tavern burger is outstanding. we had lunch today for the first time at tavern but it sure won't be the last!
the tavern burger is outstanding! made of beef ribeye and filet, the burger was juicy and the taste of high end beef. the plate was served with very fresh lettuce, fresh tomatoes, sliced tomatores and a "meltaway" bun which we believe means that it had butter on it as it was delicious! in addition, the burger came with a huge bowl of belgium fries (sea salt & garlic).
my friend had the mahi burger which was also served on a meltaway bun and very good. somehow he received different chips and when our server recognized it, she gave us even more chips. the sweet potato chips were some of the best i've ever had!
although the restaurant is loud during the lunch hour, by 1:30 we were able to converse at normal level.

i ordered the lettuce wraps. wanted something like with flavor. def was light. 3 leaves of butter lettuce, the chocked had obviously been pouched unseasoned to be used for other dishes. no sauce. i'm not taking about cheap this americanized dripping sauce.... the chicken was pulled apart and reheated the ends were hard. it was pretty though... the server took the amont of time to come to the table as my husband had finished his muffinetta ( veggie) which i ate half of. it's was butter soaked bun and need some kind of pesto or even a simple salt n peppering not just wet such and squash. bad bad bad. the manager was rude. the sever told me they were a " dry style" wrap... well in this case they were perfect. go anywhere else if you actually want to eat.

went to tavern for saturday brunch. it was packed, but that’s pretty usual for them, so i was still expecting decent food/service. that’s not what i got - service was very slow. it took more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and we had to ask multiple times for our bar drinks (although the bloody mary’s were delicious... once we got them). i ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict (they call it the dos) and the salmon was definitely just cold salmon from a can. yuck. also the english muffin was burned and the eggs were waaaay undercooked. not edible. not to mention the whole thing was so cold it could’ve come straight from the fridge. i could’ve done a much better job myself at home, with better salmon, and not paid like $13. i will not be returning to tavern, which is sad because it used to be a great brunch spot. not sure what happened.

we sat outside on the beautiful patio for a light summer dinner on a sunday evening. my companion ordered the special, a short rib quesadilla, a very generous entree enough to serve two people. the meat was fork tender and lightly spiced. we also ordered two fish tacos, one grilled and one fried served on corn tortillas, both were delicious. i requested the guacamole be served on the side (not my favorite topping) and our server, mariah noticed the guacamole was actually on the fish when she served our meal and asked if i’d like the tacos replaced. i responded that i could just scrape off the guacamole. later, we ordered the cinnamon roll bread pudding with caramel and mascarpone cheese (do not pass up this dessert!) and mariah kindly comped the dessert because of the guacamole mixup. the service was prompt, friendly and informative (she recommended the dessert!). don’t miss the sangria, the perfect drink for a warm evening, not too sweet and served with fresh strawberries and blueberries.

the tavern did seat us ( group walk in of 8 ) very quickly on a friday night and that was great however we were placed directly under these large amped up heaters. the heat was so strong! the cocktails took a very long time and weren’t that great. everyone really liked the food and the burgers really were delicious.

i went to the tavern to try the tavern burger. it's made from a blend of ribeye and filet minon. it was undoubtably one of the best burgers i've ever had. it was incredibly juicy and cooked perfectly.

aside from the burger:
fries- eh
service- pretty good, nothing special
atmosphere- classy
prices- a little bit expensive for a burger, but still worth it.

overall, it was a great experience and i'd certainly visit again. make sure to order the burger cooked medium.

had the tavern burger with blue cheese. lots of cheese which i love. the burger was under seasoned but the fries made up for it. had the chicken scratch beer. i would have that again. the service was prompt and friendly.

great atmosphere, great service, and fantastic burgers! don't even mess with anything else on the menu. if you're in the mood for a good traditional burger then this is the place for you!

great atmosphere but sitting in the bar area can be crazy even early in the night. the burgers are great and the sweet potato fries with jalapeño ketchup are not to be missed. service is a little spotty.

service is always great, but food is hit/miss. some things i've had, like the artichokes appetizer and burgers, are fantastic while some things, like the hamburger steak or fish tacos, are terrible. i've been three times in the past few weeks (a friend moved to the area) and each time they've been out of the first beer i've ordered, each time a different beer. might just be luck of the draw, but all three times seems excessive. the atmosphere and seating are warm and inviting and the bar area is really cool. for the prices and setup, i would expect the food to be a little more consistent.

one of my favorite areas to eat in nashville. i always have their jerk chicken nachos to share. it has a creamy black bean sauce that amazing and their own verde sauce to dip the loaded nachos in. for entrees i usually mix it up each time i go. everyday is a different special and the menu has a different variety for every type of eater (gluten free options, etc)

maple fondue – cardamom-scented / fresh fruit / red velvet waffle / blueberry cornmeal waffle / grilled sausages / frosted flake pain perdu. again exiting the conference for an extended break as the city of nashville’s humidity finally gave way to rain, it was perhaps an oversight of vanderbilt’s love of a boozy brunch that saw us arrive at tavern to the tune of a 90-minute wait, the time largely spent wandering nearby centennial park beneath umbrellas until a text called us forth from the pantheon to be seated amongst a mass of humanity with well lubricated co-eds screaming to be heard above the loud tunes echoing from high ceilings overhead.

i was happily surprised by how great the tavern is: food, service, atmosphere--all splendid. the fries are, guiltily, delicious and come in an oversized portion. (great for sharing) that said, most portion sizes are extraordinarily generous and our waitress never let our drinks get below half full before refilling. 10/10 would recommend, although keep in mind when it's late they do id!

this is billed as an upscale pub fare restaurant and one of the better ones in the vandy area.  the service was generally quite good.  selection from the bar was above average with plenty of local and near regional beers and spirits.  the food selection was quite promising and in general well prepared and presented.  flavor was not great.  most everything was unseasoned and pretty bland on average.  i probably would give this a second try, just in case it was an off night for the kitchen, as everything else was pretty good.
