best for people who like real sushi. i think the negative reviews about the sushi must be from people who like cooked sushi rather than raw. their sashimi is the best in town, without doubt. we've been there 50+ times over the last year and a half and the fish has always been outstanding. their gyoza is also the best around, and actually pan fried, which is the only way we've seen it in japan. take it from people who have lived in japan and hawaii (which, if you don't know, has a very strong japanese influence and a large japanese population), this is the best japanese food in the twin cities, cooked or raw. we have always had excellent service, too.

sushi is the best in town and made just how you specify. the grill isn’t so good but they give you good portions! lunch special for sushi is awesome.

deplorable service. bad sushi. overpriced. wait staff admitted to lack of training. didn't know menu at all and failed to serve all components ordered. sushi was tasteless and rice had the consistency of pudding. plating was pleasing but the experience was lacking and hibachi chefs are entertaining. good place for socializing and watching the show but don't eat and avoid the bar. at least 8 feet of it was covered with used drinkware.

sushi is excellent but watch out if you sit at the sushi bar... the floor is very slick and the chairs slide around like you are on ice.

dinner from monroe. food was good. waitress needed training. said that it was only her 3rd day. couldn't answer questions. rushed our time. did not bring comp soup to eat. will go back, hopefully have better waiter/ waitress.

not a bad place for the monroe area. very much like the tokyo steakhouse, but far less expensive. the food was decent, and the service was great.

food was good but over priced and service was in a hurry to leave. our server walked by our table 5 times in a time span of 10 minutes before getting our drinks and at the same time failing to notice that my four year old was even at the table with us. she did however do a great job of subtly letting us know she was cut in the middle of our meal, hinting to please hurry. the check was delivered about the same time our entrees were delivered. josey was very polite but could use a few pointers on making her customers feel more welcome rather than making them feel like they are a burden. servers make their money off of customers who tip, not the $2.13/hour they are payed. they should remember that before they come to the table.

entertaining service. we had a great experience at ronin. our chef, peter, did a great job and was entertaining as well! the sauces are savory and the food was great and plentiful... all at a decent price for a hibachi restaurant.

eat here if you enjoy the company of roaches with your meal. i should've read the reviews first. several customers mentioned this place as roach infested

this was fantastic. spicy tuna. roe, jalapeño, sliced tuna on the outside with spicy tuna and panko inside. cucumbers also. it was fantastic never had sushi this good. if your here in monroe. it’s a good place for lunch or dinner.

ronin is inconsistent. at times the food is great, but on average it's average. service is spotty and many times the wait staff are non english speaking asians. if they were more consistent to the upside they'd be higher rated of course

very small rolls and very small niguri slides. i cannot say it was not fresh but it was not filling at all. good service but i spent $30 and walked out hungry. i am used to traveling so maybe this is a monroe thing. will try rawz next with higher hopes...

cold food. ronins usually has very good food. the problem i have with them is the last 2 times we have been there we were seated at a table and our food came out cold and/or room temp. don't know about you but it seems that if it came right from the kitchen that it wouldn't have time to get cold. rooom temp steak and veggies but cold rice is yuck. very disappointed as i always bring friends and family there. was embarrassed.

never eating here again!!! they forgot 2 of our rolls and still charged us for them. after getting half our meal sat in front of us nobody asked if we needed anything. no utensils. no sauce. no refills. they come to bring the check 45 min later and we told them we never got the rest of our meal but we didn't want it anymore. the waiter first said he wouldn't charge us. then came back 10 min later and said the only thing they could do was put it in a to go box but couldn't take it off the ticket! we came 2 hours before closing so it wasn't like we were keeping them from leaving!! and we didn't even get to speak to a manager!! the server avoided us as much as possible and the rest of the place was dead so nobody else was around for us to ask. no wonder this place was empty tonight! this is ridiculous!!! never coming back!!!!!
