best sushi in sydney. definitely go here on a weekend and book a spot at the sushi bar. it's really part of the overall experience. this is definitely a high-end sushi restaurant but every penny is worth it here. the food here is exquisite and the sushi chefs are friendly and willing to accommodate special rolls that are not on the menu. my fiance gets the tunasashimieverytime and is never disappointed. the miso eggplant and the citrus salad is also very good, as i'm sure pretty much everything is! excellent wine and martini menu. we have dinner here and feel as though we've actually had a "night out" and not just a meal... my only complaint (as with most sushi restaurants in sydney), would be that there aren't a lot of vegetarian rolls on the menu. i would expect there to be at least one vegetarian roll with "exotic" ingredients such as mango or truffles or tofu... other than that, it's a great spot and i'm sure we'll be back many times!

i highly recommend the kingfishsashimiand wagyu and caviar sushi. these dishes really surprise me with fantastic flavour. the waitresses are gorgeous and very friendly. the atmosphere in the restaurant is really good too. good place to go!

spot on. everything from the service when we arrived to the food. absolutely spectacular. the soft shell crab hand rolls were amazing, thesashimiso fresh and tasty & the cocktails were super funky. 100% returning here again!

we were able to walk in without a booking, and sat at the bar where we watched one of the chefs prepare oursashimiand sushi, which was a lot of fun. we ordered oysters with ponzu, kingfish sashimi, a medium plate ofsashimi(12 pieces), balmain bug, wagyu tataki and a dynamite sushi roll. our favourites were the wagyu, which was served with pickled onions and egg yolk, was smokey, creamy and melt in your mouth delicious, and the balmain bug tempura- crispy, meaty, inventive and extremely flavourful. thesashimiand sushi were both very fresh and delicious.

for drinks we had the "inglorious bastard" cocktail, which tasted quite herbal, and "senpai", which was fruity and refreshing. both were welcome accompaniments to our meal, and neither was too strong.

service was very professional; overall we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and appreciated the extra touch of complementary dessert!

we came here due to the fact that it has good reviews. we left very disappointed and would never come back again.

- price: very pricey, the tasting menu ($75per head) is such a waste of money, below average quality (even worse than a sushi train outlet). onlysashimiwas okay, the rest of the meal was such a joke.
- service: it is our biggest disappointment. i don’t know the name of the waitress who served us as she didn’t wear her name badge. long story short: impolite, impatient, from the moment we ordered until when we paid our bill. didn’t even look at us, didn’t say thank you after handling the receipt.
we expected a good dinner (willing to pay a premium price) after a long day at work, cannot be more upset after this terrible experience

been to sushi e for lunch to celebrate my birthday.

-wasabi in thesashimiplatter are real wasabi (not those green powder cake you can get from a tub)

-one small fish scale on the bonito sashimi
-the wait staffs are a let down.
e.g 1. product knowledge: does not know difference between a chu-toro or oo-toro.
e.g 2. need to chase up the waiter to refill the green tea (it was a 30mins wait)
e.g 3. pushy -waiter inisit to collect our plates while we are still enjoying the food.

will i go there again? may be, but i will not expect much from the waiteress.

this is the best place for a date night or a catch up with a friend. the set up is so everyone can sit at the sushi bar and watch them make your sushi! ive been here twice now and its one of the best japanese restaurants i have been to. the oysters were fresh, the wagyu beef were soo tender and mixed well with their sauce, theirsashimiare always fresh. love their service also and will be back again when i come by sydney for anothet visit.

there was not enough places at sushi e today so you got to dine at the comfortable sofas at the bar next door.

sushi e is one of the most expensive sushi restaurants and the probably the most disappointing. the kingfish sashimi, spicy scallops and chawanmushi are very average. you can try bettersashimiat sake or glass brasserie. the foie gras chawanmushi tasted no better than those you could find elsewhere because the foie gras does neither enhance the taste of the chawanmushi nor make it more appealing. furthermore, i hope the chef know what ingredients are essential for chawanmushi because the all important ginkgo is missing.

one of the biggest disappointment in town.

food was great. tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the thicksashimi(not enough of them for $39!). have not touched the main dishes yet, but my friend and i ordered two rolls, agedashi tofu, foie gras, and thesashimifor two, and we went out of the restaurant with slightly tighter jeans and shortness of breath (not illness, just very very full). the umeshu was also fresh and not too sweet as some plum wines can be.
services was prompt and tentative without being interruptive (they asked us if everything was alright just the right amount of time).
i would say, the price tag was a bit steep, but it is fresh, it is in a fancy establishment (get it get it?), the chefs definitely know what they're doing and it's totally perfect for those of you guys who want to impress the ladies!!.
also, kinda awesome place to have a catchup night with your friends and quietly people watch. trust me on this.

was reading some of the reviews, and agreed that this is the place you want to take someone special to on her birthday.

having read many rave reviews and craving really good sushi, i decided to give this place a try with the swede. ordered the premiumsashimiand sushi platter to share and 2 miso soups. the seafood was fresh and the portions are good. over all a good japanese restaurant.

this sushi bar is right in amongst the trendy establishment. great atmosphere. the sushi chefs working hard and do not lose focus at all. freshsashimiof high quality, soft shell crab and bay bug sushi made to order. on the higher end of japanese dining with a good selection of alcohol, i can see the appeal.

sushi e had escaped my attention until a few weeks ago. the reviews and rating looked promising and i was not disappointed. dishes for the evening were thesashimiplate, salt and pepper cuttlefish and the highlight the wagyu roll. the rice in the roll was so light it like it wasn't there; the smoky beef flavour clear and present. the cuttlefish was also excellent and of thesashimisimply melted in the mouth. meals like this reminds me i don't eat japanese often enough. sitting watching the team prepare the food is fun particularly seeing a length of zucchini turned into a wafer thin sheet from skin to the core. kudos to the bar staff also. my cameron kick was outstanding.

ordered mixed termpura, smallsashimiand atlantic rolls. it's a pricey restaurant, hence food was good. but personally was not particularly impressed like what other reviews claimed. everyone dresses like they're going to red carpet so make sure you dress up a little too if you don't want to feel out of place (like us, in our nikes) just a friendly advice

came here for a birthday dinner. very freshsashimi(almost as good as my top place to go forsashimiin crows neat :)) sushi was great. ambiance was lovely, staff were attentive as well. the only downside i remember was the green tea ice cream which was the consistency and texture of clag glue (so have your dessert elsewhere). not very appealing. other than than, tops.
