sansei seafood restaurant & sushi bar

great service and incredible sushi. due to previous reviews, we tried the shrimp dynamite and it was no let down! the flavor was amazing with the garlic and the unagi glaze. spicy tuna was what you'd expect, but wasn't overpowering. the red dragon was my moms favorite. it sounded much spicier than it really was., it was smooth with a little kick. the boom boom was my favorite. it had a sweet taste that was unexpected. the pink cadillac was my wife's favorite. it was sweet mixed with masago, shrimp and eel. yellow submarine was almost overpowering with the pickled ginger, but the cucumber and masago tried to calm down the ginger. the kapalua butterfryrollwas the let down of the bunch. it was very fishy and needed the sauce and carrots. without it, i wouldn't have been able to eat it!

i would definitely suggest this place as a go to for sushi in maui. best place we ate on vacation.

so good, we went twice. we went twice for the 50% off after 10pm deal. you have to make a reso and if you're just two, sit at the sushi bar.

now here's the deal: the staff here deal with cheapos that go for the 25% off before 6pm, then they do a crazy dinner service and then they do the karaoke 50% off crowd after 10pm.. so you just gotta understand that and let your waiter know that you're fun and there to relax and have a good time. once our waiter knew that we were the real deal, he was awesome and took his time making sure we ordered the good stuff and had a great time.

also now that gratuity is added to the price of everything automatically on the full price so be aware when tipping but we tipped well because our waiters took care of us.

obviously the food is out of this world so i won't comment on that too much but yeah, the panko crusted ahirollis worth doubling up on .

fantastic food. we had a number of delicious sushi rolls but the arugula, ahirollwith the maui onion sauce is amazing. i recommend using the sauce for the rest of the rolls, it's that good. i was skeptical when a dinner partner ordered the seafood pasta but the black bean maui onion sauce made it so much more than your typical seafood pasta. amazing stuff and trudy at the bar is there to help you find something tasty to wash everything down.

went for sushi, we had been looking forward to our meal here and we weren't disappointed! started with the dragonfly roll, moved onto the butterfryroll& the special roll. all were fabulous. excellent sushi. if you're not a fan of unagi (eel), though, you may be disappointed. it seems like a lot of the rolls had unagi. luckily, it's one of my favorites!

i heard a lot of great things so i thought we would try it for dinner last night. it may have been one ofthe more scattered meals i've ever had? the food was alright however it came out all overthe place. we ha a party of 3 and we all ordered at the same time. my firstrollcame out about 5 minutes before anything else? them my wife's two rolls came out. then 10 minties later my 2ndrollcame out. then about 15 minutes after that my daughters entree was finally ready? extremely disorganized kitchen i guess? i guess i was expecting better food and much better service? prices were very reasonable but you have to deliver some sort of quality service. it may have been the strangest delivery of a meal i have ever had? they made it seem like this is the way they always do it? not sure i'd try this location again?
