disappointing experience. our entire dinner was over shaddowed by being told we were not allowed to have parmesan cheese on the pasta we had ordered. the server had parmesan cheese in hand and refused to give it to us on orders from the "chef". really!!!!!

left no tip. they wouldn't accommodate my needs and my wishes. since tip is for service i saved myself 10% and left a zero tip. now i will not be back.

the interior of the restaurant blew me away once i stepped inside. the staff was friendly and the food was amazing! the portions were quite small for an italian restaurant but the quality made up for it.

terrible service. good food.. i went to teronni tonight with a bunch of my friends to have dinner to celebrate my birthday. the service was terrible.
i tend to eat out often and will tend to do my research prior to selecting a restaurant to try. after all the positive feedback i received for the food at terroni, i decided to finally check it out. well the food is definitely the only thing positive about it.
not only did the server not once introduce herself to us, she did not speak a single word to anyone aside from answering questions we asked. she did not smile once throughout the 2 hours we were there. my friends and i thought that maybe she was just having a bad day and maybe we could turn it around for her. we were being extra polite and nice, even complimented the food and told her how delicious we thought everything was. she did not say anything in response to that, turned around and walked away. the food was awesome but definitely not worth going to for the poor service alone. yes it is that bad.
then after asking for the bill i notice that there was an 18% gratuity added onto the bill already.
so basically she made an 18% tip off of a $700 bill for providing quite possibly the worst service i have ever received in a restaurant in toronto.

you are kidding, right?. this has never happened to me...

i went to this restaurant on adelaide street with a group of colleagues for lunch.

one of party asked for a diet coke and was promptly told that we serve no diet products with aspartame - should have been my first clue

we reviewed the menu and a dish of spaghetti with seafood caught my eye - i did notice something odd indicating that because of the delicate balance of seafood we do not serve this with cheese – i know, i know, you should not have cheese with seafood pasta but i thought that this was a guideline and not law.

my dish arrived and i joked with the waiter that i would like some fresh parm. cheese for my pasta – he said he could not – what do you mean i said? he said; “just what i said we will not serve cheese for this dish”.

i asked to speak with the manager thinking that our waiter took the guideline a bit too seriously but to my horror, the manager reinforced their stance of no cheese with this dish.

they were quite happy to take this dish away and bring me another one that “allowed cheese”

you probably guested but i just sipped on my water until my colleagues were finished eating and we left.

not to make a scene at our table i engaged conversaton with the manager to maybe understand why this was not allowed – she proceeded to tell me the they know food and they have decided that cheese would absolutely wreck this dish and it may result in me asking for a refund – really, not kidding you.

i thanked her for her concern about my culinary education but pointed out that i have eaten at the finest restaurants in the world and have never been refused cheese for my pasta even when it had seafood.

really, people, we have enough issues in toronto with our mayor in the news to have a tourist restaurant dictate to its guests how to eat. are we becoming "foodie snobs"?

is it me or is this the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard?

good food but not worth it. wow. i actually hate this place. the servers are so rude. when we asked a question she almost bit our heads off.

the food is pretty good, but honestly, it's not worth it. i'll cook at home and have my girlfriend yell at me instead and save the money. go to loblaws at carleton and get some nice cheeses, buy an expensive bottle of wine and get a frozen pizza. you'll be happier. honestly.

terroni is a mid-to-high class italian restaurant that gives one the impression of being in a really cool place. you can't place it exactly, but i would paint it to you akin to somewhere which combines the authenticity of old world italy with the modern sophistication of new york city. the food, while delicious, is greatly overshadowed by this general "cool vibe" that dominates your meal.

i have to laugh... i'm looking for restaurants to dine at during my weekend in toronto coming up. this restaurant was recommended to me but the reviews are pretty bad. however, i have to laugh that 100% of the bad reviews involved the denial of balsamic. canadians do love their balsamic it seems. what do they put in it up there?! also, if you have ever been to nyc or other large cities, you would already know not to try to modify entrees or pizzas. that is big faux pas.

came in for lunch and atmosphere was ecstatic! food was good, service was nice but one problem i had was the size of the table. it was tiny even though we only got 2 items. overall though a great experience!

manager refused w/out apology or explanation to accommodate guest who asked for dressing on the side. table next over asked for cheese on pasta & were snubbed. unprofessional servers who could not adequately explain the reasoning behind refusing a side of dressing beyond "vinegar is not a condiment". tourists used to being treated well should avoid!

great service. a bunch of us stopped in after work. really enjoyed the food and the girl serving us was outstanding - she knew the menu and suggested some great wine.

please sir, may i have some...no!!!. omg, when your go to terroni, it's not a restaurant, but their church with a strict food religion that you must accept or clearly leave. don't ask for anything extra, whether it be limes for your drink (oh yes, they don't have limes, but are "looking into" that) or balsamic as a side....no! interesting that the newbie condescending bartender needed to inform us that "balsamic is more expensive than gold on the market". wow, really? though they offer it with other items on the menu, they refuse you to have it with their caprese salad. and, don't ask for a sample tasting of beer because they are "cracking down" on "overs". seriously...it's a beer tap. sanctimonious, condescending, blithering bs is what terroni is best known for, not their food or service - clearly the worst in the city.

oh, and by the way, don't complain because they will just ask you to leave. honestly, don't waste your time.

amazing food, ok service. service really is shaky...sometimes good sometimes bad....but otherwise the food is always consistent! i'd have to agree with most of the other reviews on this site!
