excellent real mexican!. first time i have had real tacos al pastor in the usa. excellent service, theowneroffers a personal touch, good menu choices for everybody. margaritas are great!

cheap eats with friendly service. my husband and i are always on the prowl for new places that offer great quality food made from fresh ingredients for a fair price. if they serve tacos, that's a bonus. our favorite type of tacos are true mexican style tacos (meat, cilantro, onion and lime). came across this one while perusing the urban spoon directory and decided to give it a try (even if it was a 40 minute drive for us). i ordered the number 1 (two mexican style tacos). 1 with carnitas and the other with pastor. my husband ordered the same, but with 2 carnitas. we placed our order and grabbed a table. my husband grabbed a small portion of each of the fresh homemade salsas from the salsa bar. my favorite was the ranchero, my husband favored the habanero.the young lady brought us our complimentary chips (extra charge for take out orders) and the queso we ordered. their queso was delicious and creamy. consistency was dead on. then are tacos were brought up with little wait and we quickly dove in. the carnitas taco was great, but nothing stand out about it from other places we order carnitas from, but the pastor in my opinion was a winner for me. the meat was very juicy and just full of flavor. we quickly ran out of chips and i sent my husband to the counter to purchase another order of chips. the gentleman (who appeared to also be the owner) was more than happy to just refill us on the chips for no charge. we both had a jarritos soda to go with our meal. our taco orders were just $4.99 for 2 tacos which is a great deal to us. most places we get the same type of tacos from average out to about $2.79 per taco. so for 4 tacos (2 each) a cup of queso, 2 baskets of chips, and 2 bottled sodas we paid $17 and some change. a very fair price for what we experienced. i can't wait to go back. i'm looking forward to trying their enchiladas and the 12in burrito, while my husband has his eye on the carne asada meal. we will more than likely start using this as our regular sunday brunch place. theownertold us all about the great drink specials they had every day. we only encountered theownerand the young lady who rang us up and both were just out of this world friendly and made us feel very welcomed. you can tell this place really cares about the customers. we can't wait to take our friends and family to this new spot.

best casual mexican food. just moved here from milwaukee where we were spoiled with delicious and authentic mexican food. thanks to urbanspoon for introducing us to si señor and its'ownerjohnny. food was so yummy and the place is comfortable as can be. heading there again and again....lori

delicious!! thanks urbanspoon!. came here for lunch with my coworkers; saw it had great reviews on urbanspoon (so thank you!). we were greeted by theownerwho was very friendly (as well as his staff) and very patient with us newbies. i had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, as well as chorizo hard taco. both delicious and fresh! i loved the taco! they also have a homemade salsa bar with (i think) 6 different salsas! my favorite was the avocado one with a bit of the hot mixed in and the racherita salsa! they bring the food out to you very quickly and also check to see if you need anything throughout your meal. the only downfall i saw with this place is that it is a little small in regards to the walkway but it's so delicious and great, that won't stop me from coming back! they also have a fuseball table :) and 2-4-1 margaritas all day. :)

yum!. i had lunch here today with my coworkers. i got the steak and chicken american tacos. very good and fresh! they got the enchilada special and liked it as well. nice selection of salsas to try with the complimentary chips. theownerwas very friendly. food came out fast. will return to try the 2-4-1 margaritas!

delicious and fresh. went for lunch today. was hoping for shrimp, but it is not on the menu yet. theownersuggested grilled mahi tacos with aztec sauce. was absolutely delicious, fresh. $6.99 for 2 tacos and chips. i do think it should have included rice or beans for the price. ordered guacamole, was literally made for us. very fresh and full of flavor. also shared the cheese quesadilla, also good. we loved the salsa bar, poblano salsa was amazing. enjoyed the fresh radish and sweet onions too. finished our lunch with tres leche for dessert. very authentic. will definitely come back.

coming from texas, this is the real deal. very authentic and for a good price! theownerwas very friendly and was making sure we had everything while at our table. the food was delivered promptly and the restaurant was clean! a must try!

the food is delicious and as fresh as you can get. very affordable and the staff is incredibly friendly. theowneris enthusiastic and even works at the register. he will give you a great introduction to the menu if you tell him its your first visit. the staff is genuinely kind and theownerpersonally asks you how your meal is. i couldn't have asked for a better experience. i wish there were more of these restaurants around florida.

good lunch!. a few of us from unf really enjoy coming here for lunch. great homemade salsas at the bar and tasty fresh eats. i always get a number 1 with chicken and love it with fresh lime squeezed on it (corn tortilla street tacos). it is cheap and always fresh. theowneris incredibly friendly and we have always had excellent service when visiting. we can get in and out quickly and for a good price. theowneroften brings fresh chips to the table for us gratis. we always have a good experience.

super nice place with the real deal mexician food. well i say yea their that good. i have had some pretty darn good mexican food here in town but this place just topped the whole restaurant scene here in jax. we were greeted by a very nice gentleman at the counter when we entered. with further discussion we found out he owned the place. he explained the menu item to us in his heavy mexican accent and broken english. we looked, we asked questions and then i ordered the tacos one with pork (carnitas) and one with chicken (pollo asada). the wife had the enchiladas suizas. we talked to theowneronly for a short time finding out that this is his first restaurant and he is from chicago. i also showed him my yelp account an he had know idea that there was such a site. i also showed him that the place had the highest rating that they could get and that's why we traveled 25 miles to eat here. when our food arrived it was quite pretty and smelled like mexican heaven. now the pork was melt in your mouth tender and the flavors were amazing. i have to get the recipe for this one. the chicken was also as tasty. now the tacos were stuffed to almost overflowing. there was so much meat on them that there was no picking it up and folding over the tail end. that way nothing falls out. now the enchiladas were very scrunches nicely spiced and rolled in very soft tortillas and covered with a white creamy mix of tomatillo and queso fresco mixture that just excited your taste buds. i could tell that theownerwas very nervous about our opinion of their food and then very happy with our approval of it. i can't wait to return to si senor and feast on their little more authentic real beef (beef tongue) on fri, sat, if any are left sunday or the house made torta bread in the very near future either. maybe lunch today.

as authentic as you can get with being in mexico! i had the #2 with steak. sooo good! we will be here every wednesday befor we go bowling.ownerwas amazing

delish!. i live right down the street from here and had heard a few good things about this place and wanted to check it out. the food is reallllllyyyyyy good, and fresh! i actually find myself craving the food regularly. theownerwas really friendly, the place is cute & clean. and the 2-for-1 special is definitely pretty awesome too.

delicious!. after noticing this restaurant when i drove by a few days ago, i conducted a search for reviews on urban spoon.......after reading all of the positive reviews, i decided i needed to check it out. the food was incredible, and theownerwas as well! it was a delicious and fun experience! i ordered the sopes, as was recommended in the reviews...yum!!! i'll be back.....that's what i have to say about that! :d
