tavern

went to tavern for saturday brunch. it was packed, but that’s pretty usual for them, so i was still expecting decent food/service. that’s not what i got - service was very slow. it took more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and we had to ask multiple times for our bar drinks (although the bloody mary’s were delicious... once we got them). i ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict (they call it the dos) and the salmon was definitely just cold salmon from a can. yuck. also the english muffin was burned and the eggs were waaaay undercooked. not edible. not to mention the whole thing was so cold it could’ve come straight from the fridge. i could’ve done a much better job myself at home, with better salmon, and not paid like $13. i will not be returning to tavern, which is sad because it used to be agreatbrunch spot. not sure what happened.

the tavern did seat us ( group walk in of 8 ) very quickly on a friday night and that wasgreathowever we were placed directly under these large amped up heaters. the heat was so strong! the cocktails took a very long time and weren’t that great. everyone really liked the food and the burgers really were delicious.

i went to the tavern to try the tavern burger. it's made from a blend of ribeye and filet minon. it was undoubtably one of the best burgers i've ever had. it was incredibly juicy and cooked perfectly.

aside from the burger:
fries- eh
service- pretty good, nothing special
atmosphere- classy
prices- a little bit expensive for a burger, but still worth it.

overall, it was agreatexperience and i'd certainly visit again. make sure to order the burger cooked medium.

great atmosphere but sitting in the bar area can be crazy even early in the night. the burgers aregreatand the sweet potato fries with jalapeño ketchup are not to be missed. service is a little spotty.

i was happily surprised by howgreatthe tavern is: food, service, atmosphere--all splendid. the fries are, guiltily, delicious and come in an oversized portion. (great for sharing) that said, most portion sizes are extraordinarily generous and our waitress never let our drinks get below half full before refilling. 10/10 would recommend, although keep in mind when it's late they do id!

beautiful atmosphere and crazy loud music. this place is very hip but not a good place for a conversation. my burger, bloody mary and smore's were all average. if you live close by this is probably agreatplace. i went way out of my way for sunday brunch., it's just okay.. ago back if i were in the area but i would not make a special trip.

things weregreatuntil they got a new bar manger. and my martini comes half full!! not cool tavern. when i pay $10.50 for a drink i expect the entire drink in my glass. too much to ask!?

great place. when tavern first opened, i honestly tried not to like it. i had low expectations before i dined here my first time and thought that it was going to be another trendy, over-priced, mediocre dining experience. i was wrong. i've been for dinner, lunch, and multiple times for brunch (this is one my favorite brunch spots...i'll elaborate more in this in a minute). the sweet potato chips with the warm blue cheese fondue is an awesome app. i've heard the "chicken skins" are awesome too, but i can't bring myself to try those. the nachos are huge and enough to share with a table of ten. the junk salad is my absolute favorite salad in nashville. it has everything that i love in it: crispy lettuce, shrimp, pepperoncinis, tomato, cucumber, etc. my husband loves the burger and i am so interested in the chicken and waffles, which again i can't bring myself to order. all of the tacos are ahhhmazing and fresh. but, my favorite part about tavern is their brunch on saturday and sunday. i love going here in the summer for brunch, but especially in the winter too. 2 for 1 brunch liberations=great deal+great drinks. where to start with the brunch menu-my favorites are: benedict dos (with smoked salmon), huevos rancheros, and the singapore stir fry (which is again, my husband's favorite). also, if you need a side to choose, do not skip the white trash hash...you'll love it.

great place to be with friends. i love bringing my out of town guests here on early saturday afternoons to have agreatbrunch and start to the weekend!

rude much?. yes, rude hostess!greatfood! it's too bad that one comment can completely change the way we feel about a place. when we arrived it was busy and we were told it would be a 40 minute wait for a table. no problem, we got a seat at the bar and had a fine time waiting. after 45 minutes my husband went to check on the table and the hostess said it would be another 30 minutes. my husband said that was unacceptable to which she replied " well, you can go somewhere else. this is a very popular place." really?! no matter how busy you are, you never have the right to speak to guests that way. it's too bad because we really liked it otherwise. i can't financially support a place that apparently doesn't need my business.
