ten minutes by tractor

just had lunch there - an excellent experience - very professional and attentive staff, extensive and impressive (main) wine list (their 2014 pn ok to pretty good, but the 2013 coolart is superb - interesting no bordeaux on the main list!), food very glossy and delicious (and beautifully presented) without being silly or over the top, and it came quickly, while the view and ambience was relaxing, rural and interesting (fat sheep slowly grazing up and down the vineyard rows).  not cheap, but absolutely worth it and certainly one of the top places on the peninsular. strongly recommended.

having  higher expectations, we were only slightly let down by the otway pork main dish, which veered on the salty side. the kangaroo main was excellently cooked. both our desserts were refreshing and satisfying, with the caramelised pumpkin ganache dessert a real novelty. overall, we found all the dishes well-cooked and well-balanced, though perhaps relatively more moreish than artfully refined in presentation. the service was excellent and attentive.

an absolute standout. make a reservation well in advance, as it's no secret how good the food and service is.

everything about this place is 1st class. highly recommended.

having had degustations at several locations now, and all of them of a very high standard, we had high expectations for ten minutes by tractor for our lunch catching up with friends. fear not hungry reader, you will be well served at this establishment. if only you could taste the pictures with this review, you will find that taste buds are happy with each morsel. beautiful presentation, care of the quality produce and served to the table with true professionalism from the fantastic front of house staff. graham, wes and peter took great care of us and ensured our dietary 'sensitivities' were catered for.
5 course degustation was not rushed either. 4 hours, at our pace.
also, as it is foremost a winery, a great selection is on hand. we had the pinot noir 2014 & 2015 and it was fantastic. this region has come a long way and 5-10 years ago was not producing wines of this exceptional quality.

there have been very few restaurants or degustations where the fiancé and i have been so lost in conversation and aren't feeling overly full halfway through the 3rd course that we don't even realise we have been there for almost 2 hours! exceptional service by all the staff, delicately plated dishes with components that build complexity and balance to each course, a beautiful location and venue - this is certainly one of victoria's best dining experiences. thank you chef and crew! my favourite course was the quail with warm brioche to finish and the fiancé loved the cashmere goats cheese with beetroot

had a great meal at the ten minutes by tractor restaurant this week. we were a (slightly rowdy and very hungry) group of eight, which can be a little challenging, but the crew looks after us brilliantly. adding a couple of small tasters to our three courses meant we were able to get a good sense of the menu breadth. my quail entree, beef main and deconstructed apple pie desert were stunningly presented and equally tasty. service was five star. we really are blessed to be able to experience this quality of restaurant in almost every corner of the state.

there are many beautiful wineries on the mornington peninsula, but when you are talking the best, ten minutes by tractor is the name on everyone’s lips. aside from their impeccable wine list, (try their estate pinot noir, we dare you not to love it!), ten minutes by tractor are renowned for their unpretentious, yet refined degustation. with a restaurant that has earned itself two chefs’ hats, it is fine dining that is innovative but still tastes delicious!

the staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was incredible from start to finish - we had the 5 course degustation and it was a truly memorable meal !

i absolutely love having overseas guests visit me in melbourne. especially my buddies from asia. they love food as much as i do, but the bonus of being in melbourne, is that we get some beautiful settings to enjoy as well. . not too long ago, my crew who i usually meet up with came down to melbourne for an extended weekend, so i trotted them out to the mornington peninsula, where we airbnb’ed (is that a verb yet?) a huge house and made our way to the very charming ten minutes by tractor for dinner (which had be on my wishlist for a very long time).

we arrived at ten minutes by tractor cellar door for wine tasting. we’d called up the day before to try and make a booking in the restaurant only to find out it is booked weeks in advance during the summer. happily wine tasting we mentioned to the cellar door manager we tried to get a table the day earlier - his response the same ‘completely booked out’. right at the end of our tasting, he came back over and mentioned the restaurant had just received a cancellation for lunch and if we’d like the table. without thinking we we’re seated ordering wine. ordering the ten minutes by tractor 10x chardonnay- my new favourite chardonnay. what a lovely 2+ hour meal. a lunch i won’t forget. each dish is perfectly pieced together with each ingredient complementing each other. i especially love the small surprise samplers they bring out between each course. highly recommend for a special occasion.

excellent in every way. we went there today for lunch. we had the 5 course degustation and our own wines by the glass. food outstanding and in particular the quail and lamb. over 1,000 wines to select from around the globe. service highly attentive with out being annoying. very impressive overall and a great way to kick back on a saturday afternoon and enjoy the relaxed surroundings.

excellent food and service. my personal favourite was the quail and wallis chardonnay. doesn't get much better. well worth the trip.

love 10x - we have been coming here for quite a few years now. actually can't believe i've never reviewed it. love the food, the service, the location and the wine. we always go home with a few bottles. had a beautiful anniversary lunch here today, a little disappointed they didn't acknowledge our special occasion but again it was spot on. if you are in the area it's defiantly a must do.

came here for an anniversary lunch and certainly did not fail to impress. we had the 5 course degustation along with a caraf of the pinot grigio - superb! each course was very delicately prepared and was yummy. the little 'surprises' between some of the courses were also well appreciated.
would highly recommend :)
