great setting but the food ok not great, the style of the food is getting on but places like this are hanging on to it for dear life, the swipe, the smear, the dust guys it's getting old would be sad to see a great label fall to a dated style of food

its been a few months since we settled down in melbourne and lets say both of us are starting to warm to our jobs and live the life in a bigger city. living the life in a bigger city means recognising that there is way too many places to try for lunches and dinners than our wallets can handle. it does help when you realise how many food bloggers are located in melbourne and the amount of restaurant reviews out there. we decided on labour day that we will make a trip up to mornington peninsula. god bless the souls working in the restaurants/wineries eventhough our menu had a 10% surcharge for public holidays. we took to the "hatted" guide to make our choice for lunch and we had three one hat restaurants in the region. is it you, you or you? we decided that we will start off with ten minutes by tractor. the name comes from the fact that there have 3 wine yards which are approximately a ten minute ride by tractor away from each other. meaningful yet catchy name. having a meal here means y

had a tasting dinner with matching wines last night. food was phenomenal, wouldn't go for tractor wines, if you can go with the world ones. pretty hard to win, one winery vs. the rest of the world! going back for proper wine tasting today though. service was outstanding, very personal, knowledgable and even a personal chauffeur is included (not really but cab didn't show up)! would definitely go back!!

ten minutes by tractor fulfilled everything i wanted it to. my family appreciated the beautifully presented plates of food and the visual pleasure was backed up firmly by tasty fresh produce and impressive culinary skill.

catch up with part 1 here. you know, it's not all about wine here. red hill brewery prides itself on offering a beer oasis, amid a sea of vines. it sells and serves a number of hoppy offerings through its cellar door (at the microbrewery) and adjoining bar-restaurant, which serves decent pub grub. order a tasting paddle. the selection on the day we visited was the golden ale, scotch ale, wheat beer and weizenbock. by far my favourite was the scotch ale, which was a special blend of english malts that ended with a caramel-y sweetness than lingered on the palate. and look out for (relatively) new kid on the block mornington peninsula brewery bottles and draught beers being served in the area. if cider is your tipple of choice, then you will appreciate the three varieties (from sweet to dry) produced by mock orchards in red hill with fruit from their bio-dynamic apple orchard. stop by for a tasting. it's also worth stocking up at their organic farm shop, where you'll find a range of yummy

great food and venue but bad service. we tried this restaurant because of the good reviews about their food and great location. all was proven correct except for the service. the welcome provided by the front staff was rude. we stood there for almost 5 minutes while the waiters walk past us doing nothing. i don't understand why waiters think they can have 'tude' towards paying customers? i feel like going up to them and tell them to drop the attitude and start providing good service. anyway if you can go past the rude waiters then the food and the scenery is worth while visiting this place. would i go back and there spend my money again? no.

we arrived on time only to be told our booking was not available. we were told by clayton hiskins the restaurant manager there had been a mistake. our reservation had been in place for over a month.. clayton told us he had phoned but we never received this message and after driving from melbourne it left a very bad taste in our mouths. clayton's apology was not sincerely and we were brushed off as an inconvenience - a very rude man. i would never recommend this restaurant based on our experiences.

intimate setting. lunch at 10 minutes by tractor was such a delightful experience. the restaurant is beautifully set up and the tables have ample space between them. the maitre d' was a bit snooty but the rest of the staff were great. very informative but not buzzing around too much. the duck was wonderful and the steak was perfect. the desserts were the best i have had in a long time. very interesting with lots of different flavours - they were works of art. i can't wait to go back for another special occasion ... they were certainly special occasions prices!

superb. great dining experience - the best on red hill.
food - great except once.
service - crisp - too many different servers at table sometimes.
decor- smart - a little dated.
wine list - brilliant. choose your own wine though - dont go selected.

must for foodies

... the duck was beautifully cooked with a light pink flesh with sweet, peppery notes that matched well with our bottle of pinot noir.

fantastic. fantastic - excellent service and excellent food. we sat by the window with lovely views of the garden and the vineyard.
the chef and staff were brilliant as they catered and adjusted the degustation menu for my complicated allergies. i was so happy as i really wanted to try the degustation menu and was disappointed to see that i wasn't able to eat most of it - however the chef made it work for me and i left there one very very happy person. the goats cheese dish was to die for, the prawns were huge and perfect, the snapper was divine... ohhhh and the duck was superb. the dessert was a perfect way to end a fabulous lunch.
i would highly recommend going there.

bring your visa. had an enjoyable time here and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. the meals were unique both in creation and presentation but it was just a tad too expensive when the bill came. i certainly can't say anything bad about 10x but just don't go there expecting an average per head charge on the bill.... gorgeous venue and positive experience for sure!

the beauty of the country side. we went to ten minutes by tractor for lunch to try their new summer menu. we had never came before ...the restaruant was quite full...with the most amazing view ive seen in any restaurant. the food was homely but still fine but it was the same taste from any restaurant nothing that was rememberable. the service was excellent never lefted your glass un filled.

we the the quial it was cooked perfectly but nothing special. it waas good because their used local produce.

there was a amazing collection of wine aswell as there own wine from thge vineyard. as fresh as it gets.
