fantastic. if you're looking for some great southern and soulfoodoutside of the main tourist areas in savannah, sweet potatoes kitchen is great! i loved the catfish with tomato relish, extra seasonings gave it a unique flavor. sides of black eyed peas and corn pudding were surprisingly flavorful and my biscuit was delicious. the sweet tea was weak and not to my liking but didn't detract from the meal.
the ambiance was a quirky mish-miash. brightly lit with bright colors, half the restaurant is finished in hardwood floors and decorations on the wall that reflect southern charm, the other half has an old linoleum tile that elicits a feeling of being in a gas station.
service was very good, plenty of attention was given by the hostesses and servers, though delivery of thefoodwas slow, 15+ minutes on an evening when the restaurant wasn't half full.
overall, though, greatfoodat a very reasonable price! probably not the place for you if you're looking for a romantic dinner out, but if we want a tasty meal in a casual setting, get yourself to sweet potatoes kitchen.
