tequila's town mexican restaurant

authenticmexicanand a foodie hangout. themexicanfood at tequila's is excellent as is the service, but assume a small wait when you go because it gets crowded especially with patrons who wait at the bar. each time we've been, the crowd has been an array of '20-50 something foodies', people who appreciate really good food even if it's coupled with a little jostling, and a lot of noise.

atmosphere is fun but loud (wood floors don't help noise). the salsa they bring with the chips is excellent. fresh cilantro and lots of onion flavor. i couldn't help myself from ordering the queso with chorizo. it is very flavorful with just a touch of spice (favorite dish of night). my picky 6 year old even liked it. i usually order a coronarita atmexicanrestaurants. this one was served in a pint glass instead of margarita glass and was just ok in taste. i would try a different margarita next time. i ordered the tacos el pastor (marinated pork) which is new to the menu. they were dry and not spectacular and i probably wouldn't order again. they were loaded with cilantro which made them fresh tasting. they have a kids menu which includes chicken fingers and smiley fries which made my daughter happy. service was not great (saturday night). i wanted another drink but server never came back before bringing the check. they make guacamole table side so you know it's fresh, but i didn't order it this time. it is probably bestmexicandowntown but if you want best authenticmexicanin area then flacos tacos in pooler is better (albeit a small takeout place without real seating).

of all themexicanrestaurants in savannah, this is by far the best. the carnitas was tender and very good. east coastmexicanrestaurants are not what you experience in texas or california, so don't expect this to be "cosmic" good. but it does have a good menu and nice decor. the wait staff was pleasant and the beer selection is solid.

tequila's townmexicanrestaurant is definitely the bestmexicanfood in town. the service is good and the food arrives fast every time. most of the time it's extremely loud and a lot going on. they also make guacamole table side.

the closest to "real"mexicanin savannah. the street tacos are amazing! freshly made margaritas (i had a prickly cactus, blood orange rita), mole poblano, guacamole made next to your table (love!), and fresh ceviche and molcajete with homemade sauces (family orders). delicious food! great, up-beat atmosphere and friendly and knowledgeable staff. it can get a little loud, but has tons of personality and local flair. definitely a must stop in savannah!

tequila town more like tequila frown. it was a bright november day. the cotton like clouds stretched across that blue canvas of the sky. school just got out for the day. my stomach rumbling like a volcano on the verge of exploding. my mind said go to fire, but my heart said tequila town. i walk across the strip of land that is broughton and find myself at the littlemexicanabode. i walk in and smell the sweet scent of spices and chips. my nose tingles in expectation. i sit in the corner and a man appears. he takes my order. i get my liquid drink and take a sip. tea? tea? i ordered coke! i say in my mind. that was just the beginning....

better than your regularmexicanrestaurant. this was my second trip to tequila town. tt is a very popular in-town dining place. the decor is simple they have about fifty art paintings on the walls. as we used to say when we were kids “they are exactly the same only completely different”, little colorful circles. you never know what these buildings used to be. i found the ceiling to be very interesting architecturally. it is original to the building and you can still see how things used to be. the restaurant is small with a little bar at one end. there is also a raised dining area with a good people watching view. this restaurant is also very noisy. on the menu at first glance you see everything that you see on every othermexicanrestaurant you have ever been in, but their preparation of the dishes ends and similarity. every dish is made with a different flare for up scaling the ordinary fare of themexicanrestaurant. they will make guacamoles at your table, and make it any way you want it. in amexicanrestaurant you always get a corn chips and some kind of salsa to go with it. i found the salsa to be extremely thin. my lovely wife had the colorado dish. this is a steak with a wonderful red sauce. i don’t know what is in the sauce, but this is the second time we had this dish and it was over the top both times. i had the ribeye caliente. this is a ribeye with an onions mushrooms and a chipotle seasoning. the steak was large and came as i ordered it medium rare. you get the standard rice and beans and soft tortilla with this meal. what a wonderful flavor the chipotle has with the steak.

best in savannah. hands down bestmexicanin savannah - the guacamole is a can't miss and the mole sauce is amazing. great service - adorable location inside - only downside is parking, but that's savannah. the food is so good! do yourself a favor and don't miss this one.

wow. ok being from texas i was more than concerned when my sister said she wantedmexicanfood for dinner. i thought she'll be disappointed bc its not what she is used to. well we picked this place for no particular reason and boy i'm glad we did! guacamole is excellent, beef fajitas excellent! when we told our waitress we were from texas, she explained that her family was also opening a place in texas. i think they will do just fine there!

you should be eating here. when we arrived there was a 20 min wait, we grabbed drinks at the bar and once seated promptly had complimentary chips and salsa and a server. we ordered the table side made guacamole (best i've ever had) and our entrees and more drinks. drinks were promptly brought out and the food should up within the next 10 minutes! they were pretty busy but the staff was moving very quickly and efficiently and still being very courteous to all the customers. this was easily some of the bestmexicanfood (and drinks) i've ever had. you're wasting your time reading this when you should be eating there right now instead.

great food. i wanted to take a friend for her birthday to a good authenticmexicanrestaurant. i used urban spoon and found tequila's townmexicanrestaurant. the food was great an authentic. we had the table side guacamole. the server was nice and was very informative on making his food but also the menu. the waiter was nice friendly, informative, and not pushy. the food was so good we all had a hard time stopping. the price is good and you get plenty of food. the waiter made this birthday dinner just wonderful. he made sure to wish her a happy birthday and served her flan on the house. i am also happy that the staff had a good understanding of allergies as i am allergic to chicken. the staff was very careful not to serve me any chicken or any food that was cooked by the chicken.

weve been there three times now because the food is so good. onlymexicanplace in savannah that gives everyone at the table their own salsa (like a realmexicanplace should). i've had three different meals there all were great... my favorite was "coctel de cameron", the flavors were amazing. reasonably priced, highly recommended.

best in savannah!. i had the pleasure of having dinner here last night. it is, hands down, the bestmexicanfood in savannah! we were seated quickly and promptly brought endless chips and salsa. our server was very nice, the margaritas are delicious and come with a good kick! our dinners came out in a normal amount of time (we arrived at about 5pm on a saturday with a party of 5). we did not order it, but the table side guacamole we saw made a few times looks delicious, we will have to try it next time, along with trying to save room for dessert! we will definitely be back!
