ronin steak house & sushi

best for people who like real sushi. i think the negative reviews about thesushimust be from people who like cookedsushirather than raw. their sashimi is the best in town, without doubt. we've been there 50+ times over the last year and a half and the fish has always been outstanding. their gyoza is also the best around, and actually pan fried, which is the only way we've seen it in japan. take it from people who have lived in japan and hawaii (which, if you don't know, has a very strong japanese influence and a large japanese population), this is the best japanese food in the twin cities, cooked or raw. we have always had excellent service, too.

sushi is the best in town and made just how you specify. the grill isn’t so good but they give you good portions! lunch special forsushiis awesome.

deplorable service. bad sushi. overpriced. wait staff admitted to lack of training. didn't know menu at all and failed to serve all components ordered.sushiwas tasteless and rice had the consistency of pudding. plating was pleasing but the experience was lacking and hibachi chefs are entertaining. good place for socializing and watching the show but don't eat and avoid the bar. at least 8 feet of it was covered with used drinkware.

sushi is excellent but watch out if you sit at thesushibar... the floor is very slick and the chairs slide around like you are on ice.

this was fantastic. spicy tuna. roe, jalapeño, sliced tuna on the outside with spicy tuna and panko inside. cucumbers also. it was fantastic never hadsushithis good. if your here in monroe. it’s a good place for lunch or dinner.

my favorite place to eat! my boyfriend and i go every other week. food is fresh andsushiis very good. the snowball is the best. we've always had excellent service!

hate i spent that much for really bad sushi!. i am staying in town for the week for work, and got off early so decided to go by ronin to get somesushitogo. really bad idea i came to find out. i ordered the rocknroll, phili roll, vegetable tempura and the house salad with ginger dressing. i should have checked everything before i left. the fish in thesushiwas old. it was mushy and smelled bad. the tempura was way too heavy of a batter and too thick and had no flavor whatsoever, not even the dipping sauce. no flavor. the vegetables were par-cooked before frying, which made them taste canned, seriously, i know. the asparagus especially. and not to mention, expensive!! i hate i spent so much for some crap food. don't waste your time or money!!

delicious, but lacking. my coworkers and i decided to pick up somesushifor lunch from ronin. this is the first time i had orderedsushifrom ronin. while it was delicious and the order was ready in an ample amount of time, i felt like we were being teased with the amount ofsushiwe received. i had an avocado and california roll, and they both fit into a container smaller than the ones you would receive from brookshires or another expresssushivenue. my coworker had the spicy tuna and spicy crab, and it was the same. i felt i paid to much for what i had received even if it was the "good" sushi. personally, i have had bettersushiat other places in monroe, but this is a great venue for the habachi. i've attended a couple birthday parties here, and they were made enjoyable with the "show" the chef puts on. in those circumstances, i received a lot of delicious food. service was friendly and adept at handling my pick-up order and sit-in customers at the same time.

a little pricey, but good food. i've only eaten thesushiwhen dining here so i don't have any knowledge of the hibachi side. thesushimenu is neither limited or expansive, just an average selection. every roll that i've tried from here has been good, although they're usually between $9-13 each. also the gyoza apetizer and some kind of fried cannoli type dessert are really good. the service has always been good and the atmosphere is kind of upscale, but relaxed at the same time.

best japanese yet. i choose to use ronin for all of my parties, family event, etc. they have the best food and the best service! i don't eatsushibut their other choices on the menu are amazing! i eat the steak:) hope i can help with your decision to eat there!

ive eaten at the actual resturaunt a few times and great food always.
had a slight issue with a waitress once, she took food from us while we were still eating it. i filled in a complaint card and she was hovering over my shoulder trying to read it. manager apologized and was very polite.
all in all i still love their food and will continue to eat there.

consistently good.sushihas become something of a passion, and it's a rare week that we don't indulge oursushicraving. ronin'ssushiis delicious. we love the ronin salad, which includes a nice mix of fish, seaweed, and vegetables (cucumber, carrot). be sure to check the specials, which often include seasonal or new offerings.

awesome !!!. ronin was by far the best place i have eaten in a really long time . they had the freshestsushiwhich is more than i can say for just about all of the othersushirestaurants around the monroe/west monroe area . the food from the hibachi andsushiwas excellent and the service was wonderful . we were seated promptly greeted nicely and visited by the manager to make sure our meal was great (and it was) i really enjoyed myself at ronin japanese hibachi steak &sushiand would definitely recommend anyone to go there and try it for themselves !

compare to the many japanese place i have the pleassure of eating at this place is rank way below average. the ingredients are not very fresh (which is the most important requirement of anysushirestaurant) and the hibachi was greasy and salty..

ive always had great service an great food.. thesushiand grill is amazing and cheaper than some others
