorry if this sounded stuck up, but go there. its good. its very different.
