always on the lookout for decent indian restaurants which offersgreatambience, a rich culinary experience, without compromising on taste.

the eclectic spread harbors cultural diversity within its cuisine, not only from its indian roots but also other parts of the world.

starting with your dates and laban, onto your starters containing dal moraddabad which is a burst of flavor in your mouth , onto the gun powder prawns, chicken makhan malai & ending with their creamy malai kesar sundae that’ll take you to cloud 9.

if you want good food without a doubt, this is where you should be headed next !!

i was travelling from london to dubai on business and went to 'the crossing' at h dubai on my last evening.

the restaurant is at the ground floor of h hotel dubai - chic décor and the lighting is just right. lovely bar with agreatselection of new and old wines.

but the true winner is the absolutely delicious food. i was famished after a busy day at work and ended up ordering quite a few bits - all the starters and the mains were simply mouth watering.

special mention to the gunpowder prawns and mutton pulao which was just heavenly.

definitely coming back again and it's hard to now have indian food anywhere else after 'the crossing' experience.

there has been too much brouhaha over different notions ofgreatindian food over the years, with some people really going ott with 'molecules' and nitrogen and other absurd combinations. please, stop! good indian food is about wholesome ingredients, perfectly chosen meats and seafood, cultural secrets, and a chef that can take all this and toss it up into something spectacular. the crossing  (tc) has managed to do just this and a lot more! you first enter a very lovely looking restaurant with some minimalism infused with contemporary style and are greeted by extremely friendly staff who really want you to enjoy your evening out. they are also very clued in on all the food, it's origin, what to pair it with, and how that particular story unfolded. kudos to really explaining everything with zest, passion, and heart! let's get one thing straight - tc is not out there to be another 'find dining but so-boring' restaurant. they are not cluttering tables with 17 glasses per person and more cutlery than a wedding demands. it's all about simplicity and passion here. as soon as you settle in, the first thing you will probably notice (apart from the brilliant music) are the faces of the other patrons pure joy is what you will see. this really gives you a lot of confidence about the food. we ordered a lot of food because everything sounded so good! gunpowder prawns, butter chicken, saag (which i have never ordered before, ever), dal moradabad (fantastic!), mango seafood curry,  keema rice (the simplicity and flavours of this dish were amazing), lamb and chicken grills, and breads. each dish's level of spice and taste/flavour was a 100% on point. there was a little quirkiness in every dish too, which only added to the brilliance of the experience. again, nothing even remotely ott (think in the lines of wearing a gucci suit with some air jordans or yeezys - brilliant, huh??) honestly, i had not enjoyed some of the ingredients being paired together in so many ways as i did at tc. some brilliant research work done on our country's varied gastronomies and many exhaustive hours spent in the kitchen, for sure. overall, highly recommended to everyone who wants a taste of the india that effortlessly mixes the north with the south and the east with the west and then does it all again! i'll be back soon, with a new bunch of people i can take there to showcase what indians do best - serve and surprise.

this place is an absolute must-try. went there with 4 couples and kids. we ordered mix of starters (paneer tikka, chat, dal pakwan, chicken tikka); main course (sag, paneer, mutton and chicken) - all dishes weregreatand delicious. it doesn’t make your fingers get coloured (no artificial colours used) and you don’t feel full or sleepy (food is not greasy).
one observation, people with spicy palate might need to ask the chef to make it more spicy since this is for a broader visitors- but you can always add some green chillies which we asked for on the side.
the ambience is great. this restaurant can easily be mistaken for a european fine dine restaurant with very classy decor.greatoutside seating in the winters. light neutral music which allows you to get the vibe but still can chit chat while enjoying your food.
the alchohol range is great- although we order much. the malbec (red wine) wasgreatand the mocktails were amazing.
the biggest highlights was the deserts. we ordered 5 varieties which range the length and breadth of india/world - kulfi (north), jackfruit (south), yogurt/bundi (bihar), a french and chocolate (global).
this is a new restaurant and in my humble opinion- a hidden gem!

the crossing, new kid in town… and i must say kudos to the team. lead by chef arjun singh, excellent service staff… lion (service personnel) tookgreatcare of us.
the concept is where cultures meet , amalgamations of best of flavors from 46 cities of india.

we relished our meal. each dish carried its distinct flavors. we loved the chicken makhan wala(starter), well done, succulent and soft. for the mains the taste of .. butter chicken, manglorean chicken and dal makhani would definitely be taking us back.
i have reviewed over 1200 restaurants in uae and one of the best butter chicken is right here…

business lunch is at 95 & 125 aed.

loved the experience. highly recommended

the crossing @thecrossingdubai at the h hotel offers a truly unique indian cuisine experience using quality produce cooked with a fine dining twist. when it comes to their creative menu, chef @arjunsingh86 has added a new dimension to indigenous and foreign ingredients striving to stand out from the crowd and define a culinary experience unique to different parts of the country.

for appetizers, i would recommend the 'matze kebabs' (minced mutton kebab in fennel, mint and yoghurt curry) and the beautifully presented 'chaat' (shiso, mustard, kale, pepper leaf crips and chickpeas with mint and yoghurt).

in mains, please try the 'caribbean goat curry' (chock full of veggies in a slow-cooked rich coconut gravy) and the unassumingly delicious 'saag' (amaranthus, fenugreek greens, spinach and cornmeal).

the 'pink gin' with a gin and campari infused rasgulla packs a punch. try it if you like strong cocktails.

the crossing is agreatplace to get cocktails, relax in their beautifully set interiors (or outdoor area) and enjoy non-traditional tasting indian dishes that won't have you feeling heavy or reaching for fire extinguishers. agreataddition to the city culinary scene.
