past its prime. i was very disappointed with my outing at terroni. i was a regular at terroni queen st. location for years even the mid town location. the pizza is now sub-standard. the service was not exceptional and seating was less than desirable( even with all unoccupied tables, most of these tables was emptied after we left). we were told the had a full reservation. there are tons of restaurants to experience in toronto and many great italian eateries with awesome pizza. i will not waste my money and time at this restaurant again. also, i will not recommend it to my friends.

i have no idea why there are so many bad reviews! i love this place and everything about it. the food was amazing, the veggie pasta was freshly made and just delicious. great wine selection, and their cheeses are delicious. waitress was very quick to the point and professional. and lastly the atmosphere is perfect, dim lights old rugged feel. definitely a restaurant who knows how to serve a delicious meal that actually matches the price.

past its due date. maybe one day it was special (maybe not) but we found the pasta to be very ordinary and very small. i am fairly sure all the ingredients tomato sauce and all come out of a cash and carry container. it was just too old and bland to be anything else. it was $18 for a smallish pizza.
they also have an attitude like they are doing us a favour seating us because it took them a while despite the unoccupied tables.. come on stop the attitude. left a 5% tip for the fun of it but of course they did not earn it. i guess this is the problem with chains

feeling the need to chime in.... i went to terroni for the first time last night and must say that the food and the service was amazing! we were so lost with the wine list (and are avid wine drinkers) and also couldn't pronounce half of the items on the menu but our server was happy to explain and suggest items without any attitude (and he was a "hipster"). i had brought my 14 year old sister with us and it was her first trendy dining experience in toronto. she asked for a sprite and they advised that they didn't have regular pop on their menu and suggested the lemon san pellegrino which was great! one of my friends that was with us goes all the time so she did mention that they don't do modifications to their menu and what is listed is what you get. the chef takes pride in his work and if he feels that dishes should be served a certain way, then that is his decision. if you are looking for pasta that is smothered in cheap cream sauces and parmesan cheese then go to east side mario's. i have been looking for an italian restaurant that is comparable to locanda verde in new york and i think i may have found it. the building that the restaurant is housed in is absolutely incredible. it's the old courthouse and you can see all of the old cells in the basement and there is even a dining room set up in the gallery where they used to do the hanging. very cool experience and very authentic. i had the truffled pasta which was amazing and i would also suggest trying one of the amaro liqueurs for dessert.

it manager. wish i could have talked to a manager to say this. but we ran out of time after a 90 minute lunch for one salad and one pizza. the salad was wilted - badly. we requested another. same thing. waitress said it was all they had. so why not say so before bringing the second one? the genoa salami on the pizza smelled and tasted bad. we removed it. waitress apologized but kept it on the bill. we asked for a business card to contact the manager and received a generic one with no contact info.

good food terrible service will come back will not tip of course. great italian food, the pasta and pizza were crisp flavourful and the best
price is also moderate
inside it is like an italian american eatery
waitress was not pretty and decided she will not grant our wish or bring us what we ordered the way we wanted so did not tip. honey tip is for service not for automatic lol

a very large yet cozy, dim-light space. pretty busy after 6pm. italian is usually hit-or-miss for me, but i think this one was an okay choice.

overall, with a glass of wine, $100 for three people. best was potato croquette and creme caramel.

much better dining options.... god awful.
service brutal, icky hipster attitudes with limited knowledge of the food.
food mediocre at best.
olive oil, really good if you enjoy the taste of fresh grass cuttings.
pasta over cooked.
just brutal.

good old pride of the owners who don't care to change a damn thing. it is time that guests are treated properly when they pay you for the service and food. you probably steal from your servers too. what a total disaster.
terroni, you have seen much better days.

pizza is fresh and satisfying. will be back.

in terms of food for this particular visit, we ordered off the seasonal menu, mostly summery bbq items. we had the grilled sword fish, lightly breaded shrimp, vegetarian pizza topped with mozzarella, sun-dried tomato, arugula and parmigiano, and stuffed zucchini flowers with meaty croquettes. for dessert, we had their panna cotta, which i order on every single visit without fail. not much else to say. terroni has solid food and a it's pretty good place to bring out-of-town visitors.

had an intense craving for italian one night for dinner so my friend and i decided to try a place we both haven't been to. terroni was on my mind for a while now so thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally try and see what all the talk was about!  we went to the adelaide location   in the financial district, it's easily accessible for anyone.  image from terroni.com before even heading into the restaurant, i was impressed by the grand entrance.  it's got so much character - really loved this. even though it was a tuesday night, the place was already bustling with customers - good thing i always make reservations!  the restaurant is dimly lit and has a few dining areas with its own ambiance. started with the c't mang pizza ($16.95) after reading raving reviews about it and when cherry ( yyzgourmand ) strongly recommended that we try i t.  this is a white pizza that uses mozzarella & gorgonzola cheese, topped with fresh pears, walnuts, prosciutto and honey. first time trying

terrible! the owner does not allow paying customers to put parmesano cheese on pasta dishes that have fish! i.e the lobster dinner! would bring out cheese for other pasta dish but would not add to my plate! as a paying customer i don't care how owner wants his food to be eaten! what a tyrant!
