rootbar has definitely become one of my favorite health food takeaway joints. compared to kauai and other similar places, it just stands out by miles! and conveniently located on uct's doorstep, it makes for the perfect quick and pocket-friendly meal for us students.

i always have a difficult time deciding which smoothie i want to order, but so far every single one that i've tasted was heavenly. extremely fresh, thick packed full of vitamins and minerals, it's like the ultimate health shake. the caffe energizer is a truly unique mix, with that touch of truthcoffeemaking for the perfect "pick me up" sort of drink. i'm also absolutely in love with the blueberry shake, and still on my list to try is the paradise, protein powerhouse (after a hectic gym session i think), sweetheart... actually, let's just say i want to try all of them. that's how good they are! totally next level!

as for the food, the wraps are tasty but quite small. perfect for a light lunch, but if you're starving, order yourself the wrap plus a 500ml smoothie. perfect combination! the salads are fantastic and i would highly recommend giving them a try. always fresh and full of flavor, even though it doesn't look like much from the sidelines. and their protein is always good quality and juicy. still on my bucket list to try is the vegetable lasagna, their gluten free brownies and protein power balls.

service can be quite slow during lunch time, but well worth the wait. the space is a bit small and the staff seem a bit stressed, what with all the orders streaming in. you feel a bit pushed to the side, especially if you're on your own. but they seem efficient nonetheless (at least they've never gotten my order wrong).

overall, a highly recommended spot for a quick lunch or just a smoothie on the go. you can be guaranteed of fresh ingredients and a wonderful combination of flavors that leaves you feeling satisfied and healthy.

this place is very cute and i'm sure any healthy food lovers dream. i wish the icedcoffeewould have had blended ice instead of huge ice blocks but other than that the food and service was decent and the food is actually very affordable for a healthy food place which usually charges through the roof.

it was a monday, my body needed some good vitamins and nutrients to give it a boost after a weekend with little sleep and unhealthy food choices🙈. so on my way back i decided to check out rootbar for a fresh juice. it is perfectly situated on the road side.

they have quite bit of options for smoothies and juices as well as shots (the healthy kind😜) i decided on the "sunshine" juice as it sounded like exactly what i needed. it was delicious although at first the ginger was a bit overpowering but after a few sips, it didn't bother me. (maybe ask people how much of ginger they would like as i've seen at other places)

they also have truthcoffeewhich i didn't know, so i will definitely be picking up my caffeine fix on the way to campus.

the salads looked super fresh and delicious and although salads are not my favourite, i really want to go back to try theirs, thats how good it looks.

service was quick and everyone was very friendly and maybe i went there on a good day but everyone who worked there seemed very happy which is refreshing to see and creates a lovely atmosphere.

a cute little spot tucked neatly opposite (or next to, depending whichever way you look at it) the famous creamery in newlands. what an ideal location, and the coffee, which is sourced from truth, is nothing short of amazing. i love the apple and cinnamon smoothie that comes with protein powder. to me, this is the perfect & healthy sweet treat to get your energy levels up!

it can become a little congested in the limited space available, but the smoothies andcoffeeare well worth the troubles. you might as well order your drinks for takeaway, if you are one of those people who can't be in crowded places. the staff are very friendly and on the ball with their orders. you never have to wait long for anything you order. make sure to try out their treats which can be found in the glass display - you and your appetite will certainly be gratified by the buttery goodness melting in your mouth!

the location of rootbar suits me perfectly as i live up the road from it. i am also an on the go person so grabbing a smoothie/juice for pre/post gym or even before running errands is great as its healthy firstly and secondly sustains me throughout my day/afternoon. my favourite pressed juice would have to be "deep rooted" and favourite smoothie would be the caffe energizer because who doesn't love a little kick ofcoffeein their smoothie.

its a small but trendycoffeebar with delightful aromas and a trendy feel. the service at the counter was good but they kept taking our dishes to the wrong tables.

been here a few times for their truthcoffeebut most recently i had breakfast. the veg wrap was really so well seasoned and not just bland vegetables. my sister had the avocado toast which was full of flavour. the thai chicken wrap had the perfect ratio of chicken and veggies.

overall, love this spot and i would highly recommend it. thecoffeeis good and the food is fresh and flavoursome.

definitely my new favourite place!

went to rootbar for breakfast the other day. my friend and i had the lsa porridge which was delicious!coffeewas superb also. they definitely need to grow and open up a cafe with more seating. will be back!

this place is fantastic! it has so many different healthy smoothies and treats, and best of all, they are delicious... the blueberry smoothie is heavenly! just like drinking a cloud. plus they serve truthcoffeehere!

check out my coolcoffeeart, impressive. a really small spot but they say dynamite comes in small packages, that's exactly what this place is. thank you for bringing awesomecoffeeto my doorstep. truthcoffeefor the win. i also tried their chicken wrap which was lovely and seasoned to perfection. there isn't much space to place your bum, so it more of a grab and go vibe, but i loved the place. i really get amped about places and this is one of them, it's been open for about 3 months now. it's next to the creamery so pop in for a coffee, juice or wrap. i didn't get to try the juices yet, but it looked like they have some epic options on the menu. i think i have found my new watering hole, or at least one of them. we are getting so spoilt in cape town now, with all this love being put into food and coffee. here, i tasted the love...

a quaint quick stop for the discerning health nut. i enjoyed an espresso almond drink which i expected to be bitter but was pleasantly surprised by how nourishingly yummy it was. i'm also impressed by how rootbar serves truthcoffee(my favourite bean). their lunches sound divine and will definitely make a mission to try their date balls and other healthy snacks.

what an absolute delight. rootbar is a must visit if you're into the healthy food thing, and probably even more importantly if it's not your usual thing. they offer a wide variety of incredibly tasty, healthy smoothies, juices and vegan foodie treats. the only thing more exciting than the food, is how well priced it is. the raw veg lasagne will change your life. they serve truthcoffee- the cherry on top of any great meal.
