choices were good but expensive and small portions (like most other sushi restaurants in hi).

way better sushi in minnesota. the only reason i would go back would be because you get 50% off after 10pm (though i won't!)

awesome!. this restaurant is so good that i've been here twice in one week. the dishes are creative and the fish is fresh. one of the best fusion sushi restaurants i've been to. not to diss calgary, but the sushi at home doesn't compare.

unreal!. sansei has ruined us for sushi anywhere else! (being from prairies that's not difficult --- but we have eaten our share in vancouver) our server was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. we told him to order whatever he thought was best because we're not fussy. we ended up with a very memorable meal. we had the tuna carpaccio and the tuna shashimi - both amazing. but the piece de resistance was the foie gras sushi - one of the best things i've ever tasted. it almost melted in your mouth and the flavour was intense. i think we might go back to maui just to eat at sansei again!!

great experience!. mike and trudy at the bar, great service and drinks! (trudy is from texas) ask for mike's hendrick's special, possibly the best drink i've ever enjoyed! on to the food, all of it was delicious and perfectly prepared. the panko crusted ahi tuna roll, was good but too much fried characteristics to enjoy the natural flavor of the fish. overall, great experience!

another great job. i believe i wrote a review many moons ago about our experiences at sansei, but felt i needed to reiterate our affinity for this well anchored establishment. we hadn't been to maui for a couple of years and was happy to see that sansei was still going strong. we dined there twice during our stay, and loved it both times. great sushi.

sansei kapalua. we visited for 4 nights and had dinner at sansei on 2 nights
on both occasions the food was fabulous and the service impeccable.
truly a memorable seafood/japanese restaurant

great sushi. first, check their schedule - when we went, they had a 25% off all sushi and entree special for the first half hour they open. (get there early because they tend to fill up fast and then you'll be waiting a long time). sushi was fresh and delicious. we sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef was very friendly. favorite dishes were the ahi poke, and the scallop sashimi.

if this is the best sushi on maui it's a big shame. with all the fresh produce available you'd expect bright beautiful flavors; this is not the case. i love sushi and have made some great finds on the main land. this isn't even up to par with the last ones on my very long list. the food was on the bland side leaning towards tasteless. my husband and i came here full of hope and were definitely disappointed.

best sushi on maui!. sansei is consistently the best sushi restaurant on maui. fresh fish and good service make for a great meal. a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for (high quality fish). the best dessert: apple crisp. yum!!

fairly priced for the taste of the sushi. this was a wonderful dining experience. try the melt in your mouth goodness of the cajun white ahi sashimi. just awesome!!

awesome sushi. they have 25% and 50% off specials on certain days of the week. let the waiter choose your meal for you and you won't be disappointed.

sansei has received dozens of awards and accolades from nationally recognized critics & magazines, from bon appetit, food & wine travel + leisure and wine spectator, to loads of local awards from honolulu magazine and the maui news (among many others.)

reaaly fun place with great service and sushi. you definitely need a reservation unless you get in line for a table by 5 pm. not expensive for sushi. we met people there who had gone 4 nights in a row. no trip is complete without a visit to sansei.
