rootbar has definitely become one of my favorite healthfoodtakeaway joints. compared to kauai and other similar places, it just stands out by miles! and conveniently located on uct's doorstep, it makes for the perfect quick and pocket-friendly meal for us students.

i always have a difficult time deciding which smoothie i want to order, but so far every single one that i've tasted was heavenly. extremely fresh, thick packed full of vitamins and minerals, it's like the ultimate health shake. the caffe energizer is a truly unique mix, with that touch of truth coffee making for the perfect "pick me up" sort of drink. i'm also absolutely in love with the blueberry shake, and still on my list to try is the paradise, protein powerhouse (after a hectic gym session i think), sweetheart... actually, let's just say i want to try all of them. that's how good they are! totally next level!

as for the food, the wraps are tasty but quite small. perfect for a light lunch, but if you're starving, order yourself the wrap plus a 500ml smoothie. perfect combination! the salads are fantastic and i would highly recommend giving them a try. always fresh and full of flavor, even though it doesn't look like much from the sidelines. and their protein is always good quality and juicy. still on my bucket list to try is the vegetable lasagna, their gluten free brownies and protein power balls.

service can be quite slow during lunch time, but well worth the wait. the space is a bit small and the staff seem a bit stressed, what with all the orders streaming in. you feel a bit pushed to the side, especially if you're on your own. but they seem efficient nonetheless (at least they've never gotten my order wrong).

overall, a highly recommended spot for a quick lunch or just a smoothie on the go. you can be guaranteed of fresh ingredients and a wonderful combination of flavors that leaves you feeling satisfied and healthy.

stunning little place that i stumbled upon in newlands. great ambience,foodto die for, friendly staff, and very quaint. plus, it's health oriented so you don't have to worry too much about calorie tracking! five stars, and would definitely recommend.

i'm so happy to have a healthfoodplace in the southern suburbs. and one that has truth coffee. although they do not have a halaal certificate, the owner / manager informed me that they are halaal.

wanted to try their salads, but they were sold out. had the chicken, pesto & avo wrap which was toasted. it was warm, yummy and flavourful. the wrap was served on a custom "rootbar" board. unfortunately the portion sizes are small. the wheat-free brownie and cuppacino were also really good. there prices are very affordable too.

would be better if they had a bit more variety offoodoptions, bigger portions and had salads available.

local is lekker! i often find with health juices they look like algae on hartebeastport dam and smell like the ass end of a veggie patch... this most certainly not the case with rootbar. its arrival in the area is most timeous and it's location pretty strategic - right next the creamery! i am sure there will be an influx of kale-consuming vegan hipsters there in no time. the uproot juice is my fav - whack a bit of ginger in everything and it will all feel good, including a sore thought! in the short time it has been i have been there a lot and comforting yo know i can get my week's worth of nutrition in one glass and deserve an ice cream afterwards. i have had a taste of a couple of other drinks and they vary from yum to bland, there might need to do some recipe tweaking. it might be a bit pricey... after all most of it is just rabbitfoodin a blender.

this place is very cute and i'm sure any healthyfoodlovers dream. i wish the iced coffee would have had blended ice instead of huge ice blocks but other than that thefoodand service was decent and thefoodis actually very affordable for a healthyfoodplace which usually charges through the roof.

if you're in the mood for healthy wholesomefoodon the go or a quick sit down, i would really recommend this place. but if you're wanting lunch better get there by 12.30 otherwise you may find it getting a little cramped. my 3 portion (huge) salad plate was more than filling! add a portion of protein for r30 if you still have room. my first visit so i tried their ginger lemon juice which had just the right amount of ingredients.

i love rootbar for the amazing variety of health juices, smoothies, wraps and power bowls. i just had a sugar and gluten free brownie which was deliciously succulent and full of chocolate delights. the biggest gripe though is the slow point of sale process so much so that a customer behind me walked out the door. the staff generally talk a lot amongst themselves before even greeting the customer, or are snails when doing payment because of distractions, and they also seem very stressed all of the time. the payment takes painfully long which is a shame because thefoodis quick, delicious and wanting you coming back for more. i just wish the payment section is more organized and not so chaotic.

it was a monday, my body needed some good vitamins and nutrients to give it a boost after a weekend with little sleep and unhealthyfoodchoices🙈. so on my way back i decided to check out rootbar for a fresh juice. it is perfectly situated on the road side.

they have quite bit of options for smoothies and juices as well as shots (the healthy kind😜) i decided on the "sunshine" juice as it sounded like exactly what i needed. it was delicious although at first the ginger was a bit overpowering but after a few sips, it didn't bother me. (maybe ask people how much of ginger they would like as i've seen at other places)

they also have truth coffee which i didn't know, so i will definitely be picking up my caffeine fix on the way to campus.

the salads looked super fresh and delicious and although salads are not my favourite, i really want to go back to try theirs, thats how good it looks.

service was quick and everyone was very friendly and maybe i went there on a good day but everyone who worked there seemed very happy which is refreshing to see and creates a lovely atmosphere.

its a small but trendy coffee bar with delightful aromas and a trendy feel. the service at the counter was good but they kept taking our dishes to the wrong tables.

been here a few times for their truth coffee but most recently i had breakfast. the veg wrap was really so well seasoned and not just bland vegetables. my sister had the avocado toast which was full of flavour. the thai chicken wrap had the perfect ratio of chicken and veggies.

overall, love this spot and i would highly recommend it. the coffee is good and thefoodis fresh and flavoursome.

this is such a gem- feel healthy and virtuous going there but they serve seriously good smoothies and healthfood..they also open very early so you can stop for a smoothie for breakfast on your way to work! lovely vibe..

i'm only in and around newlands two days a week, but i go to rootbar basically four times a week. you read that right, folks! sometimes i go to rootbar multiple times in one day. am i embarrassed? only slightly. theirfoodand drinks are so guilt-free, that i can really only feel any shame in being an overly-frequent patron for, like, 2 seconds.

everything here is so tasty and fresh! i only wish the location had more space for me to settle in. it would definitely be hard to come here with people; it's definitely more of a quick-stop place. nonetheless, i love rootbar and will continue to make it part of my weekly routine.

check out my cool coffee art, impressive. a really small spot but they say dynamite comes in small packages, that's exactly what this place is. thank you for bringing awesome coffee to my doorstep. truth coffee for the win. i also tried their chicken wrap which was lovely and seasoned to perfection. there isn't much space to place your bum, so it more of a grab and go vibe, but i loved the place. i really get amped about places and this is one of them, it's been open for about 3 months now. it's next to the creamery so pop in for a coffee, juice or wrap. i didn't get to try the juices yet, but it looked like they have some epic options on the menu. i think i have found my new watering hole, or at least one of them. we are getting so spoilt in cape town now, with all this love being put intofoodand coffee. here, i tasted the love...

another health spot to visit in cape town! i had the raw vegetable lasagne- super tasty. i also had a power ball. exceptionally healthyfoodthat will make feel very proud of yourself for indulging in the purer super foods of life!

this little health hub is one of my new favourite places to go. it's owners are friendly and generous and thefoodis amazing! i have loved all the juices i've tried there and the quinoa bowl was delicious. the chocolate protein balls are also amazing! the decor is so great and i'd defs recommend a pop in.

what an absolute delight. rootbar is a must visit if you're into the healthyfoodthing, and probably even more importantly if it's not your usual thing. they offer a wide variety of incredibly tasty, healthy smoothies, juices and vegan foodie treats. the only thing more exciting than the food, is how well priced it is. the raw veg lasagne will change your life. they serve truth coffee - the cherry on top of any great meal.
