🇮🇳🤩 today's business lunch was a joy at new restaurant @thecrossingdubai at h hotel szr near dwtc. they opened in january and are already accumulating some impressive reviews thanks to a quite unique "cross cultural elevated indian cuisine". thecrossingis fully licensed and has stylish chilling cabinets displaying the best wines to accompany their a la carte and other speciality offerings. there's a beautiful long bar where they serve cocktails. check out the lush green garden terrace that looks so inviting. i'd say this is the perfect venue when you're looking for a decent meal and a contemporary, calm vibe! 🥰

fancy having lavish iftaar this ramadan ?
head out to crossings at the h hotel, to devour in fine dining experience which takes you to a nostalgic journey of culinary adventure across india. with a 4-course set menu, be prepared to be taken on a trip that will revitalize your taste buds. they have something for every spice lover with dishes catering to multicultural palettes. dishes are diverse – food from the rajput kitchens, secret family recipes from northeast india and traditional coastal fare. you’ll also note influences from the caribbean, portugal, france and britain, allcrossingtheir way into the chaos of this vibrant cuisine.
coming back to the dining experience; as you enter, you are greeted by a gentle lady greeting you with a smile and escorts you to your choice of seating after confirming the reservation. i was astounded by the alluring interiors that the place has.  a large dining room with a long bar and high stools provides a handy spot for a drink pre- or post-meal. they also have outdoor seating which is beautifully lit up and has an astonishing view of world trade centre.
for iftaar, they have a 4 course set menu and our lady host; ms. lucy was very helpful and ensured that we had pleasant dining experience.
for starters we had :
🌟dal moradabad – an innovative version of dal pakwaan
🌟chaat – not your usual chaat. it was a chaat served on different green leaves (apart from palak leaves).
🌟paneer tikka- their in- house paneer is to die for. soft and succulent just melts in your mouth.
our mains were:
🌟saag: medley of five mountain grown green leaves with a tadka of ghee and garlic just won my taste buds.
🌟dal makhani- one can never go wrong with this dish.
our meals were complimented with assorted roti basket
it was now time to indulge in the most sinful experience ; desserts which were:
🌟serradura – a unique dessert with jackfruit, cream, cheese and milk
🌟malai kesar sundae- pan ice cream served with ghevar lattice.

each dish has a story behind it and special mention to chef arjun for narrating these tales to us.
the food was an absolute reminisce of old memories without being too stuffed.
hungry yet?

dal moradabadi ( vegetarians u will love the presentation , first time for me .. )

gunpowder prawns

lamb chops by the piece ( good concept )
the bengali mustard fish ( yumm) succulent chicken tikka & their keema fried rice .

their breads are quite innovative too .

the place has a buzzing vibe to it , so no matter how early you come , you will end up staying late :-)

just came after a sumptuous & delicious meal at thecrossing! i can safely say that its the best indian food one can taste in dubai. apart from the fresh look & feel, ambience & personalized service that was just next level, it is the food that truly blew us away ! everything we were recommended was par excellence from the starters(prawn gun powder, chaat) , to the mains(meat pulao, raan, lal maas, mutton curry, butter chicken and a special mention for the dal makhni .....all absolute musts to try! and despite not having much room in the belly after such a elaborate spread , we just had to see what they had up their sleeves to please the sweet tooth & complete an exquisite meal .we went ahead with two recommended desserts and my word, were they delightful ! and to add the icing to the cake , we did not feel heavy or uncomfortable well after the meal like one can after eating indian food outside of one's home. that goes to show they have managed to make tasty food without it being too rich in oil , butter & spices. definitely going back to try the dishes we could not have just in one outing!

excellent food and experience at the crossing

thecrossingis a delightful experience, you go there expecting a lot and it lives up to your expectations. the ambience is subtle and classy, nothing is over the top, it’s not loud and it’s all about the food.

their focus is on good indian food, and from the lamb shank to the pulao it’s an absolute feast. we went there with a few friends and i’ve already recommended tc to so many folks, for their business lunch or otherwise. if you’re craving authentic, classy, mouth watering indian delicacies representing all parts of the country then tc it is!

there has been too much brouhaha over different notions of great indian food over the years, with some people really going ott with 'molecules' and nitrogen and other absurd combinations. please, stop! good indian food is about wholesome ingredients, perfectly chosen meats and seafood, cultural secrets, and a chef that can take all this and toss it up into something spectacular. the crossing  (tc) has managed to do just this and a lot more! you first enter a very lovely looking restaurant with some minimalism infused with contemporary style and are greeted by extremely friendly staff who really want you to enjoy your evening out. they are also very clued in on all the food, it's origin, what to pair it with, and how that particular story unfolded. kudos to really explaining everything with zest, passion, and heart! let's get one thing straight - tc is not out there to be another 'find dining but so-boring' restaurant. they are not cluttering tables with 17 glasses per person and more cutlery than a wedding demands. it's all about simplicity and passion here. as soon as you settle in, the first thing you will probably notice (apart from the brilliant music) are the faces of the other patrons pure joy is what you will see. this really gives you a lot of confidence about the food. we ordered a lot of food because everything sounded so good! gunpowder prawns, butter chicken, saag (which i have never ordered before, ever), dal moradabad (fantastic!), mango seafood curry,  keema rice (the simplicity and flavours of this dish were amazing), lamb and chicken grills, and breads. each dish's level of spice and taste/flavour was a 100% on point. there was a little quirkiness in every dish too, which only added to the brilliance of the experience. again, nothing even remotely ott (think in the lines of wearing a gucci suit with some air jordans or yeezys - brilliant, huh??) honestly, i had not enjoyed some of the ingredients being paired together in so many ways as i did at tc. some brilliant research work done on our country's varied gastronomies and many exhaustive hours spent in the kitchen, for sure. overall, highly recommended to everyone who wants a taste of the india that effortlessly mixes the north with the south and the east with the west and then does it all again! i'll be back soon, with a new bunch of people i can take there to showcase what indians do best - serve and surprise.

