ate dinner here su -had the steak fajitas. the meat was a bit chewy, but not too bad. still, it and the (marinated?) veggies were very fresh and flavorful -very good to excellent. the portion was all i cared to eat with some left over. the beans were good to very good, but served fairly cold. the chips were ok to good, but the tomatillo and ranchero salsas on the salsabarwere very good to excellent -very fresh and i gather made there. the tomatillo salsa had noticeable fresh lime juice in it. i will certainly be back when nearby and readily if not strongly recommend.

love it!! checklist for authentic mexican: spanish speaking staff-check, telemundo on tv-check, a california burrito that includes french fries-check, and great salsa. they offer a salsabarwith salsas that range in heat levels and pepper variety. the guacamole was fresh and well seasoned as was their chicken and beef. the california burrito impressed this cali native.

says $7.99 pints. i thought it was a misprint. pint of beer is $7.99 and then you get one free. i would take that sign
down and just sell $4.00 beer. should be about $2.50 in a fast food mexican place. i probably won't ever go there
again. probably a good place for lunch.

fast and good. we went in and the person taking orders was friendly and helpful. we made our orders, got our drinks and sat down. when eating in they serve chips and have a salsa bar. the salsabarhad some interesting choices, including a poblano avocado choice that was lively and very good. our food came out and was very good. my wife had a chicken chimichanga and i had two si senor tacos pastor, soft shell tacos with grilled onions, cheese and pork (pastor). we would definitely come back.

closest thing to cali mexican. i've come to find the term "authentic mexican" is used very loosely here in jacksonville. this is not the case, however, at si senor. this is without a doubt the closest thing i've had to the mexican food i ate when i lived in san diego. no bottled salsa or guacamole mix here, just fresh ingredients with big flavor. the carnitas are excellent; tender, succulent, and not overly salty like many places. the fresh salsabaris also a big plus. they have 5 or 6 salsas ranging from mild to tongue-numbingly hot! if you live anywhere in jax or are just passing through and want some true authentic mexican cuisine, you must visit si senor.

delicious!! thanks urbanspoon!. came here for lunch with my coworkers; saw it had great reviews on urbanspoon (so thank you!). we were greeted by the owner who was very friendly (as well as his staff) and very patient with us newbies. i had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, as well as chorizo hard taco. both delicious and fresh! i loved the taco! they also have a homemade salsabarwith (i think) 6 different salsas! my favorite was the avocado one with a bit of the hot mixed in and the racherita salsa! they bring the food out to you very quickly and also check to see if you need anything throughout your meal. the only downfall i saw with this place is that it is a little small in regards to the walkway but it's so delicious and great, that won't stop me from coming back! they also have a fuseball table :) and 2-4-1 margaritas all day. :)

a good change. our first visit to si senor fresh mex and we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who explained the ordering process and pointed out the salsa bar. my husband ordered a burrito and it literally filled up the entire plate! it was stuffed to capacity with ingredients, the steak was very tender and the entire thing was smothered in cheese sauce. i had the chimichanga and it too was loaded with tasty, tender steak and was fried to perfection. the chips tasted fresh and the salsabaroffered several different varieties.

one of the very best cali-mexican restaurants in the 904 is si senor! located @ 3546 st. johns bluff road, this small mom & pop restaurant brings it on with fresh and taste bud tingling flavors.

after placing our order at the counter the server delivered a fresh basket of warm chips and introduced us to their salsa bar. loaded with six different flavored salsas ranging from mild to hot, thebaralso had my favorite taco fixins, fresh chopped onions and sliced jalapenos.

we opted for the self serve fountain drinks. i ordered the si senor tacos. these two soft flour tortillas came stuffed with a mixture of grilled steak an onions topped with cheese. unlike other restaurants the steak was tender and loaded with flavor. the tacos are also available in ground beef and chicken.

my associate ordered the chicken chimichanga. this culinary delight was bursting with shredded chicken and topped with red sauce, sour cream, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and melted cheese. i sampled a bite and was in flavor heaven. like the steak tacos i had ordered the chicken was well seasoned and moist. the side accompaniment of rice and refried beans were prepared well and complimented the main entree.

besides these delicious favorites, si senor also has a full line up of burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and tacos. tortas are also on the menu. main stay entrees like pork carnitas, pollo loco and taco salads are featured dishes too. even though i didn't order the nachos i do know what they look like and all i can say is hmmmmmm. i know what i'm getting next time.

the staff do an outstanding job of making you feel comfortable. the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. unlike other mexican restaurants in the area, si senor actually is a legitimate one. they prepare their food like its suppose to be, excellente!

good lunch!. a few of us from unf really enjoy coming here for lunch. great homemade salsas at thebarand tasty fresh eats. i always get a number 1 with chicken and love it with fresh lime squeezed on it (corn tortilla street tacos). it is cheap and always fresh. the owner is incredibly friendly and we have always had excellent service when visiting. we can get in and out quickly and for a good price. the owner often brings fresh chips to the table for us gratis. we always have a good experience.

nothing great. my husband and i decided to stop here for lunch after reading all the great reviews. we were disappointed. the food didn't taste great at all. very bland. we had the california burrito and the chimichanga. the person greeting us/taking our order wasn't friendly. the salsabarwas ok, nothing great. definitely will not return. the rice and beans option was very bland as well.

new favorite. move over all other mexican restaurants, si senor fresh mex is the best. i had high expectations after getting good recommendations about this new restaurant, and my expectations were not only met, but exceeded. excellent, fresh made dishes from the salsa to the flan and everything in between. we tried the chicken and asada sopes and the steak chimichanga.the flavor and portion sizes were generous. the fresh salsabarreally impressed me offering some unique choices like the warm pablono and avocado salsa. the beans and rice are usually an afterthought for us at mexican restaurants,but these sides were absolutely delicious. even though you will be so full you will have to take it to go, definitely treat yourself to the homemade flan, you will not be disappointed. the caramel flavor and rich consistency make this dessert worth writing home about.

glad i went!. this is just up the road from my house, but for some reason never tried it out. saw that it was highly ranked on urbanspoon and dropped in for some tacos and sope. delicious! i had asada and pastor tacos, while my wife ordered chicken sopes - it was all good. they also have a small salsabarwith a nice assortment from mild to hot. the food was excellent, and as a bonus, the staff is friendly and keeps the place very clean. highly recommended.

best. tacos. ever.. this was my first trip. i think si senor fresh mex is new and does not appear to be a chain. i had the si senor tacos, one with chicken and one with steak. this taco is a soft shell taco with meat, grilled onions, and cheese. they have a fresh salsabarthat is very simple but the salsa is made fresh and the flavors are good. the hot is very hot. the tacos themselves are unbelievably good, the meat was grilled with a light oil and seasonings. the chicken was slightly blackened and the flavor was outstanding. i know it sounds like an exaggeration, but these are literally the best tacos i've ever had. i can't wait to go back and try something new!
