suwuuu. we came in a group of 7, called an hour ahead to reserve on a friday night and surprisingly they gave us a table!

we pretty much ordered everything on the menu. tuna, salmon tartare, lobster roll, poutine, grill cheese macaroni, monte cristo, bbq ribs, cheese steak sandwich and were really impressed with everything. the dishes that really caught our attention were the lobster roll and the ribs, both were fantastic!

the waiter recommended the chocolate chip cookie and at first we were wondering how good a chocolate chip cookie is. but let me tell you, its a must get!! its freshly baked on the spot when you order it, filled with ice cream, warmed peanuts and dusted with sugar. it was a perfect end to a wonder dinner.

would definitely come back, service was splendid!

good food, slow service. i've been there at least 3 times...i love the lobster rolls and tuna tartar :)

but the waiter/waitress was kinda not really in their working mode, they never come to our table unless we waved our hands really hard ...maybe its because its too dark there

suwu is the old cafeteria, an institution for university students the morning after a wild and crazy night. many morning debriefing sessions have been held here. if the walls could talk…. cafeteria no longer exists and now we have suwu which is a nicer version of it predecessor, with a really funky décor, large long tables that people can share and a step at the front that made me regret wearing flip flops that morning.

suwu? more like wompwomp. my review will be based on these three criteria:

food: over priced for appetizer sized "meals"

drinks: tasty, but all filler, no killer, killer being alcohol

service: started off great but slowly our table got neglected, dishes were forgotten, means of paying took too long.

over all, very chic settings would much rather have spent $30 at triple crown and had a hearty meal.

awful, made my hubby and i sit on lil stool around the bar claiming all the tables had reservations( 1/2 stayed empty till we left) pricy for cheap entrées...the homemade pogo is a normal hotdog sausage with thin batter , cold food and watered down cocktails. the only cool thing about the place was the deco...

if you're looking for a loud and place to chill with friends, this is the place. i wouldn't recommend this for a romantic dinner, but for a fun night. the tartar was really good, and their home made cocktails are awesome.

i’ve been to suwu a few times now and have yet to be disappointed! it’s very unassuming from the outside, they don’t even have a sign so it can easily be missed. it’s at the corner of prince arthur and st. laurent next to the scotia bank. for those of you who know the area a bit, it’s the old cafeteria supper club. if you do wander in you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the decor, service, and of course, the food and drinks.

i was really surprised by my experience at suwu. a lot of people were saying that i needed to check this place out, so i went the other night with a couple of friends. firstly, the attention to detail they have there is absolutely amazing. they have actual antiques and no knock offs. they invite you in with a big chalkboard full of drink specials and "plates if the day" which apparently change very often. the food was amazing, we tried almost everything, and the server we had answered all of our questions. this was quite an amazing overall experience. i'd recommend going there and to call for a reservation to make sure you get a table. amazing.

best spot on the main !. 1. the food is delicious. partied there on friday night. staffis amazing, recognizes its clientele. runned by saintwoods which throw the best parties around town. drinks are good and the service is quick.
went for brunch on sunday, good prices, good vibe, only place where there is an open bar on mimosas for brunch on sat / sundays !
the place to be on the main for sure.
suwu is brand new and def has a brilliant future.

a must on the main. probably the best new restaurant bar on the main. sick concept, pretty girls everywhere, good service, hip hop chic, good staff and not pretentious. it is the opposite of everything on the main right now.

this week, i finally made it over to suwu in the plateau to see what all the craze is about. i brought my friend rita to join in on the gluttony, and was it ever glutinous...

very cool and hip spot. i've been going to suwu for a while now and decided that i need to write a review that reflects the type of restaurant that it is. first, this restaurant isn't like your typical restaurant on st-laurent. it has an atmosphere unlike any other place that is located on the main, which is a good thing. one of the most notable things about this place is that when you walk in you're greeted by everyone who works there, which always makes me feel extremely welcome when i go. second, the music is awesome. period. if you like hip-hop of all genres then this place is for you. third, the food is really tasty and unique, sometimes i end up ordering 2 or 3 things because i'm always unsure of what to eat. and lastly, the service is always top notch. the waiters/waitresses are really nice people and always makes the experience comfortable and memorable for me. if you're looking for a restaurant that has a very nice and welcoming atmosphere and gets fun past 11, this spot is a must.

well i don't really know where to start cause there are so many things to say!
when i came to montreal suwu became my second home! this place is amazing once you're in you never ever want to leave! starting of with the interior they created an amazing warm comfortable atmosphere and the well chosen hip hop music just suits this place perfectly ! definitely great vibe! the menu has a little bit of everything and for the prices the portions are great the tartars are amazing! definitely a must try ! i really love that most of the food is homemade and i always have the feeling every single meal is created with love!:) the drinks especially the cocktails are great! my favourite is the big booty ho! it's really sweet but also if you want something strong the old fashioned is probably the right thing to drink! now to the service! i must say i live every single one of the bartenders! all of them are great at what their are doing and they definitely know what they are doing! they nearly always have specials in the menu which mostly are creations of the bartenders! :) i love it! the waiters are just as good! so friendly and if you want extra sauce extra napkins extra anything they will get it for you :) the weekends get very busy but i just love how familiar everything is everyone's having a great time
