ten minutes by tractor

gorgeous food, great atmosphere and superb service. not the littlelunchstop we had expected but were blown away by the amazing meal. pricey but the whole experience was terrific.

ten minutes by tractor is slowly becoming a favourite past time for me and my so. we came for the first time last year for ken’s birthday, and a full year later, we decided that rather than risking food disappointment, (definition: eating out somewhere fancy with high expectations but being disappointed in the end) we’d go back to our old favourite. so with that, we prepared ourselves for an 8 course, flavour filledlunchserved with matching international wines...

one of the best dining experiences i've had in my life.
as soon as you walk in you are made to feel comfortable and at home.
we started off with the complimentary wine tasting, where we got to try some magnificent wines, that we then chose to have some with our lunch.
graham, the restaurant manager is an absolute gentleman. the service that him and his staff offer is second to none.
we were seated promptly to our table near the window so we overlooked an amazing setting on a wonderful sunny afternoon.
not once during thelunchdid we feel rushed or pushed to order, it was all very at our leisure but with that attentive non intrusive service.
to start i had the vegetarian rotolo - think rolled gnocchi and pan fried, followed by fish of the day (i can't remember the type but it was amazing) lots of different flavours happening on the plate and finished with a selection of fine cheeses from their fromagerie menu.
their rose wine - 10x, is outstanding as is some of the pinot noirs we consumed.
i highly recommend getting dropped off and picked up from the venue and not driving, so you can enjoy a leisurelylunchwith beautiful wines.
i can't wait to come back! until next time...

awesome!!! went here with a large group for a long lunch. service was excellent. the pinot we were drinking was soooo good we went through several bottles. the food was superb, we all did 3 courselunchand between us ordered most things on the menu and everyone was very happy with their meals. highly recommend. can't wait to come back!

my friends and i had the setlunch- the food came out really slowly and at the end of thelunchthe staff were chasing us out as they were closing to prep the dinner service. i thought that was bad service. but the food though was so good. each dish was delicious and well presented. my friends thought that the lamb and duck were slightly overcooked but i didn’t have a problem with it. there was so much food we were stuffed even before dessert. this place doesn’t come cheap but is a good place to have a longlunchin the winery...until they kick you out!

i was so looking forward to mylunchhere and unfortunately i was let down. the entree of spanner crab w local native herbs and peas was refreshing and tasty. however, my main - hapuka was flakey and overcooked! hapuka is my favourite white fish and i’ve grilled/baked/fried this cut many times before. i don’t identify myself as a home cook (why cook when you can eat out) or a fish monger, but a fresh piece of hapuka should never be flaky. i drowned my fish with their burnt butter ‘jus’ so it didn’t taste chewy and flaky. i enjoyed the heritage cauliflower & roasted macadamia salad that came with the hapuka.
my friend had the duck, which looked colourful and pretty but she reported that the duck was average in taste but blueberry jus was delightful and made the dish.
overall they failed to impress with their main proteins, and was able to ‘recover’ with their side dishes/condiments.
the staff provided excellent service and their estate pinot noir is spectacular!

why oh why must people act in such a snobbish way when greeting customers?! tables out the front gathering cobwebs that could accomodate extra people and yet they act like it's way too exclusive to even be there??!! we did a wine tasting today and the young girl that served us had absolutely no idea about wine??!! pouring not even a drop with each tasting? rolling her eyes when we asked questions! we would have bought half a dozen wines if the attitude of the staff was friendlier! we went elsewhere and had a great day! was going to book alunchhere but have since changed our minds as we would prefer somewhere where staff are nicer and not snobs!! bye felicia !

great place for a really fancy swanky lunch. you have to book at least a week in advance, make sure you get a table that looks out to the vineyard behind. we had 8 course degustation with matching wines. staff were so accommodating, an absolute delight even though we sat and ate and drank for 4 hours. incredible matching wines, definitely worth it. highlights for me include the butter (simple but amazing), the fish, and the deep fried muscles. i normally hate muscles but these were crumbed and deep fried, so unexpected. carrots with goats cheese were wonderful and also the chocolate desert with beetroot was great. hmmm so was the cucumber ice cream. a wonderful meal, was made even better by amazing staff, beautiful decor and a winning view. also the trick to an amazinglunchlike this is to be organized! we organized transport through your shuttle - christine was fab and it was $80 return for two to arthur's seat - they work just like a cab, it was awesome.

absolutely delicious food and wine, beautiful setting and attentive staff. we got the 5 courselunchdegustation and were perfectly full and satisfied. the food is fresh and seasonal and the courses are designed to complement the season they are served in. will definitely be back later in the year to try a different spread - a great place for a special occasion meal.

what an amazing culinary experience, definitely a must try if you are staying down the peninsula. we brought my cousin from the us here had a wine tasting before we were seated forlunch(did buy a couple bottles of red). we started with the freshly baked bread which was divine and then each ordered an entree and main, and all the dishes were delicious.

the presentation was just perfect and it all tasted just as good as it looked. service was impeccable, the waiter helped match wines to our meals and was extremely professional without being over the top. everything here was top notch and i will certainly be back to sample other dishes on their menu.

had the degustation here forlunchand i was extremely satisfied and happy. the staff was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable.

every dish had the adequate portion needed to fulfil my taste buds. the bread was given with a house made garlic butter which was just delicious. i can't fault any of the dishes.

just hadlunchthere - an excellent experience - very professional and attentive staff, extensive and impressive (main) wine list (their 2014 pn ok to pretty good, but the 2013 coolart is superb - interesting no bordeaux on the main list!), food very glossy and delicious (and beautifully presented) without being silly or over the top, and it came quickly, while the view and ambience was relaxing, rural and interesting (fat sheep slowly grazing up and down the vineyard rows).  not cheap, but absolutely worth it and certainly one of the top places on the peninsular. strongly recommended.

having had degustations at several locations now, and all of them of a very high standard, we had high expectations for ten minutes by tractor for ourlunchcatching up with friends. fear not hungry reader, you will be well served at this establishment. if only you could taste the pictures with this review, you will find that taste buds are happy with each morsel. beautiful presentation, care of the quality produce and served to the table with true professionalism from the fantastic front of house staff. graham, wes and peter took great care of us and ensured our dietary 'sensitivities' were catered for.
5 course degustation was not rushed either. 4 hours, at our pace.
also, as it is foremost a winery, a great selection is on hand. we had the pinot noir 2014 & 2015 and it was fantastic. this region has come a long way and 5-10 years ago was not producing wines of this exceptional quality.

we arrived at ten minutes by tractor cellar door for wine tasting. we’d called up the day before to try and make a booking in the restaurant only to find out it is booked weeks in advance during the summer. happily wine tasting we mentioned to the cellar door manager we tried to get a table the day earlier - his response the same ‘completely booked out’. right at the end of our tasting, he came back over and mentioned the restaurant had just received a cancellation forlunchand if we’d like the table. without thinking we we’re seated ordering wine. ordering the ten minutes by tractor 10x chardonnay- my new favourite chardonnay. what a lovely 2+ hour meal. alunchi won’t forget. each dish is perfectly pieced together with each ingredient complementing each other. i especially love the small surprise samplers they bring out between each course. highly recommend for a special occasion.
