thoughtful, creative cooking and dismal service. after waiting an hour for our cocktails, which were delicious and well-crafted, we proceeded to receive some of the worst service in the whole of our combined experience. when alerted to the fact that we had been sitting for over 45 minutes with nothing on the table, the waiter came to us and informed our table that he had completely forgotten to put in our order- cocktails and all. no real apology was given and we then received our cocktails, appetizers and entrees all within 10 minutes or so.
thefoodwas thoughtfully created. mr. pickles had the korean- cajun pork special, which was beautifully presented and very tasty. i had the fish special, which was also very good. the cheeses were very nice; it was the best aged gouda i've ever had and the red pepper tapanade was artful and flavorful.
but back to the service. when the time came to settle the bill we halfway expected that something would have been automatically taken off given the long and unapologetic wait but it was all there. no mention of the inconvenience at all. we nicely asked that the cocktails, for which we had waited an hour, be taken off the bill. that's when the waiter snapped. he was indignant and rude and argued that this request a huge burden on him. he pulled up a chair and sat, arguing with us, stating that we were, "really putting the thumbscrews on him." the cocktails were ultimately taken off the bill, though we did not see ryan again.
unfortunately, i will never return to the green goddess. thefoodis very good, thoughtful and creative, but nofoodis worth service that bad. period.
