indian culture is as immersive and immense as it’s culinary. you will bring back all your nostalgia from your family recipes, showcasing just how diverse we are as a country, and how crisscrossed our culture is!
recipes from the kitchen of historic rulers to the contemporary grammable food for the millennials, there is just everything on their menu.

the iftarmenuwas also indicative of the celebrations of our diversity. some recipes from the indian coastline like the gunpowder prawns served with melt in mouth homemade pav
(my very fav) to the indian saag, the wholemenuis split between small plates, grills, grains and curries, it’s designed so that you can try a bit of everything.

available for aed 130 & aed 175, both a lavish five course menu, my favorites were:

dal moradabad
gunpowder prawns
chicken makhan
butter chicken
malai kesar sunday

special mention to our server lucy who was the warmest and most accommodating to our request.

many thanks to chef arjun for he came specially to meet us and add on his personalized touch by sharing his travel stories and culinary journey with crossings

fancy having lavish iftaar this ramadan ?
head out to crossings at the h hotel, to devour in fine dining experience which takes you to a nostalgic journey of culinary adventure across india. with a 4-course set menu, be prepared to be taken on a trip that will revitalize your taste buds. they have something for every spice lover with dishes catering to multicultural palettes. dishes are diverse – food from the rajput kitchens, secret family recipes from northeast india and traditional coastal fare. you’ll also note influences from the caribbean, portugal, france and britain, all crossing their way into the chaos of this vibrant cuisine.
coming back to the dining experience; as you enter, you are greeted by a gentle lady greeting you with a smile and escorts you to your choice of seating after confirming the reservation. i was astounded by the alluring interiors that the place has.  a large dining room with a long bar and high stools provides a handy spot for a drink pre- or post-meal. they also have outdoor seating which is beautifully lit up and has an astonishing view of world trade centre.
for iftaar, they have a 4 course setmenuand our lady host; ms. lucy was very helpful and ensured that we had pleasant dining experience.
for starters we had :
🌟dal moradabad – an innovative version of dal pakwaan
🌟chaat – not your usual chaat. it was a chaat served on different green leaves (apart from palak leaves).
🌟paneer tikka- their in- house paneer is to die for. soft and succulent just melts in your mouth.
our mains were:
🌟saag: medley of five mountain grown green leaves with a tadka of ghee and garlic just won my taste buds.
🌟dal makhani- one can never go wrong with this dish.
our meals were complimented with assorted roti basket
it was now time to indulge in the most sinful experience ; desserts which were:
🌟serradura – a unique dessert with jackfruit, cream, cheese and milk
🌟malai kesar sundae- pan ice cream served with ghevar lattice.

each dish has a story behind it and special mention to chef arjun for narrating these tales to us.
the food was an absolute reminisce of old memories without being too stuffed.

it’s amazing how simple food & basic nutritious ingredients can elevate the taste and have bold flavours. this is exactly what you will get as a part of your unforgettable experience at the brand-new shiny restaurant 🌟@thecrossing located at @thehhotel

the team at @thecrossing is truly redefining indian cuisine & showing the world that #indianfood does not always have to be rich & heavy ! it can also be healthy & light✨ !

they bring back the nostalgia of life on the subcontinent, with all its blurred lines and chaos. the dining experience here is immersed in the nostalgia of secret indian family recipes, our countries diversity & how crisscrossed our culture is!

they also celebrate all the foreign influences that have helped evolve indian food over the years & offer you the best version of modern indian dining but keeping the essence of these dishes intact.

every dish on themenuhas an untold story, so true to the diversity & creativity my country has to offer !

what blew my mind is, every server despite their nationality celebrated indian cuisine & was brilliantly trained to walk us though every dish served & its pulse 💚 truly impressive …

the crossing has the capability to take modern indian cuisine to the world map, a huge pat on their back for taking up this task and smashing it out of the park !

the restaurant is brand new and we heard about this from a friend which led us there for a friday dinner. for sure, prior booking is needed given how busy the place is.

we were ushered to our table as we reached. crew was very helpful and alert all the time look i was to assist.

themenuwas was surprisingly innovative as one may not find the typical curries available on any other indian restaurant! this is evident from the starter items like the chaat which is a combination of crispy leaves like kale etc combined with the traditional flavors of chaat. loved it. we also tried the gun powder prawn which was excellent too. the starters were served with pav (indian bread).

for the main course, we ordered wallima ki korma which is an excellent dish with lamb shank which was so tender. next was the dish with jack fruit which was again very different and full of flavor.

while ordering, we heard a whistling sound at the next table followed by an excellent aroma - we could not help asking what that was. it was mutton pulao served in a “pressure cooker” which we ended up ordering too. it was awesome.

in addition we ordered a bread basket which was a combination of three different forms of indian bread - again these are not the routine ones we get in other places. all are gluten free and from different grains other than wheat.

although the portions seem to be a bit small, but somehow it was quite filling. so we hardly had space to try the dessert menu. however we went for the kulfi which was very tasteful and served a bit differently which enhanced the flavors.

we saw the drinksmenubut did not try as we were driving. next visit will surely by cab so we can try the cocktailmenutoo.

overall, a must visit for trying an innovative indian menu. cheers.