never have i ever had such amazing indian food! innovative and very delicious. each dish was super impressive. the chaat was so unique and the gunpowder prawns so flavourful. i would highly recommend their chicken makhan malai, it’s the yummiest malai boti i’ve ever tried! oh and the makhni daal though so basic was just indescribable! the food was not overly spicy like most indian food tends to get. you just gotta have their food to know what i’m talking about. highly recommend thecrossingif you like indian cuisine but with a fun twist. don’t forget the desserts! still wondering which was my favourite, the jackfruit tiramisu or the kulfa ice cream with roasted nuts 😍

it’s amazing how simple food & basic nutritious ingredients can elevate the taste and have bold flavours. this is exactly what you will get as a part of your unforgettable experience at the brand-new shiny restaurant 🌟@thecrossing located at @thehhotel

the team at @thecrossing is truly redefining indian cuisine & showing the world that #indianfood does not always have to be rich & heavy ! it can also be healthy & light✨ !

they bring back the nostalgia of life on the subcontinent, with all its blurred lines and chaos. the dining experience here is immersed in the nostalgia of secret indian family recipes, our countries diversity & how crisscrossed our culture is!

they also celebrate all the foreign influences that have helped evolve indian food over the years & offer you the best version of modern indian dining but keeping the essence of these dishes intact.

every dish on the menu has an untold story, so true to the diversity & creativity my country has to offer !

what blew my mind is, every server despite their nationality celebrated indian cuisine & was brilliantly trained to walk us though every dish served & its pulse 💚 truly impressive …

thecrossinghas the capability to take modern indian cuisine to the world map, a huge pat on their back for taking up this task and smashing it out of the park !

some of the most memorable dishes on our table were –
✨small plates - chaat, dal moradabad, ragi khoozh, gunpowder prawns
✨grills – paneer tikka, matze kebabs , chicken makhan malai
✨curry – mango curry with seafood, dal makhani, saag
this was served with assorted breads and steamed rice
✨dessert – serradura, chocolate bake, malai kesar sundae & dahi boondi

thecrossing@thecrossingdubai at the h hotel offers a truly unique indian cuisine experience using quality produce cooked with a fine dining twist. when it comes to their creative menu, chef @arjunsingh86 has added a new dimension to indigenous and foreign ingredients striving to stand out from the crowd and define a culinary experience unique to different parts of the country.

for appetizers, i would recommend the 'matze kebabs' (minced mutton kebab in fennel, mint and yoghurt curry) and the beautifully presented 'chaat' (shiso, mustard, kale, pepper leaf crips and chickpeas with mint and yoghurt).

in mains, please try the 'caribbean goat curry' (chock full of veggies in a slow-cooked rich coconut gravy) and the unassumingly delicious 'saag' (amaranthus, fenugreek greens, spinach and cornmeal).

the 'pink gin' with a gin and campari infused rasgulla packs a punch. try it if you like strong cocktails.

thecrossingis a great place to get cocktails, relax in their beautifully set interiors (or outdoor area) and enjoy non-traditional tasting indian dishes that won't have you feeling heavy or reaching for fire extinguishers. a great addition to the city culinary scene.

the crossings dubai is a newly opened, home-grown concept that explores different cuisines from remote parts of india. this is something between contemporary indian and what you would eat at your grandma’s house :).crossingis licensed, and it has replaced mumbai and co. it’s run by chef ankoor of zafran and peppermill fame. (images are attached de certain dishes. the complete dining experience can be checked at dine out dubai’s facebook page or crossing’s goggle maps review.) these are the dishes we sampled:

gunpowder prawns: the perfect hot starter, i loved the sauce.

chicken makhan malai: the chicken was very tender, very balanced, and the portion was big enough to be a main.

matze kebab: they come in a pair, and they are perfect for those who have a thing for mutton.

chaat: loved this one because i have a thing for palak pakora.

lal maas: restaurant’s version of rib-eye with curry sauce. generous portion and a great-quality steak, it was the perfect main course.

bengali mustard fish: i was obsessed with this dish with everything from the texture to the flavor. underneath the fish, there was radish (which i never thought would be an option for fish, but evidently it works.)

mutton pulav: the best i’ve ever had in a restaurant. mutton so soft that it melts right into your mouth. 10/10 would recommend it.

daal crossing: crossing’s take on daal

saag: not your usual saag; it has a very unique texture and flavor.

ragi khoozh: this dish is from the tamilian region – rice porridge i’d never noticed. i enjoyed it for its wholesome flavors and simplicity.

dahi boondi sev: jhar kand on a plate (you need to try the dessert to find out what this means!)
chocolate bake: a dessert perfectly paired with a strong coffee.
