disappointed. great service and a very hip feel about the place but it was way overpriced and the $75 degustation was really disappointing. the pork was chewy, the "capsicum roll" was bland. there simply wasn't enough food - i left the place hungry and when i got home i had cheese on toast! i didn't feel like i got value for money.

there was an extensive wine list. only one bottle on the list was under $50. i probably wouldn't have drunk it but at at least i'd like the option of getting a cheaper bottle.

i won't be going back in a hurry.

didn't even get to try the food. walked in and yes it was busy but there clearly tables available. there were tables with and without reserved signs. when my husband and i walked in we were told that there was not enough room for us. yes i had no make up or heels on but we were both dressed well as we had been to work. very disappointing. if they are prepared to judge a book by its cover then so am i!

the service here was amazing, staff are so kind & food was delicious. organised my cousins bday here and they organised a special birthday dessert which was really lovely. highly recommended!

supremely overrated. the food was very overpriced, tasty enough but nothing special. my partner and i had pasta for $26 each that was meager. another person in our party had the lamb rack - the $45 meal would barely pass as an entree! i won't go back and will advise others against.

overated. i booked this restaurant hoping to enjoy a good food in a good atmosphere. i am very disappointed with the overall experience : inexperienced maitre d'hotel, tasteless dishes poorly displayed, very loud environment. this restaurant should not be mentioned as one of the top in the city. it is a shame.

great service, terrible food. carpaccio swimming in lemon juice, veal dish was just a huge chunk of veal with a pile of rocket beside it, dish desperately needed a sauce. spatchcock special average- again no sauce. way overpriced for this standard of food.

tried on 18th may 2019. sadly very disappointed. ordered seafood pasta, truffle pasta and truffle pizza for take away. they got the order wrong and we got seafood pizza instead which we regretfully had to accept since we have a toddler and they were busy. pizzas were delicious. but their truffle pasta has zero salt. we believe they forgot to add salt. considering how they got our order wrong to begin with, they probably had an off day and we were unlucky. we were so excited to try our local and highly rated restaurant for the first time but beccofino or il verde are definitely better around this area.

okay.. im not sure if its an authentic style though i really disliked the primavera pizza. the base is cooked though the cheese, tomato sauce, rocket and prosciuto are just thrown on the cooked base and the tomatoes werent even warm. tasted very average in my opinion. would not order again.

when i'd ordered the risotto, i'd not read the menu correctly and didn't realise that there were going to be scallops added. you can imagine my surprise and delight when i saw four plump and perfectly caramelised scallops sitting atop an equally beautiful pea and corn risotto. it was the ideal size for a risotto too, not too much and plated properly so it was not thick and goopey on the plate. the sweet corn flavour shone through and the freshness of the peas helped offset some of the sweetness. it was a wonderful example of how a risotto should be put together.

looking for a place to catch up with friends over delicious dessert? then this is it.

the chocolate fondant dish was so delicious i was tempted to lick the plate clean. it had a soft centre which oozed out as you sliced into it. would recommend ordering the extra vanilla ice cream with it as well.

we also ordered the honey and vanilla infused panna cotta. their food and service are second to none. so if you are looking for some quality italian, we definitely rate it!

i stayed at the emporium hotel and took a few steps outside and landed at a table at the gorgeous tartufo next door. we had a terrific dinner indulging in traditional italian with great wine, fresh pasta (rigatoni and linguine), salad (caprese) and then italian-inspired rolled roasted pork, truffled polenta and hot mustard fruits and the salmon with lemon butter and capers (yum). it is a great italian menu and the wait staff are friendly and chatty (which is always nice when you are holidaying). i definitely plan to go back and highly recommend if you are in the emporium complex in fortitude valley.

i can't comprehend how this restaurant constantly receives praise and publicity from various food critics! fantastic fit out and fine service but food is average at best and this is after 3 attempts. when will brisbane learn?
