iftar menu.

they presents two menus during ramadan. for dhs175, guests are treated to dishes such as chaat, batakh salad, gunpowder prawns, chicken makhan malai and more. the second package, for dhs130 per person, serves a smaller  menu featuring dishes such as caribbean goat curry, butter chicken and dal moradabad.
dhs130 for five-courses, dhs175 for extended five-courses.

batakh salad.

a refreshing tangy salad a perfect combination of variety of greens topped with mustard lime dressing and shredded duck. too good.

dal moradabad

the dal moradabad is a perfect combination of yellow split mung lentil served with pakwaan crisp and their signature indian chutney. for tantalizing your tastebuds mix it all up and enjoy the delicious feast.

gunpowder prawns.

jumbo prawns cooked in butter and garlic mixed with gunpowder masala for a perfect burst of flavor.

chicken makhan malai.

simply loved this one soft and succulent boneless pieces of grilled chicken topped with creamy sauce. a perfect mouthwatering treat.

butter chicken.

i was never a fan of butter chicken but this place truly deserves an applaud for serving the authentic taste. not so sweet not so tangy a perfect balanced butter chicken curry. rich and creamy perfect in taste. served with multigrain naan. truely outstanding.

caribbean goat curry.

slow cooked goat meat cooked with a blend of indian curry masala and some veggies which made it a perfect wholesome meal.

malai kesar sundae.

ended my meal on a sweet note a perfect treat to satisfy your sweettooth craving with beautifully presented indian version of kulfi served with tutti futti base topped with ghevar lattice. a must try.

overall experience.

🇮🇳🤩 today's business lunch was a joy at newrestaurant@thecrossingdubai at h hotel szr near dwtc. they opened in january and are already accumulating some impressive reviews thanks to a quite unique "cross cultural elevated indian cuisine". the crossing is fully licensed and has stylish chilling cabinets displaying the best wines to accompany their a la carte and other speciality offerings. there's a beautiful long bar where they serve cocktails. check out the lush green garden terrace that looks so inviting. i'd say this is the perfect venue when you're looking for a decent meal and a contemporary, calm vibe! 🥰

what a fantasticrestaurant, or shall i say indeed a ‘crossing of flavors ‘ with such an interesting menu . the crossing @the h hotel sets high expectations , the team delivers even better !!

a menu that is impossible to find anywhere else
.
i tried a few very interesting dishes , courtesy recommendations of their knowledgable & cohesive staff matze kebab ( the best i’ve ever tried)
lal maas steak ( can u imagine a steak & lal maas together ,

dal moradabadi ( vegetarians u will love the presentation , first time for me .. )

gunpowder prawns

lamb chops by the piece ( good concept )
the bengali mustard fish ( yumm) succulent chicken tikka & their keema fried rice .

their breads are quite innovative too .

the place has a buzzing vibe to it , so no matter how early you come , you will end up staying late :-)
coming back for sure very very soon to try their thukpa, rus omlette , afghan pulav & of course my favorite the matze kebab .

i was travelling from london to dubai on business and went to 'the crossing' at h dubai on my last evening.

therestaurantis at the ground floor of h hotel dubai - chic décor and the lighting is just right. lovely bar with a great selection of new and old wines.

but the true winner is the absolutely delicious food. i was famished after a busy day at work and ended up ordering quite a few bits - all the starters and the mains were simply mouth watering.

special mention to the gunpowder prawns and mutton pulao which was just heavenly.

definitely coming back again and it's hard to now have indian food anywhere else after 'the crossing' experience.

