i feel like this place just gets by on the location and the view. i’ve
been a couple of times for drinks but have never been overly impressed, and
after my last experience i really doubt i will return. attended a birthday
function here and was told that they couldn’t cater for my gluten intolerance so
i would have to order something from the regular menu. the menu doesn’t give
any indication of anything being gluten free, dairy free or even vegetarian and
when i asked at the bar i was told ‘you can probably have the sweet potato
wedges’. so i ordered them, they were $10 and came in the smallest bowl i have
ever seen, there were about 12 wedges and because some of them were so thick
they weren’t even cooked through. they also say that they come with sweet chili
and sour cream….they come with about 2 tablespoons of sweet chili and literally
a half teaspoon of sour cream dolloped in the middle of the sweet chili. the
staff were rubbish, twice we were given totally different drinks than we had
ordered and when one of the mistakes was pointed out we were told ‘i’ve already
taken it off the bar tab, so do you still want it?’. overall just such an
average experience. go for drinks if you’re not too bothered about service, but
there are better places along eagle st with the same view and much more to
offer.
