the best italian iv had in kolkata ! the ambience is so good too !! chilli spaghetti and the mushroom pizza ( dont rem the exact name ) is excellent !! 😍

ambience was the only thing i liked. when i entered the restaurant, the staff literally talked for 5 minutes to decide whether we could enter or not and even if we entered they placed far away from the bar or the main place as if we shouldn't have entered. they did this to other people as well. their were several empty seats. i asked them to arrange there but staffs said that they cannot. coming to the food, it was okaish but overpriced.total waste of time and money. i won't revisit.

ambience cannot compensate for the pathetic and atrocious food served.
the food is greasy, bland, and inedible.
avoid: pizza, pasta, spaghetti, garlic bread, and risotto (of any type).
must have: a glass of water
criminal wastage of time and money.

several empty tables that we could not occupy as they were 'reserved' but were then broken apart to accommodate small groups and couples. very haughty behaviour. had the arancini, pear salad, sorano special pizza and asparagus and leek risotto. sub-par food taste and quality. we had two servers wirh zero communication between them. were not able to drink the coffee cuz the beans were burnt. not worth the money or the time.

so happy that kolkata finally got an authentic place for all the italian food lovers❤ absolutely loved the ambience, the prompt and kind service and the vibe of this place. the food is served fresh and is sooo yummmm. the cocktails are to die for. waiting to visit here next and try the other items on the menu.
for those planning to visit here for dinner, it starts from 7. since we visited around 5:30, we could only order from the high-tea menu that served cocktails and pizzas.
a must visit for sure. a big thankyou to the staff for the great suggestions and making our first visit a lovely one❤

one of the most calming and happy atmosphere. the drinks are amazing! do order passionfruit marmalade for all the sweet cocktails drinkers! welcoming staff as well!

this place is located on the first floor of the harrington residency and is a few metres away from iccr. the lovely interiors will instantly lift your mood, though you might find a full house on any given weekend. i visited this place on noboborsho evening and was surprised to find it completely packed. the seats on the other side of the corridor somehow seemed more appealing. the ambience of the area adjacent to the bar is definitely much livelier, so i'd advise you to ask for a seat there.

coming to the food, all the dishes tasted great, though the portions were small. the staff is super attentive, courteous and helpful when it comes to choosing the best dishes from the menu. loved their mushroom crostini for starters and tortellini pollo pasta for main course. the sauteed mushrooms tasted great too. the salmon fillet with sauce bourride had an overpowering fishy smell which some of you might not approve of in case you're not a big fan of fish.

their cocktails are great. do try out their mulled sangria which i loved. the lime chardonnay tasted okayish. for dessert, the tiramisu was presented perfectly but didn't quite taste as good as it looked.

loved the hospitality of this place. a must-visit restaurant if you're a fan of italian food and wish to try out its different flavours right here in kolkata.

this place transports you to a place outside india. the waiter’s here are super helpful and informed. the cocktails here are the best in the city. good authentic italian place the city was in a dire need of!

wow what an experience at sorano!
we had a reservation and turned up half an hour late. but the owner, having a huge experience in calcutta restaurant industry, still accomodated us 8 persons.
the food was so fast, and so fresh. more importantly, so amazingly tasteful and delicious.
bar service was also very nice, tasty cocktails and full variety.
one tip, since the waiters were new as the place is also new, they need some more experience in serving, as they were confused while serving.
i will definitely visit again.

located in harrington residency, a gorgeous old calcutta building, sorano has a delightful ambience. done up in creams and whites, it’s soothing, cozy and warm - and makes you just want to settle into one of their many seating areas with a glass of one of their delish cocktails and spend hours with a book…or your catching up with your friends.

i’m sceptical about most restaurants being able to serve up good italian food that extends beyond the usual pizzas and pastas. and while sorano does have a really interesting selection of these, i would strongly recommend you try their other dishes.

my fam and i had the antipasti veg platter, the anchovy and passion fruit ceviche, the hazelnut crusted barramundi and some truly out of this world glazed pork ribs. everything was fresh and absolutely bursting with flavour. for dessert we shared a berry parfait that was pretty nice, though didn’t really blow me away.

i also had their sous vide gin. i’m a huge gin fan and this one hit the spot, especially on a warm summer afternoon.

elegant ambience, excellent food, great service. sorano ticks all the boxes that make for a great restaurant experience.

went on a weekend with my friends. really happy with the food and ambience. the pizza is authentic italian. other main dishes were delicious too. looking forward to visiting again.

the ravioli and risotto were really good. but the burrata and focaccia were not as good. the place had a nice vibe and overall it was a good experience