there has been too much brouhaha over different notions of great indian food over the years, with some people really going ott with 'molecules' and nitrogen and other absurd combinations. please, stop! good indian food is about wholesome ingredients, perfectly chosen meats and seafood, cultural secrets, and a chef that can take all this and toss it up into something spectacular. the crossing  (tc) has managed to do just this and a lot more! you first enter a very lovely lookingrestaurantwith some minimalism infused with contemporary style and are greeted by extremely friendly staff who really want you to enjoy your evening out. they are also very clued in on all the food, it's origin, what to pair it with, and how that particular story unfolded. kudos to really explaining everything with zest, passion, and heart! let's get one thing straight - tc is not out there to be another 'find dining but so-boring' restaurant. they are not cluttering tables with 17 glasses per person and more cutlery than a wedding demands. it's all about simplicity and passion here. as soon as you settle in, the first thing you will probably notice (apart from the brilliant music) are the faces of the other patrons pure joy is what you will see. this really gives you a lot of confidence about the food. we ordered a lot of food because everything sounded so good! gunpowder prawns, butter chicken, saag (which i have never ordered before, ever), dal moradabad (fantastic!), mango seafood curry,  keema rice (the simplicity and flavours of this dish were amazing), lamb and chicken grills, and breads. each dish's level of spice and taste/flavour was a 100% on point. there was a little quirkiness in every dish too, which only added to the brilliance of the experience. again, nothing even remotely ott (think in the lines of wearing a gucci suit with some air jordans or yeezys - brilliant, huh??) honestly, i had not enjoyed some of the ingredients being paired together in so many ways as i did at tc. some brilliant research work done on our country's varied gastronomies and many exhaustive hours spent in the kitchen, for sure. overall, highly recommended to everyone who wants a taste of the india that effortlessly mixes the north with the south and the east with the west and then does it all again! i'll be back soon, with a new bunch of people i can take there to showcase what indians do best - serve and surprise.

this place is an absolute must-try. went there with 4 couples and kids. we ordered mix of starters (paneer tikka, chat, dal pakwan, chicken tikka); main course (sag, paneer, mutton and chicken) - all dishes were great and delicious. it doesn’t make your fingers get coloured (no artificial colours used) and you don’t feel full or sleepy (food is not greasy).
one observation, people with spicy palate might need to ask the chef to make it more spicy since this is for a broader visitors- but you can always add some green chillies which we asked for on the side.
the ambience is great. thisrestaurantcan easily be mistaken for a european fine dinerestaurantwith very classy decor. great outside seating in the winters. light neutral music which allows you to get the vibe but still can chit chat while enjoying your food.
the alchohol range is great- although we order much. the malbec (red wine) was great and the mocktails were amazing.
the biggest highlights was the deserts. we ordered 5 varieties which range the length and breadth of india/world - kulfi (north), jackfruit (south), yogurt/bundi (bihar), a french and chocolate (global).
this is a newrestaurantand in my humble opinion- a hidden gem!

it’s amazing how simple food & basic nutritious ingredients can elevate the taste and have bold flavours. this is exactly what you will get as a part of your unforgettable experience at the brand-new shinyrestaurant🌟@thecrossing located at @thehhotel

the team at @thecrossing is truly redefining indian cuisine & showing the world that #indianfood does not always have to be rich & heavy ! it can also be healthy & light✨ !

they bring back the nostalgia of life on the subcontinent, with all its blurred lines and chaos. the dining experience here is immersed in the nostalgia of secret indian family recipes, our countries diversity & how crisscrossed our culture is!

they also celebrate all the foreign influences that have helped evolve indian food over the years & offer you the best version of modern indian dining but keeping the essence of these dishes intact.

every dish on the menu has an untold story, so true to the diversity & creativity my country has to offer !

what blew my mind is, every server despite their nationality celebrated indian cuisine & was brilliantly trained to walk us though every dish served & its pulse 💚 truly impressive …

the crossing has the capability to take modern indian cuisine to the world map, a huge pat on their back for taking up this task and smashing it out of the park !

some of the most memorable dishes on our table were –
✨small plates - chaat, dal moradabad, ragi khoozh, gunpowder prawns
✨grills – paneer tikka, matze kebabs , chicken makhan malai
✨curry – mango curry with seafood, dal makhani, saag
this was served with assorted breads and steamed rice
✨dessert – serradura, chocolate bake, malai kesar sundae & dahi boondi
