ronin steak house & sushi

food was good but over priced and service was in a hurry to leave. our server walked by our table 5 times in a time span of 10 minutes before getting our drinks and at the same time failing to notice that my four year old was even at the table with us. she did however do agreatjob of subtly letting us know she was cut in the middle of our meal, hinting to please hurry. the check was delivered about the same time our entrees were delivered. josey was very polite but could use a few pointers on making her customers feel more welcome rather than making them feel like they are a burden. servers make their money off of customers who tip, not the $2.13/hour they are payed. they should remember that before they come to the table.

entertaining service. we had agreatexperience at ronin. our chef, peter, did agreatjob and was entertaining as well! the sauces are savory and the food wasgreatand plentiful... all at a decent price for a hibachi restaurant.

great experience. me and my husband have been here quite a few times alone,have brought our kids and have brought our extended family.we have tried the dumplins as appetizer and always eat off the habachi grill.we all love the food.its fantastic and the cooks are very friendly withgreatservice.i would recommend the shrimp and chicken cooked on the habachi.its awesome and the fried rice is the bomb!

quality was lacking. went here on a whim (was across from our hotel) as we were all very tired. had the hibachi.greatpresentation by the chef and very attentive wait staff. that's where it ended. food did not taste fresh at all (i had the shrimp and chicken). really paid for it later that night!

the best place to eat in the monroe area hands down with the war tasting cuts of steak.greatentertainment at the hibachi grill. very beautiful waitresses and hostess

delicious, but lacking. my coworkers and i decided to pick up some sushi for lunch from ronin. this is the first time i had ordered sushi from ronin. while it was delicious and the order was ready in an ample amount of time, i felt like we were being teased with the amount of sushi we received. i had an avocado and california roll, and they both fit into a container smaller than the ones you would receive from brookshires or another express sushi venue. my coworker had the spicy tuna and spicy crab, and it was the same. i felt i paid to much for what i had received even if it was the "good" sushi. personally, i have had better sushi at other places in monroe, but this is agreatvenue for the habachi. i've attended a couple birthday parties here, and they were made enjoyable with the "show" the chef puts on. in those circumstances, i received a lot of delicious food. service was friendly and adept at handling my pick-up order and sit-in customers at the same time.

love it.. i get their sushi often, always great.
ive eaten at the actual resturaunt a few times andgreatfood always.
had a slight issue with a waitress once, she took food from us while we were still eating it. i filled in a complaint card and she was hovering over my shoulder trying to read it. manager apologized and was very polite.
all in all i still love their food and will continue to eat there.

awesome !!!. ronin was by far the best place i have eaten in a really long time . they had the freshest sushi which is more than i can say for just about all of the other sushi restaurants around the monroe/west monroe area . the food from the hibachi and sushi was excellent and the service was wonderful . we were seated promptly greeted nicely and visited by the manager to make sure our meal wasgreat(and it was) i really enjoyed myself at ronin japanese hibachi steak & sushi and would definitely recommend anyone to go there and try it for themselves !

have hadgreatexperiences until tonight! waited an hour for table of 12. then they told us were taking up too much room so we left and they were fine with watching a party of 12 walk out.

omg the best sushi the only bad thing is it is so good there is a wait but once u get a table the service isgreatand i did not know it but u can get a shared portion of the food that comes from the hibachi for $5 extra instead of getting two full meals

wonderful. the biggest downfall of having a restaurant that is this good is that the waits are terrible. once you get a seat the food is top notch.

the hibachi cooks know how to put on a show, make jokes, and of course cook. some of the best fried rice i have had. their chicken is not the best but the steak and shrimp is great.

as far as sushi, it is the best in monroe. the rolls are massive. i can never finish 2 rolls. you wont be ordering expensive rolls and then still be hungry afterwards. the rolls havegreatflavor. i have yet to have one that i did not like.

the bar is also superb. manygreatdrinks to choose from. if you are looking for sake, beer, wine or a cocktail. the staff is very friendly and the waiters are generally quick and courteous.

going on weeknights will be beneficial as the weekends are always packed. a second location has now opened in ruston, la and it is just as good.

9/10. treat yourself.

great food &greatpeople. just took my 2 girls (3&5) and my husband out to ronin's for lunch. excellent sushi and wonderful steak on the habachi grill. the atmosphere was very interesting and i think i've found my new favorite restaurant! we will be back!

excellent sushi! they did agreatjob transforming it from rj gators. i wasn't expecting it to be so nice. if you are a sashimi fan, try the ronin sashimi combo. this really is our favorite sushi spot in monroe.
