tequila's town mexican restaurant

this place was not as impressive as i had though it would be. the drinks weregreatbut the 45 minute wait was not really worth it! the dining area was loud and overcrowded. the food was underwhelming and overall, not noteworthy.

atmosphere is fun but loud (wood floors don't help noise). the salsa they bring with the chips is excellent. fresh cilantro and lots of onion flavor. i couldn't help myself from ordering the queso with chorizo. it is very flavorful with just a touch of spice (favorite dish of night). my picky 6 year old even liked it. i usually order a coronarita at mexican restaurants. this one was served in a pint glass instead of margarita glass and was just ok in taste. i would try a different margarita next time. i ordered the tacos el pastor (marinated pork) which is new to the menu. they were dry and not spectacular and i probably wouldn't order again. they were loaded with cilantro which made them fresh tasting. they have a kids menu which includes chicken fingers and smiley fries which made my daughter happy. service was notgreat(saturday night). i wanted another drink but server never came back before bringing the check. they make guacamole table side so you know it's fresh, but i didn't order it this time. it is probably best mexican downtown but if you want best authentic mexican in area then flacos tacos in pooler is better (albeit a small takeout place without real seating).

this was agreateating experience. located just a few off blocks off bay st. and obviously a local fave. food, drinks and service were all great. considered to be a margarita snob, the wife gave this place two thumbs up

terrible service and treatment. doesn't matter about quality, specials and prices it is about how you are treated! recently went with a group from out of town. they don't take reservations but someone in group thought we made them. person who said he was a manager was absolutely rude and could only repeat "we don't take reservations"...got it! this means waiting in line with rude staff who are just concerned about volume...move them in and move them out! the location isn't that convenient anyway from the squares and river street! too manygreatchoices for restaurants! and if your going to savannah enjoy other cuisine...and especially avoid this place!!

best in savannah. hands down best mexican in savannah - the guacamole is a can't miss and the mole sauce is amazing.greatservice - adorable location inside - only downside is parking, but that's savannah. the food is so good! do yourself a favor and don't miss this one.

great food. i wanted to take a friend for her birthday to a good authentic mexican restaurant. i used urban spoon and found tequila's town mexican restaurant. the food wasgreatan authentic. we had the table side guacamole. the server was nice and was very informative on making his food but also the menu. the waiter was nice friendly, informative, and not pushy. the food was so good we all had a hard time stopping. the price is good and you get plenty of food. the waiter made this birthday dinner just wonderful. he made sure to wish her a happy birthday and served her flan on the house. i am also happy that the staff had a good understanding of allergies as i am allergic to chicken. the staff was very careful not to serve me any chicken or any food that was cooked by the chicken.

wow, wish there was a "love it" option. staff is friendly, attentive and inviting. my husband and i have gone several times now and it never disappoints. we make it a point to try something new every time. the food is always fresh and flavorful. the table side guacamole is delicious and spot on! tried the sopa azteca, tamales, torta, chile colorado, chile verde...and much more. all of them have been amazing. the owners are great! they are always there making sure everything is operating smoothly and helping out. it'sgreatto see that kind of devotion and leadership and not someone who stands on the side lines. the name tequila town may scare some but it intrigued me, and the selection is impressive. and the staff is very knowledgeable on them all. i never knew there were so many variations of tequila until sampling a few. overallgreatatmosphere, people, food and drinks. would i recommend it to friends... already have, all the time! :-)
