great pizza! it's the best pizza i've ever eaten. i would highly recommended thisplaceto anyone. the service is wonderful, extremely cool people.

unique and very special.  i moved to johnson city from asheville, nc and have been missing the small, entrepreneurial restaurant crowd.  thisplacehas the perfect blend of atmosphere and delicious pizza.  beautiful brick oven and a provenance of brick oven goodness that would be at home in berkeley.

disappointed. my husband and i wanted to eat here since we moved to johnson city a few months ago. finally we got the chance. the decor is great but it's dirty. at least 20 used pizza boxes were stacked up on the trash can behind our table. we came for lunch and were the only people in there so i can only assume they were from the night before. we got the pesto cheese sticks and the pesto was nothing special. the cups of pesto we got to dip had nothing but oil with maybe a sprig of basil at the bottom of the cup. the pizza came out and was decent but not great. we wanted to love thisplacebut unfortunately it was a miss for us.

worth the wait. the pesto cheesesticks are sooo wonderful!
if you get a pizza, be prepared to talk, be on the internet or go shop at the mall & come back for your pizza.
be open minded to new toppings or "trust" them to create you something new & exciting :)

my first few experiences were great. however, i am afraid this might be one of those (sad) instances where.....a greatplacegoes downhill, until their loyal customers disappear, leaving only a memory of what once was great....simply gone to pot! no pun intended. i usually get my pizza to go (order plenty time ahead as wait time can be ridiculous). atmosphere is more for young adults, too hipster for me. the staff are very laid back and relaxed.... good and bad. if you are in a hurry and they are behind and you ordered an hour before, told 20-30 minute wait (nudge, nudge, cough cough :), they remain laid back & relaxed without offering the slightest bit of empathy. now the pizza! i used to order the "trust" pizza. the pizza artisans used to be pretty reliable. although, i personally believe they're creativity has been stifled. the last two trust's were a small step above mom attempting pizza hut. be adventurous on menu, order plenty ahead and give it a try. maybe they will/have read the reviews and put the brakes on their swirling before they are flushed.

poor. i can recommend any number of good pizza places in johnson city. greg's pizza has been a main stay in the city for several years as well as the pizza of their competitor, rocky's. sim's, luke's, and the mellow mushroom all have great pizza. at scratch you can expect to pay 25 dollars for a mediocre pizza at best. two out of the three times i went here it was awful. not only was the pizza was burnt but the staff was rude and dismissive. the only draw thisplacehas is the environment but you're more likely to find an enjoyable atmosphere elsewhere. as for me i'll not go again.

great pizza!. i've visited several times and had take out pizza here. their meat is great and so is their crust on their pizza. laid backplacewhere you can bring your own beer and sit outside. i highly suggest it to pizza lovers!

my husband and i tried this after hearing about it for ever and ever. my husband is usually kind of picky and traditional with pizza, but he was feeling risky and, to my pleasure, agreed to the trust pizza (well, limited trust since neither of us like olives). boy, we weren't disappointed!!!!! the pizza was so flavorful and delicious, the toppings were loaded on, and we both adored the green curry sauce. we both agreed this was the best pizza we had ever eaten. the prices are incredibly reasonable!!!!! scratch is now our go toplacefor pizza!!!

best pizza in jc. this is easily my favorite pizzaplacein johnson city, and certainly ranks among my favorites overall (which says a lot coming from someone that has had their fair share of pizza in ny/chicago/italy). the service is not the most prompt, but the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable which makes up for it... with quite an eclectic collection of music to choose from too. don't pass up on the curry sauce or the chorizo!

pizza?. this is a kitschy little pizzaplacethat one so badly wants to like. despite the great ambience, the pizza did not live up to the hype. consider me a traditional pizza enthusiast and this pizza is anything but traditional. it was drenched in sauce, and the cheese was not completely cooked. the pizza itself was cut into an obnoxious tile pattern, leaving many pieces without an edge and less cooked. to top it off, the "peperone," as it is described in the menu, needed to be scraped off the top of the pizza to make it tolerable, yet still barely edible. organic or vegetarian is wonderful, but pizza should still taste like pizza.

this is the onlyplacei buy pizza from in jc. i love the fresh ingredients (the apples are a surprise) and baked goods. wish bread was still available, but will keep coming for the pizza. we haven't gone anywhere else since trying.

scratch is awesome.. just circle trust. thisplacehas great vibes, and i have traded records for pizza. all of their ingredients are super fresh, every thing here is delicious.

thisplacehas a great vibe. we drove past it at first, not realizing it would be in a house. i got excited just walking up to it. we tried the "limited trust" pizza, and it was fantastic. from the do-it-yourself music (all vinyl), the honor system drinks, the staff, and of course the pizza! i highly recommend it!
