the dark roast

i heard a lot about this place, and being a coffee lover i had to visit a place that's named "the dark roast" 😂
the ambience is good! i liked their coaters and their set of got.
coming to beverages! we tried a lot of them some were good some were not so good tbh! i asked for the dark once, so i tried the dark brew and vietnam, dark brew was not so dark and vietnam was ohkay! i was actually hoping better! oreo shake and french something were good! n the coffee with milk were also good, basically if you like your coffee sweet then this is the place!
now coming to food!!
i'll be very frank! the sandwiches were not to the mark! we had bbq paneer s/w, and actually salt was less and it was bald, i didn't like it! cheese s/w was good! falafal s/w was also okay! heat wave pizza was too tangy otherwise it was good! cheesy garlic bread was good! bbq fries were not so good!!
tbh i heard a lot about this place and i was disappointed!
service is also good but they take too much time! my advice, send the things those r ready! i mean if i haveordered3 sandwiches then it's not mandatory to send all the 3 together! same goes with shakes!
the owner was friendly enough, he even taught us the game 😂😂 and their menu is creative i'll give them that!
must visit once!!!

the dark roast is a small cafe with a very creative interior. they serve pizzas, sandwiches, fries, shakes, smoothies and much more. iordereda mocha frappe and it was really good. the pizza that iorderedwas heat wave and i must say that it was one of the best pizza's i have ever had. i loved the crust of the pizza and the chilli oil which was used on it as well.
the dark roast serves one of the best fries in the city. iorderedbbq fries and it was so amazing. the way they served surely was mouth watering.

the moment you enter the place your expectations are surely going to rise with the way the place has been set. that's where all the good part ends.

weordereda classic cappuccino since the menu boasts of nothing but coffee in ever line, a tdr signature, and the tandoori grill sandwich. after a while the waiter was approaching us with the tray and we were wondering why would he come to us with an empty one. suddenly we realized there was a small, infact miniature cup of cappuccino placed on it. that is what you get for ₹130. that's the cost part and we did not let that dampen our spirits. went ahead and took a sip of the cappuccino and to be honest, that hurt. the coffee was the worst i've ever had in my life.

give a child a cup of hot milk and coffee powder and he would turn up with coffee far better than theirs. when the waiter came with the tdr signature, we discussed the issue of quality with him and we were taken aback by his nonchalant attitude towards our concern. then we asked him whether they had any feedback mechanism in place, and came to know that they did not. so we asked him to call their manager/superior so that we could convey our concern. to our surprise, their owners (perhaps they are the managers as well) went a step further and did not even come to talk to us. 

so, if you ever want to go to a place and see the height of insensitive nonchalant behavior towards customers, then the dark roast it is. otherwise, i would say don't even think of going to this place, because there a thousand more cafes in ahmedabad which serve coffee,shakes and food a million times better than the dark boast, err, the dark roast.

fancy a coffee date? are you a coffee lover? artsy or workaholic, if caffeine is your therapy, don't think, just be here! a nice little two storey café, with colourful hues of green and blue interior, artsy and eye catching. with a live cricket projection for our cricket lovers, while you enjoy your food. impressively created menu.orderedmocha and irish coffee, made upto perfection. i'm sure the rest of coffees they offer would be great too! cheesy garlic bread are sure different but do not meet the expectations they describe on menu. indoor games like chess and uno, plug points for those workaholics also available. crowded but not messy. a lil slow on service but could be the weekend. staff could be trained with a lil more knowledge on dishes on the menu. justified prices. overall a good experience, sure not to miss! you'd always come back for more coffee, whatever your type!

a lovely place with a lot of rock and pop playing i'm the background.they served me a caramel oreo shake which was insanely good. the pizza was small but spicy and i loved it. my friendorderedthe blueberry smoothe which was good too. the staff seemed a bit lost, but are good. pasta penne was too tangy that i lost the essence of other ingredients.

mint mojito was okayish.

the ambience is super artsy, colourful and sophisticated. they have a very few games and a limited collection of books. the menu is very limited too.orderedthe tdr fries which was a perfect combination of spicy and tangy. the mint mojito was a little sweeter than one would usually prefer. service is just fine. staff needs to be trained just a tad bit better.

yesterday iorderedflinstone pizza that is a twist of margherita which is yummy , full of cheese.
this is the first time i have tried something from the dark roast.
would love to visit the place soon.

i have searched long and hard for good coffee in his city and have drawn a blank almost everywhere. i visited the dark roast hoping my search would end right here but i guess that would need a couple of more visits and a lot more coffees for that!

situated in prahlad nagar, you can spot this one next to a few home decor stores. it has two floors but they had a private event on the first floor so only the lower floor was available to walk ins. lovely interiors. sort of took me back to my favourite little cafes in mumbai and bangalore.

i walked in early evening when it was still empty and managed to find a table for myself. i set up my workstation and browsed through their wide selection of hot and cold beverages.

i started with the tdr special which was a cold coffee with a caramel, crushed coffee beans and lots of whipped cream. the drink was a pleasure for my eyes but very average for my tastebuds. the crushed coffee beans added no flavour but made the texture of the drink less appealing for me.

i alsoordereda falafel sandwich and it was quite tasty. the bread was generously buttered and grilled to perfection.

the service was prompt but the personnel needs a little more training.

what a café!!!! really cool sitting arrangements. amazing coffee.orderedirish coffee and mocha and cheese garlic bread. coffee was awesome! cheese garlic bread not so amazing as expected as the menu said. the music was missing.. but overall a wonderful experience. the menu is really cool. a little slow service but it was a sunday so i understand how busy it can be.. totally awesome experience..

it's located on main sg highway near prahladnagar (very easy to locate). it has double seating arrangement on ground and first floor. weorderedpasta and a dessert. both the items tasted good. ambiance is cool. delivery is fast. rates are normal. it can be recommended for casual hangout/coffee/meals.

simply best to start a day!
zomato guy generally takes too mich time but if you have it there, hot, it's going to make your day!

i hadordereda mix sauce pasta which did not even taste like a mix sauce pasta and the pasta was uncooked and raw.

totally not edible

staff was polite, ambience was great, calm and food was amazing. weorderedcappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and jerked spice fries.

the coffee was really good, it was strong and refreshing. the pasta was very creamy and delicious. i would definitely consider going there again for the coffee as i really loved that. also, it's a very cosy ambience to relax and also work if you want to!
