the arrogant butcher

a great restaurant. had a reservation and was seated immediately. nicole did a superb job telling us about themenuand made superb suggestions. the pretzel and cheese was just wonderful, and the beet salad was incredible. but the cioppino topped everything!!! fresh, full of seafood and crab legs in a wonderful broth. this is becoming our new best restaurant.

i had was good but some fails. maybe they have worked out the kinks by now? we didn't get some foods that were on themenuthat should have came to us with our meals that we were looking forward too. but what we had was good.menumight have changed by now.

where's the beef?. with a name like the arrogant butcher, you would expect a quanity of beef or other meats on the menu. not so! themenuis heavy on seafood and other non-meat dishes. the place should be called the arrogant fisherman!
all of the food was arrogantly highly over priced.
fish & chips $17.00??? the from the freezer fish was mushy, the fries average and the thimblefull of coleslaw was just ok. arthur treacher's has them beat by a mile for much less. the wife's burger, ($9.00) was ok and the made from scratch potato chips were soggy.
$5.50 for a bud light??? i think notorously high priced chase field across the street sells it for less. the place is noisy & loud and the ceiling full of ductwork and wiring is just beautiful! won't be going back. too many other good options downtown.

sam fox has a right to be arrogant. food was amazing!!! themenuisn't huge, but it is all delicious. started off with a maid in mexico cocktail and sea salt chips w/ onion dip, and had the scallops for my entree. soooo good! unfortunately i was too full to have dessert.
service was as good as the food. they substituted spinach for brussels sprouts in the sweet potato tortelli - the only vegetarian dish here - and my friend loved it.
i will definitely come back.

pretty good lunch. this place is actually pretty good. while themenuis a little non-standard the food is very good.
they seemed to have borrowed some of themenuitems from other restaurants, like the pretzel fondue...
my crab cake louie salad was just the right size, just the right price and just the right taste.
it was nice that the manager went out of his way to thank us for coming in... that's a lost etiquette in some quarters.
i'll be back...
