is my kind of place:. beer in half liter glasses, free wifi, interesting people, many vegetarian dishes and good beer. the full suspension even though low on alcohol packs more punch to the palate than most pale ales. the vegan breakfast included the most flavorful tofu scramble that i ever had plus they are serving organic ketchup and cholula, one of my favorite hot sauces.

great for a late night snack!. i was with a group of co-workers who wanted to go to a place where we could have good drinks, good snacks, and a nice place where we could hear each other talk! we found it at squatters.

the strawberry fields cocktail was amazing. very attractive, and very tasty. i am unsuccessfully trying to duplicate this drink myself!

we had the chips and dip - great salsas, guacamole and beans. we also had the appetizer platter. the onions rings and fried pickles were delicious!

i can't wait to go back and try their entrees and their beer.

i expected it to be better but it was still pretty good. 4/5 i got the steak and shrimp. kind of over priced for such a small steak and 2 shrimp.

beer, salmon, steak and shrimp!. i ordered the grilled salmon and my sister ordered the huge steak and shrimp! my salmon was delicious and the seasons were just right! my sisters steak was too raw for my liking but that is just my crazy sister! she likes her steaks not well done ewww! i did try her shrimp and it was good. we both wanted to try their beer. i ordered the vienna lager and my sister ordered the hop rising. i did like mine but my sister and i did not like the hop rising, too thick for our taste. we did enjoy our service and the people were nice.

alright, time for the first installment of the new beers i tried on the recent trip to las vegas for dustin's bachelor party. sorry, no bachelor party stories in this webspace... maybe check brent's facebook? our first stop (after spending the night in new orleans) was actually in the salt lake city airport, at a place called squatters pub . the brewery opened in 1989 and now they run 3 locations... the original in salt lake city, a location in park city, and a location in the airport. and for an airport pub the selection was really not bad. they had a wide range of the standard beers plus bottles of some of the specialties. first up was the squatters organic amber ale . it's a pretty typical looking amber ale served in an imperial pint glass. dark caramel color with a small white head, but on a bar pour you don't really want a large head, right? the aroma is malt dominant as it should be, but with a nice hint of hops. it has a good balance on the nose for sure. unfortunately the taste

beer oasis in an ale desert. if you are visiting and staying downtown, definitely worth visiting for a lunch, not dinner. it is big and loud, but that is ok during lunch time. the service is not so hot, but expected in a place like this. the food is decent and certainly better than other similar beer-food establishments. the beer is not strong or mind-blowing to beer aficionados but certainly worth trying. the ownership are the local rebels for the cause of defending the right to drink beer in the local area and the state of utah, with its myriad of arcane laws against drinking. definitely try the ipa if you are not sure or something seasonal is always worth a shot, but your best bet is getting the two different sampler trays and trying all of the varieties in small glasses with descriptions underneath.

we traveled down to salt lake from seattle last month for the wedding of eric's childhood friend. acclimating to a 30 degree differential in temperature was the biggest challenge. after landing, picking up the rental car and checking into the hotel, we wa

squatters is an institution in salt lake city. ask anyone where to eat and it will likely be in the top five.

go for the hummus and calamari plus local beers.. they have some great appetizers at squatters like the edamame hummus with flatbread, the mahumara, or the calamari. of course they are known for their local brews as well. try their beer sampler which comes out on a ski and allows you to try several different brews. their pizza is also good.
