it’s good. it’s very good. january marches on and the holiday season melts into the background, but still we find time for a late lunch with family members. it’s just the four of us, but this is a perfect number when sharing dishes. a warm welcome ticks the arrival box, and then an ever so generous tasting to help us decide our wine choice absolutely blows us away. this is something you don’t get even in a fine diner, but this is sunshine beach and the line is blurred between fine and ever so good casual dining. all for the better.
now the food. crispy rice cake contains quite the kick, and the bbqporkbelly is oh so more-ish. crying tiger beef ribs (off the bone) accompanied by a cucumber, snow pea and mint salad is a great combo. just beaten however by the green curry barramundi as consensus pick of our dishes. the red curry duck is on a par with rik shores. one minor gripe for me would be a preference for linen napkins. difficult to get a table, but well worth it. make every effort to get here.
