emporium - fortitude valley
i stayed at the emporium hotel and took a few steps outside and landed at a table at the gorgeous tartufo next door. we had a terrific dinner indulging in traditionalitalianwith great wine, fresh pasta (rigatoni and linguine), salad (caprese) and then italian-inspired rolled roasted pork, truffled polenta and hot mustard fruits and the salmon with lemon butter and capers (yum). it is a greatitalianmenu and the wait staff are friendly and chatty (which is always nice when you are holidaying). i definitely plan to go back and highly recommend if you are in the emporium complex in fortitude valley.

keep coming back to this place for authenticitalianflavours and they never dissapoint. they are up there withitalianfood in brisbane and do well. all food is made in store and that is fantastic.

the pastas and pizza are amazing. recently tried their sefood pasta and it was one of the best. their flavours are authentic and bring back memories of travel through italy. even the way the service staff greet and interact is authentic, withitalianstaff or well trained to speak the lingo. the dining experience has been great and will continue to keep coming back. fine dining experience is amazing.

overall a great place, a place you can visit over and over again for youritalianfix.

keep coming back.

i love this place. bestitalianpizzas in brisbane! highly recommend this if your craving some good authenticitalianfood. the staff are really friendly and accomodating. takeaway options are available also. if pizza is not your thing there are mains and pasta dishes that are equally as amazing.

omg. one of the bestitalianrestaurants inhave ever been to.

excellent service and even better food.

the porchetta was the best pork belly i've had ij my life. the entrees were delicious (carpaccio and buffalo mozzarella) and the tiramisu, bellisimo!

even the table bread and house churned butter was incredible.

put this place on your must visits.

we never eatitalianas we areitalianand in the hospitality industry from melbourne. we gave this place a try and it was beautiful. the ambiance and decor was classic and unique in today’s era. the food was very good and the staff?? amazing, they were very attentive and there was lots of them. you did it need to call them over as they constantly attended to every need, filling up your water, ensuring you had drinks and more importantly asking how your meal was within a couple of minutes of you trying it, and if there was an issue whatsoever there was no qualm about their professionalism in rectifying the issue.

the best pizza dough i have ever had and being from melbourne the foodie capital, i have had many.

if i’m brisbane this place is a must visit.

made a reservation for saturday dinner at 6.00pm whereby there were still parking spots available within the emporium complex. note, you will have to choose to sit either on the ala carte side or the pizzeria side.
we ordered the ala carte specials for the evening to share amongst three people - sardines (and aranchini balls) for entrees, the linguine with pippis for a light dish, and confit lamb rack with organic polenta for the main, and a side dish of cauliflowers. everything was prepared and cooked beautifully, with each element complimenting each other.
we ordered cocktails and wines too. our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly, and knew the wine list very well.
dark, comfy ambience with a touch of class. expect $60-$70 per person, including drinks.
overall, a sophisticated and gooditaliandinner option for a night out.

we absolutley loved eating here. the service was excellent from as soon as you walk in the door. through out our meal wait staff where always topping up our wines and checking in on us.the capaccio di manzo was great starter , great flavours with the truffle, fresh crispy greens, very well balanced with all the different textures. for mains i had the lamb rack which was cooked medium rare to perfection and went very well with the basil mash potatoes.
there are a lot ofitalianrestaraunts around but i think this place ticks alot of boxes.

***review no. 500***

i took my team to ristorante tartufo to celebrate a successful end to the financial year and to mark my 500th zomato review.

i was looking forward to revisiting this highly rateditalianrestaurant and was prepared to splash out for a high-end experience. unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down.

we began our meal with a bottle of sparkling wine (cloudy bay pelorus) and orders of bruschetta, arancini balls, calamari fritti and burrata.

the bruschetta was tasty, but the bread was a bit too dry and rated 3.5. the arancini balls were also a bit dry and crumbled a bit too much when cutting into it. the flavor was good and this rated a 3. it was a generous serving of calamari fritti, but they were average and rated a 3. the burrata was a little tough on the outside and not nearly as creamy as i am used to on the inside. this too rated a 3. we were off to a very average start - not what we were expecting.

for mains we ordered the duck confit risotto special, the rigatoni saliscce and the porchetta (pork belly) to go along with a terre al lago pinot.

the duck confit risotto had good, but slightly overpowering, flavors. the beans, greens, arborio rice, cheese and duck came together nicely, but the texture was a bit inconsistent. the duck was nice and tender, but the dish as a whole rated 3-3.5.

the rigatoni saliscce combineditalianpork sausage, fried eggplant, smoked mozzarella, tomato, basil and parmesan with tender rigatoni. this was the only dish that really met expectations and rated a 4.

the porchetta received mixed reviews. i found the meat itself to be a bit dry, while the crackling was a bit too soft. the dish as a whole just wasn't as tender as i have come to expect from nice restaurants. the dish did have good flavour and rated 3.5-4. my colleague rated it a 4 and felt that the only thing keeping it from being 4.5-5 was the crackling wasn't crispy enough.

good service and the food came out very quickly, but overall, the restaurant rated 3.5 when we were expecting 4-5 for the $60-$70 per person.

in my opinion there are far betteritalianrestaurants in brisbane at better prices.
