the dark roast

usually "a greatplaceto hangout" is just that, a greatplaceto hangout. but with the dark roast you get the additional benefit of being served the best coffee/hot chocolate in town along with classic rock. what's not to love?

i heard a lot about this place, and being a coffee lover i had to visit aplacethat's named "the dark roast" 😂
the ambience is good! i liked their coaters and their set of got.
coming to beverages! we tried a lot of them some were good some were not so good tbh! i asked for the dark once, so i tried the dark brew and vietnam, dark brew was not so dark and vietnam was ohkay! i was actually hoping better! oreo shake and french something were good! n the coffee with milk were also good, basically if you like your coffee sweet then this is the place!
now coming to food!!
i'll be very frank! the sandwiches were not to the mark! we had bbq paneer s/w, and actually salt was less and it was bald, i didn't like it! cheese s/w was good! falafal s/w was also okay! heat wave pizza was too tangy otherwise it was good! cheesy garlic bread was good! bbq fries were not so good!!
tbh i heard a lot about thisplaceand i was disappointed!
service is also good but they take too much time! my advice, send the things those r ready! i mean if i have ordered 3 sandwiches then it's not mandatory to send all the 3 together! same goes with shakes!
the owner was friendly enough, he even taught us the game 😂😂 and their menu is creative i'll give them that!
must visit once!!!

i have one really big complaint, no matter how good the food orplaceis, i will never return because they have a policy where they do not parcel the remaining food.
when i asked them if they'd rather trash the food instead they said yes and sorry this is the policy.
this is utter disregard for food and it's wastage.
really hope you can change that.

theplaceis not bad. good coffee and chocolate shake. the french onion sandwich was really good. the nachos were average. no much flavour and the nachos itself were not great.
the service is really fast which is a plus.

the moment you enter theplaceyour expectations are surely going to rise with the way theplacehas been set. that's where all the good part ends.

we ordered a classic cappuccino since the menu boasts of nothing but coffee in ever line, a tdr signature, and the tandoori grill sandwich. after a while the waiter was approaching us with the tray and we were wondering why would he come to us with an empty one. suddenly we realized there was a small, infact miniature cup of cappuccino placed on it. that is what you get for ₹130. that's the cost part and we did not let that dampen our spirits. went ahead and took a sip of the cappuccino and to be honest, that hurt. the coffee was the worst i've ever had in my life.

give a child a cup of hot milk and coffee powder and he would turn up with coffee far better than theirs. when the waiter came with the tdr signature, we discussed the issue of quality with him and we were taken aback by his nonchalant attitude towards our concern. then we asked him whether they had any feedback mechanism in place, and came to know that they did not. so we asked him to call their manager/superior so that we could convey our concern. to our surprise, their owners (perhaps they are the managers as well) went a step further and did not even come to talk to us. 

so, if you ever want to go to aplaceand see the height of insensitive nonchalant behavior towards customers, then the dark roast it is. otherwise, i would say don't even think of going to this place, because there a thousand more cafes in ahmedabad which serve coffee,shakes and food a million times better than the dark boast, err, the dark roast.

we visited this cafe on a super hot monday afternoon yearning for a good of coffee. our order consisted of an iced coffee, a frappe and a french onion sandwich. now when you visit aplacenamed 'the dark roast' you expect a coffee that would satisfy your taste buds and blow your mind but that was not the case. have had better coffee at 'non coffee' places.

the sandwich though, it was amazing. perfectly grilled sandwich filled with caramelised onions and mushrooms served with a mayo dip was a delight.

over all theplacelooks quite interesting but not so good coffee was quite a bummer for us.

today visited thisplace...a compact two floor cafe with a corner allocated for books and games ...good option to fill in the gap or to hangout with friends

ordered bbq paneer sandwich....very tasty and quite heavy ...enough for one person.

ordered arrabiata pasta...it was good but not the best one.

ordered oreo shake based on the reviews ...again it was good...but had better than this at other places.

it's new, it's fresh. we have been here about 3-4 times now and love it. the coffee is good, the pizza and pbj is also very good. decentplaceto sit/hang out. good job you guys. just make sure you keep up the taste and quality of service.

a lovelyplacewith a lot of rock and pop playing i'm the background.they served me a caramel oreo shake which was insanely good. the pizza was small but spicy and i loved it. my friend ordered the blueberry smoothe which was good too. the staff seemed a bit lost, but are good. pasta penne was too tangy that i lost the essence of other ingredients.

mint mojito was okayish.

thisplaceactually knows how to roast a coffee. it was a lovely evening well spent with all the different types of coffee and food. 
espresso - medium and dark : i have a really special thing for black coffee. it boosts up the body and makes u feel energetic. their quality of coffee beans is very superb. black coffee roasted perfectly : 4/5
cafe bombon : this one is a proper balance of sweet and bitter. sweetness below and bitterness above. after stirring it, taste gets perfectly blended together : 4/5
blackgrape floater : this had lots of ice and it was more sour than sweet. so i didn't quite like this one : 3/5
tdr fries : these fries were cooked perfectly. crispy and filled with sauces : 3/5
beetroot and basil pizza : so when the name of beetroot pizza comes to mind, everyone of us would think how can one like this pizza but this is where everyone gets proved wrong. it didn't even occur to me that it does have beetroot in it because they added less beetroot and more cheese which balanced the taste and makes it worth having : 4/5
spicy classic cheese grilled : this is a sandwich which is a mixture of spice and cheese. it was tasty but bread could be more crispy : 3.5/5

yesterday i ordered flinstone pizza that is a twist of margherita which is yummy , full of cheese.
this is the first time i have tried something from the dark roast.
would love to visit theplacesoon.

i have a fetish for ordering whipped cream with black coffee, which often makes people wonder skeptically about my awesomely-cultivated-amazing-taste-in-beverages.
but thisplacehas my special beverage on the menu! cafe vienna it is!
the beetroot pizza is a must have!

very bad coffee experience. the only good thing about thisplacewere the games and the ambience. i've had bitter coffees and i enjoy them, but this was something very bad

one of the best cafes in ahmedabad that serves some amazing coffee, thisplaceis a haven for coffee lovers out there. apart from coffee, they also offer delicious pizzas, pasta, falafel and more. a niceplaceto hang out with friends over the weekend, there is good music, great food and fun games to enjoy here.
must try: coffee, pasta, hot chocolate, basil 🍕

if genuine coffee is something that you are looking forward to, this is the onlyplacein the city! this comes after having tried almost all top shot places in the town and a failed attempt to get anything above the authentic taste and texture of coffee that they serve. it has been almost 4 years and thisplacehas never disappointed me in terms of consistency of quality. hygiene is a ++ at this place. to sum it all up, there is no betterplacethan this if you are looking forward to your perfect cup of coffee with perfect ambience and hygiene!! don’t forget to try their malabar french press and barrel aged cold brew - my personal favourites!
