visited this place on a weekday morning, wonderful vibe along the corner with lots of cafes and teeming city life and poeple catching up on breakfast. surprised to find the place jam packed. albeit tiny, the place doesn't fail to impress, with cozy interiors and the warmth of demeanor. i was greeted by a young gentleman at the coffee machine, who helped me select my coffee-of the wide variety that they have - from tazanyan to kenyan and columbian. i settled in for the kenyan coffee-from kormut, kenya - flavoured as complex black plum and currant with sweet stwewed tomato. truly innovative. the single origin roasters - popularly called the single o ' is a wonderful place to visit for a good breakfast at the start of a beautiful day.

the banana bread was a delight too, much savoury.

had a friend carry on about single origin for a while. since i work nearby i thought i'd give it a go.

i tried the coffee, and i must admit, it is very nice. just the right amount of froth with a great aroma, you really savour the smooth silky taste.

it's a little more pricey than most places but, not by much. i'll definitely be back, i'm a sucker for good coffee.

had a breaky with a friend prework. we were easily able to get a seat and the waiter took our order promptly. i ordered my standard soy latte and poached eggs & my friend ordered a regular soy cap and banana bread.
the poached eggs were perfection ($8.50) and the toasted sourdough nice and crunched. unfortunately my soy latte was lumpy - bonsoy frothing ain't the easiest, i know, but i would definitely come try it again and get a skim or regular coffee. my friend said the banana bread was delicious and the coffee good.

delicious autumn lunch!. i visited single origin for the first time, today. it's small and a little cramped, and consequently loud, but woah the food was good! i had the daily special of cauliflower purée, quinoa and sausage in basil oil, and was pretty well floored; it was delicious! i had a few bites of their autumn vegetable salad with goat cheese mousse, too, which was equally tasty. my chai latté was also good (although i'm no connaisseur) and the service was very friendly. overall, a very good lunch!

a brilliant little walk up bar and also restaurant. i unfortunately only came through here for a coffee. which was absolutely delish and nice and strong. love the setup and the baristas definitely knew what they were doing whilst also with a friendly smile, impressive for a monday.

came here today for brunch, the flat white was great however the mothership bowl which i ordered wasn't. it was too salty, i tried to eat as much of it as i can because i don't like to waste food. but it got to every bite was like with grinded salt, i couldn't finish even half of it. i would come back for the coffee though.

definitely head to the single o in the cbd and not in surry hills. the staff are slow and hand out coffees to the wrong people. they don't have skim milk and the milk they did have was burnt.

terrible service. single origin was once a great cafe, it has, however, taken a dive. after experiencing the same disappointing service for the third time i won't be going back.

we sat outside on this small table on the side street. i love the atmosphere, especially in the morning. i ordered latte, which was alright. i almost forgot to pay after finishing my coffee lol.

excellent breakfast!. excellent breakfast spot - great atmosphere, quick and friendly service, and the avocado & feta sourdough is delicious!

rude service & ordinary coffee. i have only tried the takeaway from the hole in the wall where the main attraction is a test tube style coffee maker, said to be worth $40,000 and supposedly carefully guarded for fear of theft. the glass tubes look very scientific and interesting but the 'baristas' are rude & the coffee isn't special. overall, the coffee is no better that served in many other coffee shops, including a number within a block of single origin. the emperor's new clothes comes to mind.

just regret that i didn't try this place earlier.

known for its coffee bean, but also serve breakfast as well.

the breakfast menu has a lot of coffee touch to it. coffee butter, coffee salad sauce etc. mother's bowl is very big and filling which probably can't finish by a girl, but the veggie marinated to prefect.

the coffee here only use jersey milk, so forget about your skim milk lol.

they have seasonal cold trip/brew so make sure you ask for it if you like.

service in the morning just very smooth

baristas are too pretentious for my taste. gave it a few tries as this is one of the few places that does filtered coffee in sydney, but when their coffee grinder was broken and couldn't serve me and my friends, that was the last time for me. beans are ok, i prefer and get mine shipped from 7 seeds or padres in melbourne. better priced and better flavor for me.

single origin roasters has retained one of the top spots in the sydney coffee scene for many years, and it is no surprise why. with a constantly changing line up of single origin coffee, passionate staff, and a well establish atmosphere, you are always likely to get a great cup of coffee here. it is worth knowing that they only have single shots of espresso in their long blacks as a means of providing a more filter like flavour profile, but you can still ask for a strong long black if you are missing the thick crema.

single origin is a great place to visit, if you’re only after their coffee, they also have a ‘sideshow’ shop right next door to the cafe, where you can grab your coffee to go. if you plan to visit make sure you read up on the operating hours as they are fairly limited and unfortunately they are closed on weekends , so make sure you check the details below before organizing your next lunch date!
