so happy that kolkata finally got an authentic place for all the italian food lovers❤ absolutely loved the ambience, the prompt and kind service and the vibe of this place. the food is served fresh and is sooo yummmm. thecocktailsare to die for. waiting to visit here next and try the other items on the menu.
for those planning to visit here for dinner, it starts from 7. since we visited around 5:30, we could only order from the high-tea menu that servedcocktailsand pizzas.

one of the most calming and happy atmosphere. the drinks are amazing! do order passionfruit marmalade for all the sweetcocktailsdrinkers! welcoming staff as well!

this place is located on the first floor of the harrington residency and is a few metres away from iccr. the lovely interiors will instantly lift your mood, though you might find a full house on any given weekend. i visited this place on noboborsho evening and was surprised to find it completely packed. the seats on the other side of the corridor somehow seemed more appealing. the ambience of the area adjacent to the bar is definitely much livelier, so i'd advise you to ask for a seat there.

coming to the food, all the dishes tasted great, though the portions were small. the staff is super attentive, courteous and helpful when it comes to choosing the best dishes from the menu. loved their mushroom crostini for starters and tortellini pollo pasta for main course. the sauteed mushrooms tasted great too. the salmon fillet with sauce bourride had an overpowering fishy smell which some of you might not approve of in case you're not a big fan of fish.

theircocktailsare great. do try out their mulled sangria which i loved. the lime chardonnay tasted okayish. for dessert, the tiramisu was presented perfectly but didn't quite taste as good as it looked.

loved the hospitality of this place. a must-visit restaurant if you're a fan of italian food and wish to try out its different flavours right here in kolkata.

this place transports you to a place outside india. the waiter’s here are super helpful and informed. thecocktailshere are the best in the city. good authentic italian place the city was in a dire need of!

wow what an experience at sorano!
we had a reservation and turned up half an hour late. but the owner, having a huge experience in calcutta restaurant industry, still accomodated us 8 persons.
the food was so fast, and so fresh. more importantly, so amazingly tasteful and delicious.
bar service was also very nice, tastycocktailsand full variety.
one tip, since the waiters were new as the place is also new, they need some more experience in serving, as they were confused while serving.
i will definitely visit again.

located in harrington residency, a gorgeous old calcutta building, sorano has a delightful ambience. done up in creams and whites, it’s soothing, cozy and warm - and makes you just want to settle into one of their many seating areas with a glass of one of their delishcocktailsand spend hours with a book…or your catching up with your friends.

i’m sceptical about most restaurants being able to serve up good italian food that extends beyond the usual pizzas and pastas. and while sorano does have a really interesting selection of these, i would strongly recommend you try their other dishes.

my fam and i had the antipasti veg platter, the anchovy and passion fruit ceviche, the hazelnut crusted barramundi and some truly out of this world glazed pork ribs. everything was fresh and absolutely bursting with flavour. for dessert we shared a berry parfait that was pretty nice, though didn’t really blow me away.

i also had their sous vide gin. i’m a huge gin fan and this one hit the spot, especially on a warm summer afternoon.

elegant ambience, excellent food, great service. sorano ticks all the boxes that make for a great restaurant experience.

perhaps the best italian in the city of joy.
i love authenticity in flavours and this place surely lives upto my expectations.
they have a lovely menu for food, wine & cocktails. very tastefully done interiors with warm lighting. the complimenting white walls and pattern style lights used, glam up the entire space.

truly didn’t meet our expectations. the food was very average. we ordered chilli and garlic spaghetti, 4 cheese ravioli in butter sauce, some signature pizza, a salad, a gnocchi and none of these dishes tasted delicious. i’d have liked more generous quantities of sauces, the dishes just felt dry. really liked the goat cheese croquets though. other than that, we must have ordered some 6-7 kinds ofcocktailsand they all seemed diluted. on asking the waiter, he laughed and said this is our strategy to make you order more. so weird. although the ambience was good, skeptical about visiting again.

finally a treat for italian enthusiasts.
amazing fresh made pasta and thecocktailsare to die for. the truffle whisky cocktail and truffle burrata was spot on. sophisticated ambiance and a very chill vibe.
