sansei seafood restaurant & sushi bar

this was one of the best dinners we had during our stay in maui! make sure to sit by the sushi bar to get the most intimate experience with your sushi chef. ours made our sushi and rolls instantly and was super nice! the rolls and sushi were both fresh and tasty. id recommend their ahi panko roll. they have really good half prices deals after 10 pm on friday, it made our evening very affordable. also great night to karaoke if you want to sing your heart out!

you might expect a sushi joint in hawaii to highlight the local fair but this place certainly did not. the sushi was good and the tuna was tasty, buy i guess i just thought this place was really generic and unoriginal. for the price and exclusive neighborhood i expected more.

the menu completely exceeded my expectations! i loved everything we got especially the top picks on the first page of the menu! be prepared to order several different dishes to try everything :)

awesome food. great sushi, wonderful tastefully sauteed onion rings. were stating in ka'anapali and this is well worth the drive up to kapalua.

the crusted ahi and dynamite shrimp were delicious. the tempura onion ring were sweet and battered nicely but could have used some hot sauce. stick with the award winners as the other rolls didn't stand out as much.

came here with my hubby and 3 kids and was not disappointed! the service was excellent; everyone was super friendly and our server was very attentive. our favourites were the dynamite shrimp and the teriyaki beef. the beef is cut into strips and is so tender. we usually have lots of leftovers but our kids enjoyed the food so much they finished every last bit of it!

ok, so the food was excessively good. not sure it's legal to be this tasty. recommend the 69 roll, it'll make it to their award winning list of items... which by the way are excellent. sat at the sushi bar and the service was crazy good.

food was good but unfortunately the service was poor. our table was squished back in the corner and easily forgotten about. the food my fiancé and i ordered came out separately; about ten minutes apart from one another. did not make for a good dining experience.

book before you go!!!! i waited more than 1 hour to get seats. but both food and service were totally worthy!! i love the lobster and crab ravioli sooo much!! tuna toro sashimi was beautiful~ everything we ordered was perfect!! definitely wanna go back on future trip to maui

great service and incredible sushi. due to previous reviews, we tried the shrimp dynamite and it was no let down! the flavor was amazing with the garlic and the unagi glaze. spicy tuna was what you'd expect, but wasn't overpowering. the red dragon was my moms favorite. it sounded much spicier than it really was., it was smooth with a little kick. the boom boom was my favorite. it had a sweet taste that was unexpected. the pink cadillac was my wife's favorite. it was sweet mixed with masago, shrimp and eel. yellow submarine was almost overpowering with the pickled ginger, but the cucumber and masago tried to calm down the ginger. the kapalua butterfry roll was the let down of the bunch. it was very fishy and needed the sauce and carrots. without it, i wouldn't have been able to eat it!

i would definitely suggest this place as a go to for sushi in maui. best place we ate on vacation.

we actually came here twice. once for takeaway as we didn't want to wait for an hour for a table or fight for one at the bar. the other we had actually booked a couple of days in advance. and make sure when you book, it's for the 5pm seating. there's a 25% discount!

food is quite tasty and prices were good and even better with the discount. not your traditional japanese sushi, with slight variations due to availability of fish and combinations.

both times we ate more than what we probably should have, but definitely recommend this place to others. go check it out! staff are also very helpful and friendly.

great japanese food & reasonably priced. had dinner here the other night - great food and really reasonably priced compared with other places in the area. the shrimp dynamite is a must - so delicious!! had the udon pork noodles, wouldn't rate those, but the beef fillet, shrimp dynamite, sushi rolls all were great!

one word - yum. :) pricey but for good sushi it was worth it. servers were a bit inexperienced and unfortunately a few of the rolls came out pre-prepared (not okay in my book for sushi) but very tasty overall. like other reviewers stated they have adult late night happy hour sushi (thursdays and fridays??) where you can get some good deals on their sushi. check them out if you're in town.

seriously. go to this place. check hours for special discounts. order the flash fried ahi and flash fried ice cream. bam.
