so happy that kolkata finally got an authentic place for all theitalianfood lovers❤ absolutely loved the ambience, the prompt and kind service and the vibe of this place. the food is served fresh and is sooo yummmm. the cocktails are to die for. waiting to visit here next and try the other items on the menu.
for those planning to visit here for dinner, it starts from 7. since we visited around 5:30, we could only order from the high-tea menu that served cocktails and pizzas.

this place is located on the first floor of the harrington residency and is a few metres away from iccr. the lovely interiors will instantly lift your mood, though you might find a full house on any given weekend. i visited this place on noboborsho evening and was surprised to find it completely packed. the seats on the other side of the corridor somehow seemed more appealing. the ambience of the area adjacent to the bar is definitely much livelier, so i'd advise you to ask for a seat there.

coming to the food, all the dishes tasted great, though the portions were small. the staff is super attentive, courteous and helpful when it comes to choosing the best dishes from the menu. loved their mushroom crostini for starters and tortellini pollo pasta for main course. the sauteed mushrooms tasted great too. the salmon fillet with sauce bourride had an overpowering fishy smell which some of you might not approve of in case you're not a big fan of fish.

their cocktails are great. do try out their mulled sangria which i loved. the lime chardonnay tasted okayish. for dessert, the tiramisu was presented perfectly but didn't quite taste as good as it looked.

loved the hospitality of this place. a must-visit restaurant if you're a fan ofitalianfood and wish to try out its different flavours right here in kolkata.

located in harrington residency, a gorgeous old calcutta building, sorano has a delightful ambience. done up in creams and whites, it’s soothing, cozy and warm - and makes you just want to settle into one of their many seating areas with a glass of one of their delish cocktails and spend hours with a book…or your catching up with your friends.

i’m sceptical about most restaurants being able to serve up gooditalianfood that extends beyond the usual pizzas and pastas. and while sorano does have a really interesting selection of these, i would strongly recommend you try their other dishes.

my fam and i had the antipasti veg platter, the anchovy and passion fruit ceviche, the hazelnut crusted barramundi and some truly out of this world glazed pork ribs. everything was fresh and absolutely bursting with flavour. for dessert we shared a berry parfait that was pretty nice, though didn’t really blow me away.

i also had their sous vide gin. i’m a huge gin fan and this one hit the spot, especially on a warm summer afternoon.

elegant ambience, excellent food, great service. sorano ticks all the boxes that make for a great restaurant experience.

finally a properitalianrestaurant in town! very elegant, fine dining vibes!

loved everything that we had. the presentation was pretty and the taste was good. i tried
- the mushroom profiteroles- the earthy taste of mushrooms in choux pastries are a must try.
- potato pizza- if you like to experiment, this is a must have.
- gnocchi in butter sauce- airy gnocchi with perfect burnt butter sauce.
- agnolotti with mushrooms- perfectly filled pastas with a rich mushroom sauce. a must try.
- peach cake with ice cream- its different, its fluffy and its delicious.

the portion sizes are really small when compared to the prices, but its still worth a try.

sorano offers some of the best continental cuisines anditalianfood i have had till date. it has been quite a while since i tasted a perfect thin crust pizza (sicilian chicken putanesca pizza with added pepperoni and bacon),complimented with powdered cheese and chilli-oil. the pasta we ordered, which was called tortellini pollo with pan jus was literally chef's kiss! but the dish that stole the show and won our tastebuds was the scaloppine chicken breast cooked with sage and white wine. we also had some spicy chicken bruschetta that we paired with some red wine, though it was not that remarkable compared to the other dishes. we finished off with some chocolate and caramel fondant, which was the perfect sweet ending to our gastronomic extravaganza ( though we were really hoping to try the deconstructed fruit pavlova, which was unfortunately not available)!
now coming to the ambience and decor, they have left no stone unturned to make the place look as aesthetic and charming and instaworthy as possible! and the service left me impressed.. our waiter shovasish was very polite and efficient, we were hardly kept waiting and he was very knowledgable about the items in the menu and recommended the best dishes to us!
hoping to come back here again to try out some more delicacies!

i love authenticity in flavours and this place surely lives upto my expectations.
they have a lovely menu for food, wine & cocktails. very tastefully done interiors with warm lighting. the complimenting white walls and pattern style lights used, glam up the entire space.

went yesterday with office colleagues . this place was amazing. i believe this is the bestitalianin kolkata in terms of food, decor n cocktail. nice varieties of pizza and pasta. pizza i liked the most. comes to cocktail,again the varities are there. dalgona martini we liked the most. love their food, ambience and polite, smart behavior of the staff. service is very good. definitely will visit again.

kolkata’s need for a true authentic and out of the worlditalianfood has been taken care by sorano.

by far the bestitalianfood i have had in a looong time. elaborate menu. wide variety. and the cocktails are amazing.

if you're looking for some authenticitalianfood, you should definitely visit sorano. loved loved loved their cheese ravioli. you can taste the freshness and different textures of pasta. however, it's quite different from the regularitalianjoints in kolkata. ambience is great too, ideal for romantic dates. subhasish, who attended our table, waa very courteous and helpful.
quantity, however, is very less given the price they are charging.
also, book your table beforehand, specially on weekends.

lovely authenticitalianfood and amazing desert as well specially blueberry cheesecake gelato. would like to visit again after improvement of management. the staff is horribly managed and service is too late( have to wait 30 mins even for bill and drinking water) and over crowded place. even after booking a table 4 days in advance had to wait more than 45 minutes.
