$4 for a small flat white which was indeed the flattest of all flat white! go coles gas station, push flat white button on coffee machine and you get the same quality but $3.20 cheaper.

it was drizzling on my first visit to single o surry hills cafe. albeit the inconvenient weather, i left with a good impression.
i was seated at the front table and ordered myself a cup of flat white and mothership bowl. the coffee was on point, and the dish i had tasted excellent. the mixture blends perfectly and tasted so good i couldn't waste any bit of it. the staffs were also friendly n welcoming. i love how the cafe is located on a quiet corner of the street, allowing me to enjoy the meal with serene sounds of water droplets :)
will be back for more!

nice place. we went there on saturday and didn't wait to get a table. staff are friendly and nice. we ordered mothership bowl and crispy salmon. mothership bowl is a very good choice for people wanna keeping fit as it's quite healthy and with good favour as well. my husband said salmon is tasty but if more sides will be better.

i love that single origin is a 2 minute walk from my place although it can be dangerous as i can never control my coffee intake when good coffee is nearby. they're always busy for a reason but this never stops me from stopping by. friendly staff and amazing coffee. breakfast is good, simple menu which makes it easy to decide what to have.

this place is well known as the best coffee place in sydney. coffee, food & service here are always great. i had kenyan coffee as an espresso, it was sweet and balanced w lime & chocolaty flavour. one of the best specialty coffee place.

dropped by for a quick lunch and had the wagyu steak sandwich with swiss cheese and potatoes. this dish was absolutely delicious. prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. the place is frequented by many people and is an awesome place for grabbing a bite.

i can't tell you how good is the "black is back", and their self roasting coffees are nice. i recommend lucky13 for all coffee lovers! although the seating area is too narrow.

in short: come here for brunch. fresh, healthy food that's light on your stomach and makes you feel good about yourself afterwards. mostly vegetarian. get the coffee. get the affogato.

food:
pretty damn good. the affogato was amazing. i just regret not being tired that day and so not getting one of their coffees. what a damn shame. the options here are extremely healthy and almost all vegetarian, so if that's your thing, you'll absolutely adore it here. i wouldn't say it's filling, but that's not what you'd come here for. it's a great place for brunch and lunch. their most recommended options are 'the mothership bowl' and the 'cured salmon pastrami' if you're looking for a proper lunch.

ambience:
it's an adorable, little cafe (little is the key word here) with little outdoor tables and chairs, and blankets in case you get cold. even if you choose to sit inside, the huge windows are wide open and you basically feel like you're sitting on the street anyway. it's great! also a huge plus that this cafe is in a small side street with very little car traffic going through so you don't have the loudness that usually comes with sitting on the street. also, people are always walking by with their tiny, adorable dogs (how very surry - really, there were 2 pomeranians and a dog walker who walked by in the 30 minutes i sat there for).

service:
quick and polite. no complaints here.

transport:
it's difficult to get here by public transport - trust me, we got lost running around in circles in surry hills for about 20 minutes. maybe that's just because i'm terrible with directions and need to be led around like a child though hahaha. however, i'm sure it's even harder to park around here, so maybe just take the bus. it's not a long walk if you don't get lost - about 10 minutes from the nearest bus stop on elizabeth st, i think.

from the outside you'd think this would be a typical surry hills café... and you'd be right but by god they've got a delicious burger.

textbook cheese burger with american cheese, a perfectly cooked patty and mustard that's to write home about (or online as it were).

at 15 dollarydoos there are definitely more affordable burgers around but this one certainly hit the spot.

top notch coffee and top knots too.

sitting on the corner of reservoir and hands lane, appears an unexpected cafe of greatness. though i've only come here for the "infamous banana bread" as referred to by numerous articles online, it's encouraged me to return to further explore their menu (will update when the time comes).

the cafe is certainly small but manages to provide efficient number of seating to comfortably dine your brunch. i was quickly greeted by a nice gentleman, whom asked me for my order and my name.
one thing i'll give single o is their customer interaction. i would hope many cafes would experience and learn their simple yet valuable awareness of customer care. the waitor continued to refer to me via my name and when he asked how my day was, it was the most interesting tone of voice, he actually wanted to know -that was pretty cool.

banana bread had the thickness that i was after and to top it off, it was soft (i like to call it fluffy) inside. it was fantastic. none of that syrup residue on a gooey-like banana slice, this was delicately baked, thick and fluffy! i would have preferred it to be toasted for longer as i love a more noticeable crispy outer texture to a good sweetness though this is to personal preference so i would encourage others to give this place and their banana bread a go.

it was topped with a squirt of their infamous espresso butter which was literally salted butter with a burst of coffee. you'd expect bitterness from the coffee but as soon as you tasted coffee, it was greeted with an overwhelming butter goodness. it is an enjoyable tasting adventure and will definitely return.
