great food. finally someone has filled the lack of great indian food in victoria. the stuffed naan's are worth the trip alone and the rest of the food is so full of flavour.

my one piece of advice though for the owners is to change the lunch menu slightly. in comparison to the dinner menu, cut down the number of options to items that could be made slightly faster. cut down the size of the portions slightly and make it a more friendly lunch option. that means under $12, takeout friendly (slightly faster) options.

naaaaaann!. great buffet. i was eating the nan faster than it was making it to the table. hot fresh nan and well seasoned curries left me satisfied. chana masala was very good

great food......terrible service. it took 2 hours for us to get our food and we weren't the only table. in fact, we actually felt bad because we were getting served before people that were seated before us.
tip: bring a snack in your purse or pocket.....you will need it...its a very long wait and the servers have zero sympathy or understanding of how to react when the service is so bad coming from the kitchen - i amost felt embarrassed to eat when i got my food before others ahead of me.

however, food was good when it came.

a must try!. the sizzling tandoor restaurant doesn't disapoint. i have eaten there several times and i have tried many of the menu options and everything was absolutely delicious. i have to say i am now addicted. i crave their food on a daily basis! if you haven't tried it yet you are missing out! my personal favorites are the coconut curry and the cashew korma.

delicious food and good service. the best part is the team ensures food is as per individual taste levels and offers right choices and replacement if needed. the place is kept clean and properly lit. staff is polite. the indian staff too is well trained.

consistently delicious and crazy value for what you get. the lunch buffet is one of the best in town with lots of veggie options, salad, dessert and fresh naan. i always leave this place feeling satisfied.

got delivery from here (vegetable samosas, pakoras, curry, garlic and basil naan) and everything was pretty solid. i especially liked the sauces that came with the appetizers.

had been to this place recently. the seating was great. ambience too was good. had the buffet lunch. loved their butter chicken, tandoori chicken and dal makhani a lot. had naan with it which was soft and tasted good. overall a very good place.

well the worst restaurant i have ever been in my life. the road side dhabas in india would serve better food than the rip off this restaurant is doing.
negative in customer service and negative marks in terms of the quality of food.
we were a group of 4 visiting victoria and thought of going to this indian restaurant after looking at the ratings on zomato of 4.3.
instead of going for a regular buffet we thought of ordering ala carte from the menu as we wanted more in terms of what the buffet was serving.
firstly, the waiter who was serving us was very impatient in taking our orders. he was in rush. he walked off even before we completed our order.
secondly, we ordered 4 garlic basil naans which came out as burnt all four of them. and those naans were literally had burning taste. the owner said that that's how the tandoors in canada works and she questioned us whether we have been to indian restaurant before in canada, that's just stupid to say to customers.
yes we have been to many indian restaurants in canada and never faced a problem like the one we faced at this restaurant.
thirdly, when we told waiter about the naans, he could he will just remove the naans from the bill as if we were purposely making an issue over naan to not pay bills. but that was not the case.
later when we told the waiter that it wasn't about the bill.. he said you guys came in to the restaurant with a bad mood and spoilt my good mood into bad mood.
overall i would say.. do not go to this restaurant specially for all indians because this is not a restaurant for indians

incidence 1: the server

was very disappointed. food was delicious but service and the cleanliness of establishment was appalling. tables sat empty pilled with dirty dishes, and the floor was a mess of spilled food.

i love the lunch buffet here! delicious and a great price! the butter chicken is amazing as well as the pekoras! service is usually good and friendly. :)

(january 2017) i took take out again, and they screwed up our order again. we had two meals the same- one was medium/mild (mine) one was extra hot. guess what happened? after, i burned my mouth off, my dining partner realized why his tasted so uneventful. the woman particularly told us which was which. they should have written it on the bag or the package. this is second time they've made a major error in our orders, and again, there was only one person dining in the restaurant on the night we went (mid-week).

(december 2016) i took take out. consistent menu with uptown location. make sure you check your bag if you do takeout to ensure everything is there. we got home and realized out meals were missing. we ran back and picked up the meal in time before closing. they comped us a dessert. it was mid-week and the restaurant was almost empty. seems like a good romantic place to go.

i went to sizzling tandoor with my friends and had a great meal.  the service was very kind and attentive.  i had the beef vindaloo and it had nice big chunks of lean beef and a great vindaloo sauce.  i ordered it hot and it was indeed hot, with a great complexity of spice and vinegar.  my friends ordered various other curries and they're younger people who can handle spice but i think they found that mild and medium both leaned more to the "hotter" side of things.  bathrooms were clean and sanitary.  there are a lot of great looking options on the menu.  good naan and roti, delicately brushed with oil and with a good soft texture.  i'm not sure if it's my absolute favourite for indian food in victoria but it is certainly very good.  it's nice that they have a vegan menu for my vegan friends.  drinks and food all seemed appropriate in value for the level of quality.  nice atmosphere, good music, not too loud or busy.  a great place for a fine meal, especially with some good company!

first time at the sizzling tandoor. had the buffet lunch with the family. it was very good and tasty. the service was very good also. will return for sure.
