si señorfreshmex is the real deal! my husband and i ate here for the first time this evening and will most definitely be returning. service, prices, and food were all great. highly recommend trying the carnitas torta.

ate dinner here su -had the steak fajitas. the meat was a bit chewy, but not too bad. still, it and the (marinated?) veggies were veryfreshand flavorful -very good to excellent. the portion was all i cared to eat with some left over. the beans were good to very good, but served fairly cold. the chips were ok to good, but the tomatillo and ranchero salsas on the salsa bar were very good to excellent -veryfreshand i gather made there. the tomatillo salsa had noticeablefreshlime juice in it. i will certainly be back when nearby and readily if not strongly recommend.

love it!! checklist for authentic mexican: spanish speaking staff-check, telemundo on tv-check, a california burrito that includes french fries-check, and great salsa. they offer a salsa bar with salsas that range in heat levels and pepper variety. the guacamole wasfreshand well seasoned as was their chicken and beef. the california burrito impressed this cali native.

cheap eats with friendly service. my husband and i are always on the prowl for new places that offer great quality food made fromfreshingredients for a fair price. if they serve tacos, that's a bonus. our favorite type of tacos are true mexican style tacos (meat, cilantro, onion and lime). came across this one while perusing the urban spoon directory and decided to give it a try (even if it was a 40 minute drive for us). i ordered the number 1 (two mexican style tacos). 1 with carnitas and the other with pastor. my husband ordered the same, but with 2 carnitas. we placed our order and grabbed a table. my husband grabbed a small portion of each of thefreshhomemade salsas from the salsa bar. my favorite was the ranchero, my husband favored the habanero.the young lady brought us our complimentary chips (extra charge for take out orders) and the queso we ordered. their queso was delicious and creamy. consistency was dead on. then are tacos were brought up with little wait and we quickly dove in. the carnitas taco was great, but nothing stand out about it from other places we order carnitas from, but the pastor in my opinion was a winner for me. the meat was very juicy and just full of flavor. we quickly ran out of chips and i sent my husband to the counter to purchase another order of chips. the gentleman (who appeared to also be the owner) was more than happy to just refill us on the chips for no charge. we both had a jarritos soda to go with our meal. our taco orders were just $4.99 for 2 tacos which is a great deal to us. most places we get the same type of tacos from average out to about $2.79 per taco. so for 4 tacos (2 each) a cup of queso, 2 baskets of chips, and 2 bottled sodas we paid $17 and some change. a very fair price for what we experienced. i can't wait to go back. i'm looking forward to trying their enchiladas and the 12in burrito, while my husband has his eye on the carne asada meal. we will more than likely start using this as our regular sunday brunch place. the owner told us all about the great drink specials they had every day. we only encountered the owner and the young lady who rang us up and both were just out of this world friendly and made us feel very welcomed. you can tell this place really cares about the customers. we can't wait to take our friends and family to this new spot.

closest thing to cali mexican. i've come to find the term "authentic mexican" is used very loosely here in jacksonville. this is not the case, however, at si senor. this is without a doubt the closest thing i've had to the mexican food i ate when i lived in san diego. no bottled salsa or guacamole mix here, justfreshingredients with big flavor. the carnitas are excellent; tender, succulent, and not overly salty like many places. thefreshsalsa bar is also a big plus. they have 5 or 6 salsas ranging from mild to tongue-numbingly hot! if you live anywhere in jax or are just passing through and want some true authentic mexican cuisine, you must visit si senor.

the food was reallyfreshand yummy! the service was really good too, i would recommend this place to anyone. definitely, a+ restaurant.

delicious and fresh. went for lunch today. was hoping for shrimp, but it is not on the menu yet. the owner suggested grilled mahi tacos with aztec sauce. was absolutely delicious, fresh. $6.99 for 2 tacos and chips. i do think it should have included rice or beans for the price. ordered guacamole, was literally made for us. veryfreshand full of flavor. also shared the cheese quesadilla, also good. we loved the salsa bar, poblano salsa was amazing. enjoyed thefreshradish and sweet onions too. finished our lunch with tres leche for dessert. very authentic. will definitely come back.

a good change. our first visit to si senorfreshmex and we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who explained the ordering process and pointed out the salsa bar. my husband ordered a burrito and it literally filled up the entire plate! it was stuffed to capacity with ingredients, the steak was very tender and the entire thing was smothered in cheese sauce. i had the chimichanga and it too was loaded with tasty, tender steak and was fried to perfection. the chips tastedfreshand the salsa bar offered several different varieties.

one of the very best cali-mexican restaurants in the 904 is si senor! located @ 3546 st. johns bluff road, this small mom & pop restaurant brings it on withfreshand taste bud tingling flavors.

after placing our order at the counter the server delivered afreshbasket of warm chips and introduced us to their salsa bar. loaded with six different flavored salsas ranging from mild to hot, the bar also had my favorite taco fixins,freshchopped onions and sliced jalapenos.

we opted for the self serve fountain drinks. i ordered the si senor tacos. these two soft flour tortillas came stuffed with a mixture of grilled steak an onions topped with cheese. unlike other restaurants the steak was tender and loaded with flavor. the tacos are also available in ground beef and chicken.

my associate ordered the chicken chimichanga. this culinary delight was bursting with shredded chicken and topped with red sauce, sour cream, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and melted cheese. i sampled a bite and was in flavor heaven. like the steak tacos i had ordered the chicken was well seasoned and moist. the side accompaniment of rice and refried beans were prepared well and complimented the main entree.

besides these delicious favorites, si senor also has a full line up of burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and tacos. tortas are also on the menu. main stay entrees like pork carnitas, pollo loco and taco salads are featured dishes too. even though i didn't order the nachos i do know what they look like and all i can say is hmmmmmm. i know what i'm getting next time.

the staff do an outstanding job of making you feel comfortable. the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. unlike other mexican restaurants in the area, si senor actually is a legitimate one. they prepare their food like its suppose to be, excellente!

the food is delicious and asfreshas you can get. very affordable and the staff is incredibly friendly. the owner is enthusiastic and even works at the register. he will give you a great introduction to the menu if you tell him its your first visit. the staff is genuinely kind and the owner personally asks you how your meal is. i couldn't have asked for a better experience. i wish there were more of these restaurants around florida.

the real deal. i've been eating here since they first opened and have never been disappointed. the food is alwaysfreshand hot!! service is always on point. finally a real authentic mexican food in jacksonville.

good lunch!. a few of us from unf really enjoy coming here for lunch. great homemade salsas at the bar and tastyfresheats. i always get a number 1 with chicken and love it withfreshlime squeezed on it (corn tortilla street tacos). it is cheap and always fresh. the owner is incredibly friendly and we have always had excellent service when visiting. we can get in and out quickly and for a good price. the owner often bringsfreshchips to the table for us gratis. we always have a good experience.
