they offered a 2 course and 3 course set menu for $72 and $93, respectively. looking back, it wasn’t exactly a cheap meal! the restaurant wasn’t large, but the tables were well spaced. we sat by the window and had a great view of the vineyard.

loved everything about my experience! from the moment the waiter opened to door to the fantastic creations from head chef stuart bell. we couldn't fault anything. we had the degustation with matching wines ad it was perfect my fav being the brioche herb crumbed lamb rack with delious eggplant relish i didn't want this dish to finish!!! my partner really enjoyed the spice roasted duck breast with pearl barley and beetroot. the restaurant was full and the ambiance was perfect... a great way to spend a sunday lunch! can't wait to go back again. thanks for a great day

apparently we were lucky to get a table at ten minutes on a saturday night (booked a few days ahead) as told by our b&b owner who goes once a month. good sign to expect big things given the comment by a red hill local. main waiter graham was very helpful in trying to find room for another couple to join as for dinner at the last minute. when we arrived we understood why it could be hard to get a booking, the restaurant is small and cozy which was great! food did not disappoint and the other couple mentiioned it was better than montalto. scallop risotto special was excellent, very generous on the scallops. duck dish was delicious & colourful. lamb dish was devine. banana dessert was the best and reasonsbly priced given it was almost a tasting platter of sweet treats. pineapple & chocolate were nicely presented and were ok, however not as good as the banana dessert. dinner finished off with petite fours of choc caramel macaroon, raspberry friand, citrus tart & profiterole. overall a great dining experience. excellent service, delicious food, intimate atmosphere. will definitely go back!

like being condescended to? eat here!. my husband and i went to this restaurant after recommendations from two people. when we arrived, we stood for over 5 minutes before someone came to the desk to seat us. when the waiter came and we informed him that we didn't have a reservation, he looked at us as if we're crazy. the restaurant was 3/4 full, with open tables in plain sight. he seated us at a table, and we saw a table near the window. we asked if we could change seats. in a loud and condescending voice, he informed us that we needed to make reservations months in advance to get a table like that. other people were staring at us. we sat at our table, and looked at the menu. there was one vegetarian item. we asked the waiter what item the chef could prepare for us since we were vegetarian. he said they could make us rice. we stood up, and left.

we called and spoke to the general manager, chris, on monday. he claims the way we were treated was not normal, and invited us to come back. we live in new york, and this was our one opportunity to visit. we highly recommend that you skip this place and dine at the port phillip estate winery instead. this place is not worth the money.

both disappointing and appointing. i had my second experience with 10x on saturday night and left disappointed. the food was fine, the service was ordinary to poor (depending on which staff member bothered to look at our table). when i eat in a restaurant of the standard of 10x i don't expect inattention, occasional aloofness and excessive waiting for service.
the food was of the high standard that i encountered in my first visit earlier in the year. it was a fairly rich menu with duck, partridge and venison featuring in addition to a fish dish and beef cheek. they also capably supplied a gluten free, vegetarian meal that was tasty and well presented.
i had the partridge for my entrée and delighted in it's moistness. the main course of venison was perfectly cooked and complimented.
i will be going back to 10x but after this visit they get a dislike rating. they also only get one more chance.
